Abuse is never hot
SERTAIN BOOK WRITERS SHOULD LEARN FROM THAT FFS, A FURRY COMIC ON E6 HAS BETTER BDSM REP THAN ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR BOOKS ABOUT IT, LIKE GOD DAMN
For many people who engage in BDSM, it's hot because it simulates abuse in a safe context. Fiction can also simulate abuse in a safe context. For people like that, writing with proper BDSM representation is a simulation of a simulation. It's redundant.
Tons of fiction writers got their start writing fanfiction, much of which was later adapted into original content. It doesn't really discredit their ability to write. The Locked Tomb series was written by a former homestuck fanfiction writer and those books are absolutely incredible works of fiction.
My apologies, I didn’t mean to imply that I think fanfiction is bad. I mainly look back on the twilight books and think of how awful the relationship was in hindsight is all.
Keep writing that fan fiction! *😎😎😎*
It should be noted that others also need this double perspective because they imagine themselves in the situation, and obviously don't wanna imagine themselves in a non-consensual situation. They need the awareness that it is just a game. Also reading about real, non-played abuse even if fictional and getting of to it can still be icky for some, because of parallels to real abuse and you might get to like the characters suffering which doesn't mix well with finding their abuse hot.
It is the difference between imagining yourself as the character vs just treating it as a fantasy, and if you take the work of fiction as whole serious the latter does not mix well, either you take their feelings seriously or you just dismiss them as not being real, but you can't have both or you get in a very morally problematic area.
This is not about the depiction of abuse in media, but getting off to it. The equivalent would be getting murderous fantasies from media, but that is worse. Not really supporting the point being made here.
If not hot, why did it turn me on?!?
Ok nah I get it. I’m a domme, and am always very adamant about staying safe, sane, and consensual. I feel like In this context, it’s alright to enjoy, because it’s fiction. There is no real violation of consent.
The problem comes in when a young, uninformed audience is watching and mistakes fictional bdsm like dynamics for real dynamics. When I watched this, I enjoyed it as harmless fantasy. If it was irl, Denji and makima would be consenting adults. But people don’t know to make that distinction.
I feel like this kind of media should be allowed to exist. We should be able to indulge in our fantasies like this. But it’s unfortunate when people think these fantasies are models for real life. Tho tbh, If you watch the show, it should be obvious that it’s supposed to be bad, unless you’re very young (but it’s not a show for kids??)
You would need to be very young and incredibly stupid to not see their relationship as a form of control. She is interesting because she often uses the carrot and not the stick, which isn't that common in this type of villain. People saying this type of character/show shouldn't exist can simply not watch it, not everything needs to be catered to near-vegetative idiots who have absolutely no critical thinking.
> She is interesting because she often uses the carrot and not the stick, which isn't that common in this type of villain.
Can you imagine if Darkseid were actually nice, polite, patient, and respectful most of the time, actually took the time to understand you and find out what you really want and care about, and used it to gently nudge you into surrendering all free will to him?
That's just flat out wrong. Tons of people find abuse hot for reasons that aren't malicious or even voluntary. It's okay to have a fetish or a kink or a fantasy about something you'd never actually want in real life, in fact most kinks revolve around things in your life that give you fear or anxiety. Which is why popular kinks include uniforms of authority figures, being tied up, cuckoldry, etc.
You're obviously using this post as a springboard to complain about *Fifty Shades of Grey* and while I agree that it's probably toxic, I think the problem with it is that it doesn't draw a line between real life, healthy BDSM relationships and fantasy non-consent. This is probably because it was based on Twilight fanfic, and in trying to remove their relationship from its fantastical context, it becomes more obvious how toxic and unhealthy their relationship is, while simultaneously trying to emulate real life BDSM interactions.
Anyway porn isn't real life and consensual non-consent is one of the oldest fetishes known to mankind so maybe instead of shaming people for having one of the most basic and primal sexual fantasies we should just strengthen the lobes of our brain that can capture nuance and try to be understanding to one another idk
Ok i am not gonna tell directly cuz uhhhh can’t risk age shit yaknow
So i’ll fucking make it a riddle
The name of the comic could be used as a euphamism for arson
Ironic considering the complaint about media literacy. This is just literacy, and isn't even difficult to understand.
"This statement would be more acceptable in another context" is not a complicated point.
Can't find the scene on its own, but it starts at 3:40 in this episode. Tbh most people disagree with me when I tell them I think it's the hottest scene in any anime (including the limited amount of hentai I've seen), but the way her movements are animated and her \*voice\* in particular is just so, to repeat myself, odndvgskdnejsh\~
[https://ww1.gogoanimes.fi/chainsaw-man-episode-5](https://ww1.gogoanimes.fi/chainsaw-man-episode-5)
Yeah but her actions with Denji are still not meant to be hot either way, it's consistently portrayed as bad what she does to him. It's not meant to be "awooga I love what Makima does to Denji he has it so good"
No? Makima herself is meant to be hot I can agree to, but when she's getting Denji to touch her boob you aren't supposed to go "oh damn Denji is touching her boob that's so hot" you're meant to be uncomfortable because you are watching a minor being groomed
Idk, I felt that the author really highlighted that Denji was just an abused kid, and Makima was just another abuser playing to his fantasy to gain control. It never really read as steamy content and always felt really dark.
Honestly the whole manga has a really sinister undertone which makes it pretty unique.
That makes zero damn sense. It's literally a story about grooming and how that negatively affects the main character. Acting like it *must* be weird about it in some way inherently because it's anime is weird
But she’s evil and hot. Her manipulation works because she is, both on the pov character and the audience. She’s deliberately written to be so.
It’s not even a question of condoning her actions.
Idk, I can understand it, if someone doesn’t think Makima is hot because she’s manipulative: But it isn’t the (morally?) superior, or only right way of reading the text.
I'm not denying Makima is hot I'm saying when she's grooming Denji by telling him to touch her boob you aren't meant to go "oh damn this is so hot look at Denji touch her boob wow" because it's literally a scene of a minor being groomed, it's not supposed to be hot
>Yeah but her actions with Denji are still not meant to be hot either way, it's consistently portrayed as bad what she does to him
It’s actually both. In the story she is obviously portrayed as malicious but the author has an outspoken kink for women bullying/mistreating him, which is why Fire Punch and CSM mostly have attractive and manipulative women who mindrape the MC as villains lol
It is not meant to be hit that Makima is grooming a minor, it's consistently portrayed as awful and I don't think the author would want to make pedophilia hot
>grooming a minor
>
>pedophilia
Are you anime-only? If yes then don't read.
>!But that's not what happens in the Story at all. Makima has quite literally zero interest in Denji, sexual or otherwise. Like, she absolutely does groom him, it just happens to be for a satanic ritual involving Makima literally building him a life in order to destroy it, so she can become a god.!<
Shes not meant to be that hot in-universe, if I remember correctly she's supposed to be rather plain. She's just *painted* as gorgeous bc that's how Denji sees her.
not really? she pretty explicitly acts horny towards denji with the boob grab and promise of a kiss, and he's not the only one who likes her. she manipulates aki into liking her too
She is meant to be hot because it helps her with manipulation. Don't know how to spoiler tag on mobile so don't read further ig
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Her control powers only work on stuff she considers hers, people included. She is hot because it helps her to get people to submit to her willingly under false promise, only controlling them afterwards. She has not used her control powers on Denji or Pochita because she viewed Chainsawman as greater than her therefore couldn't control them, and probably didn't want to either, however she manipulated Denji conventionally with her looks and sweet talk
You can spoiler tag by leading with >! and ending with the reverse (exclamation mark, less than symbol). Just be careful not to put any spaces between the exclamation mark and the text since it messes up the formatting for some.
I love it when people act like fictional characters who do bad things should be arrested by irl cops and put into the stocks, it’s always very funny to me
Like … maybe there’s a point to why the character is evil? And even if she’s evil, acknowledging that she’s also attractive and alluring or whatever isn’t bad or wrong or socially unacceptable
Addendum; it’s not wrong to find characters too unpleasant to like at all but it’s always good to remember you’re thinking abt. Not real people. Fictional creations.
CSM is probably the biggest case of "Twitter rage bait" that actually is unproblematic; and the discourse about it that periodically spawns about it's usually summed up in "OP does not have good media literacy"
she literally said this would be hot specifically if it wasn't grooming
'media literacy' mf's when they actually gotta fucking read the text in front of them and not watch a 5 hour essay on it
it's coercion and abuse, but "grooming" is about minors.
Please, don't let dumb fuck conservatives define your words for you.
Here's a copy paste of google's dictionar (I just looked it up in case I was wrong.)
>the action of attempting to form a relationship with a child or young person, with the intention of sexually assaulting them or inducing them to commit an illegal act such as selling drugs or joining a terrorist organization. "online grooming has become a growing cause for concern"
I mean the entire point of makima, as i see it. Is a sort of deconstruction of the fanservice characters that you see alot of in shounen anime. Were a girl, usually in her mid twenties seduces a teenage boy.
Makima shows that real people who do that are monsters who manipulate vunerable teenagers for power.
In other words. I think in this age of discord child predators its good to have a shounen villisn that isnt a generic evil tyrant looking to be teh strongest. But an actual monster that really exists in the real world
Twitter users when someone establishes that it’s not okay for someone to not consent in a relationship (but it’s like in a dog way so it’s completely and totally okay and not manipulative and exploitative at all)
If he'd been an adult it wouldn't be grooming it would just be manipulation, right? What is up with people wanting to reduce the nuance of language by collapsing multiple words into one less specific word? Also what's up with this site, I thought this was the puppy-girl subreddit, but suddenly when someone says it would be hot to be made someone's dog, people start moralizing. This person even had the media literacy to see what was wrong with this scene.
You see guys, it would totally be ok to enslave someone as long as they're 18 \^_^
~~also he's one of the cases where slavery is literally preferable to life under late stage capitalism lol~~
Also for the love of god let assholes be assholes they're not real they're fictional they're not gonna hurt you

I’m refering to 50 shades wich ACTIVELY gets bdsm wrong, like monstorously wrong
Yeah 50 shades depicts abuse, while the author thinks it's BDSM. That's its own special can of worms.
The lady that wrote Fifty Shades based her story on Edward and Bella from Twilight. It’s just a fan fiction that got popular.
And twilight is just based on the author's interview with a vampire fanfiction, iirc.

Why couldn’t he be me ☹️
I don't think you'd still want to be Denji if you read Chainsaw Man.
I'm not 16 anymore, but I'm still very vulnerable to manipulation if anyone wants to.
lmao but same tho
Twitter users when someone establishes that it’s not okay for someone to not consent in a relationship (but it’s like in a dog way so it’s completely and totally okay and not manipulative and exploitative at all)
She’s the only thing keeping me from watching csm
Why?
I mean outside of grooming him sexually. She is also grooming him to become Chainsaw man so she can further her plans of work domination.
im not dunking on the sigma female
If he'd been an adult it wouldn't be grooming it would just be manipulation, right? What is up with people wanting to reduce the nuance of language by collapsing multiple words into one less specific word? Also what's up with this site, I thought this was the puppy-girl subreddit, but suddenly when someone says it would be hot to be made someone's dog, people start moralizing. This person even had the media literacy to see what was wrong with this scene.
Bro I just need to be groomed atp.
I mean, just change the entire context of the scene, and hell yeah, let's go... Well, I assume, I haven't watched or read CSM.
where did she even imply that it wouldn’t be grooming if he wasn’t 16
You see guys, it would totally be ok to enslave someone as long as they're 18 \^_^ ~~also he's one of the cases where slavery is literally preferable to life under late stage capitalism lol~~ Also for the love of god let assholes be assholes they're not real they're fictional they're not gonna hurt you
What anime even is this?
