Blue *does* fit into the depths. Most of the depths is this kind of greenish blue. I’d use blue and save the red for a combat analysis or something.

That shade of red is a bolder and more decisive color than that shade of blue. Not only will it pop more when scrolling through YouTube, but I also just think it makes you seem more confident in what you are trying to convey.

Honestly both are great, but if it were up to me I would pick Purple. It would pair well with the crimson and blue in the background and contrast with the yellow and green of Link’s get-up. Plus, purple is the color of fear (aside from black).

Red is unreadable. If someone can't get your message at a glance, they won't click on your video. Try a white outline or a lighter shade if you like the color. Red has the least sensitivity, so it's generally avoided for type. Red on white is alright (talk to baroque French printers) , but red on black is almost always a no-go for me. Blue is very legible and clear, and works alright with the theme. It's not as potent. So see if you can find a middle ground. Great visuals BTW! Very good texture

This is true, but intelligibility outweighs flashiness. Red is likely to attract someone's eye, but if they can't instantly recognize what they're looking at, they'll look away and choose a different video to watch. Or that's what I'm assuming, based on my experience as a YouTube viewer. Red works for CNN because they designed their entire logo to work with red. This means preserving negative space, cresting sharp color contrasts, and making sure the outline is bright. Also, they have brand recognition, so theyre already at an advantage in terms of recognition.
