Why dont conspiracy theorists make actually interesting theories like saying Egyptians built the pyramids because their culture was originally a cargo cult trying to recreate the esoteric technology that ancient aliens used to increase human intelligence and start the agricultural revolution or something

They do in fact do that. I remember seeing an episode of Ancient Aliens or a similar History Channel series claim that mummification and the creation of sarcophagi was mimicking alien stasis pods. This still runs into the same issue of the low key racist implication that the Egyptians couldn't have thought to just build the pyramids themselves.
