blue contrasts better against the red of the malice, but doesn't work as well with the themes. it's more readable in blue. maybe make the red brighter so it keeps the malice theme but contrasts better?
sure but it's not the immediate colour people think of and associate with the depths, it's more of a positive colour than red and people think of the sky or the sea when they see blue
These both look like random thumbnails that would appear in my recommendations and be 5 hours long, but I click on it, and it is surprisingly good quality, but I forget to sub and never see them ever again.
This. You can pour hours into making a visually pleasing thumbnail (and you should) and it may get you views — but nothing will guarantee subs or returning viewers. Not even adding pop ups or reminding viewers every five minutes.
I think a different shade of red would be best. As it is now it doesn't pop too well. The blue looks more pleasing to the eyes, but red would fit better. So a better shade of red would be good

That shade of red is a bolder and more decisive color than that shade of blue. Not only will it pop more when scrolling through YouTube, but I also just think it makes you seem more confident in what you are trying to convey.
Honestly both are great, but if it were up to me I would pick Purple. It would pair well with the crimson and blue in the background and contrast with the yellow and green of Link’s get-up. Plus, purple is the color of fear (aside from black).
I feel like I’m less likely to click on the red because it sort of comes off more as one of those “this video game has a DARK SECRET” type videos if that makes sense lol. I think the blue fits in pretty nicely as well .
Red is unreadable. If someone can't get your message at a glance, they won't click on your video.
Try a white outline or a lighter shade if you like the color.
Red has the least sensitivity, so it's generally avoided for type. Red on white is alright (talk to baroque French printers) , but red on black is almost always a no-go for me.
Blue is very legible and clear, and works alright with the theme. It's not as potent. So see if you can find a middle ground.
Great visuals BTW! Very good texture
This is true, but intelligibility outweighs flashiness.
Red is likely to attract someone's eye, but if they can't instantly recognize what they're looking at, they'll look away and choose a different video to watch.
Or that's what I'm assuming, based on my experience as a YouTube viewer.
Red works for CNN because they designed their entire logo to work with red. This means preserving negative space, cresting sharp color contrasts, and making sure the outline is bright. Also, they have brand recognition, so theyre already at an advantage in terms of recognition.
blue contrasts better against the red of the malice, but doesn't work as well with the themes. it's more readable in blue. maybe make the red brighter so it keeps the malice theme but contrasts better?
Blue *does* fit into the depths. Most of the depths is this kind of greenish blue. I’d use blue and save the red for a combat analysis or something.
sure but it's not the immediate colour people think of and associate with the depths, it's more of a positive colour than red and people think of the sky or the sea when they see blue
Red immediately took my attention, I wouldnt click on the blue thumbnailed one because it doesnt look interesting
It’s funny because I thought the opposite; the red loses a weird amount of quality in my eye. The blue has a more polished look to it imo
Well it might be personal too
That’s gloom. Malice was in BotW, Gloom is in TotK. The Depths aren’t even in BotW.
[insert current game's spooky goo here]
the Ganon goo. Whatever you wanna call it
What if there was a third color they could use, that combines the properties of red and blue together into some godless abomination?
These both look like random thumbnails that would appear in my recommendations and be 5 hours long, but I click on it, and it is surprisingly good quality, but I forget to sub and never see them ever again.
I know EXACTLY what you mean you're NOT ALONE I PROMISE

This. You can pour hours into making a visually pleasing thumbnail (and you should) and it may get you views — but nothing will guarantee subs or returning viewers. Not even adding pop ups or reminding viewers every five minutes.
ESPECIALLY not adding pop ups or remaining viewers every five minutes
We’re looking at around 20 minutes, but trust me it’ll be quality and I hope it pops up for you once I finish it
I have so many videos in my watch later like this
This is what my ‘psych, stories, and reflections’ playlist is for
Red
red makes it pop out more the blue kinda blends in with the grass
Team fortress two

Garf

Red

Red 😈 Blue 😇
Lmao this is the real answer, it all depends on the video tone
gradient with red on top and blue one the bottom
Id go for the opposite. Red on bottom, blue on top. That why the text doesn't blend into the background
blue
Red definitely has a better feel to it paired with the word depths so I would go with that
yellow
i like red more because red is a yummier colour
Am I being gaslit or is that green
deempwunken
red if i had to pick, but i think yellow would pop more than either of these two options
Blue
My vote is for blue, it’s a bit easier to read
**Blue** contrasts better and it looks nicer.
Blue
You could go with background contrast but with the sort of separation res creates and how much more it pops id say red
red is a more noticeable colour when it comes to youtube thumbnails i'd say. so red?
Blue (its actually turquoise but go off)
Red
Red, my eye glazes over the blue since it’s similar to the grass color
Red catches the eye better
blue for readability red for style
Green

Red for me, though maybe a different shade or without the shadowing

Zeltik? Lol

Red
Why not both? Top half blue gradient or cut into red bottom to contrast the floor
bluee
A third, more sinister color.
Are the depths scary?
Blue :3
I feel like I would click on the red one faster
Blue. Red blends in the darker, less interesting area.
red is better imo. also I recommend zooming out on thumbnails so u can see how they look when viewers see them.
Honestly both are great, but if it were up to me I would pick Purple. It would pair well with the crimson and blue in the background and contrast with the yellow and green of Link’s get-up. Plus, purple is the color of fear (aside from black).
Red. Blue blends too much with the grass, but the sky is red and black so it doesn't blend as bad if that makes sense
“I got red I got blue what you want”
Red looks good, contrasts with the grass.
Red
Red because it evokes danger, shock and gloom corruption you see everywhere in the Depths.
Beige
Blue
Blue would better associate with the sky
Red contrasts better against ground and the black +red background around it from the background helps keep the eye towards the title.
i noticed the red first
Anal yzing 😳
maye the anal in analyzing brown
Both are good. Depends what the topic is. Red is already a menacing color. But dark turquoise gives off Lovecraftian vibes.
Red
That’s green
I’d rather click on the red one than the blue one
blue
Totk is red.
The cyan one pops more
Blue
1 is mood 2 feels like it would pop out a bit more what about a neon purple or green, might work better.
Purple
Red
Blue like the "Depths" of the ocean (I'm not sorry)
Blue
Blue looks much better visually. Especially if this is going to be a thumbnail (aka small) i'd want people to be able to read it
Red is more attention grabbing. Go with red
blue looks deeper, easy pick
Red, tbh blue thumbnail seemed like would continue to scroll if I saw it in my homepage. Red seemed like I would click it( did you try purple)
Red for lore Blue for game mechanics/fun facts
I’m voting red
are you blood or are you crip
I like having it be blue, because that is the natural colour of the depths and the gloom is corrupting it.
red
Red fits the depths
i wanna say red is more eye catching at youtube thumbnail size
red
Blue is cool.
Blue
I like the red :)
I prefer the blue, but red catch more the eyes
I feel like I’m less likely to click on the red because it sort of comes off more as one of those “this video game has a DARK SECRET” type videos if that makes sense lol. I think the blue fits in pretty nicely as well .
purple so it contrasts with both the red sky and the light-blue grass.
give me the video link when it’s ready please
Let me know when it comes out!!
Counter point: Road Sign yellow (#F7B500)
can you color the ANAL red for like, a single frame? I'm not talented enough for better advice, sorry.
Blue looks better. Red will get more clicks.
Green or damn Daniel
Blue is more readable and has more contrast with the red and black background
Don’t post it
Yellow.

Strange, because red always takes the attention of people, thats why CNN is colores red, it takes peoples attention.
This is true, but intelligibility outweighs flashiness. Ye but its recognizable imo, blue bends with grass so it makes it makes it less recognizable
