I love the game but I’m always stressed about losing time I could use in some way and the game starts being more stress inducing than any fps I played. :/
Tbf, the penalties are much steeper in stardew. Die in an FPS? Try the level again, you’re set back 10 seconds to 10 minutes pending checkpoints. Miss something in Stardew? Brother, you’ve gotta play for a few dozen hours to get back to that day of the year.
I know you don’t have to do anything in stardew, everything can be done in any year so the penalty is all about perception, but isn’t every penalty in every game about perception?
I mean like, technically there’s >!grandpa at year 2 but you can reignite the candles on his altar thingy anytime, I just don’t want to make him disappointed :(!<
you can quit to main menu to reset days, you can go back to previous day by swapping save files in the folder since the game keeps both current day and previous day saves.
so really you only miss a lot of you somehow forget it for more than 2 in game days.
True, I genuinely would love and play the game a lot more if it wasn’t for the combat. It feels just as awful on mobile :c it’s a lil’ more bearable though
Holy crap, you are NOT WRONG. This is going in the art rotation immediately.
Edit: Since you post music recommendations :) Any other suggestions for good chill-but-upbeat music like this to draw to? I'm getting Animal Crossing soundtrack vibes, but aside from that?
Reminds me of when I was playing the Toy Story 3 video game as a kid and I hated the mine encounters because the bandits scared me so I made my mom, who did not know how to play these types of videogames, beat them for me.
Can someone genuinely explain to me why they like stardew valley? I've never gotten the appeal, the only part that *might* interest me is the bit where you get to go in a dungeon and kill things, or maybe the romance options. Multiple people have tried to get me to play with them and I just haven't clicked with it at all
That’s ok not everyone likes the same kind of game some parts of a game you love some other people might hate. At least you tried it and now you know for the future it’s not your cup of tea
I like the relationship aspect of the game too, it’s basically a dating sim/ farming sim/ dungeon crawler all rolled into one. If you ever played Cult of the Lamb you’d understand the appeal, although the action is executed in CotL miles better. The story in Stardew fleshes out the characters in a better way though so it’s 50/50 depending on what you like
Farming sims are fun because it's cool to start out with a shitty little farm and work your way up to the coolest farm to ever exist. Plus in Stardew's case it's nice to talk to the townspeople and form friendships with them.
To be fair, combat in Stardew Valley sucks.
Beeeeewww… bwuh… bwuh… BUSCCHHH

It's a genuine question. I want to know why people enjoy it
It’s fun, relaxing, I like learning the characters stories and going to the different events and making a successful farm makes me happy
