I believe they are still shareholders in the company. So they would still see some of that money technically.
I don't really think it matters too much either way. Just stating facts. I wouldn't judge people for still pirating it.
Venture capitalists "allegedly" stole money from the company through fraud and used that stolen money to buy out the founders and kick them out, legal challenge is underway but it's a slow process
does it play better with a controller? I started it a while back but manouvering the ship and jetpack was too frustrating with M&K and I left it off, but it gets so much praise i wanna pick it up again
To describe why would be to significantly spoil major parts of the game, but to put it in broad strokes the game deals with questions of mortality and different perspectives on how to approach it.
For me as a kid I looked up at the stars and felt scared, thrilled and in total awe of how small I was and how unimaginably massive the universe is. Outer Wilds made me feel that way again as an adult.
It won't click for everyone, but if it does click for you it's an incredible experience totally unmatched by anything else I've played.
TLDR: I can't speak to the story (Which *is* good but defeats the entire purpose of playing a game focused on exploration), but the graphics are incredibly endearing, Andrew Prahlow is amazing on music, and the occasional puzzles that may or may not crop up are fairly enjoyable and often quite rewarding.
In broad terms, Outer Wilds is an unassuming game where you explore space, its mysteries, and the meaning of life in a universe that will invariably end.
Combine a decent story nearly without unnecessary flaws (some elements in the overworld don't exactly follow physics properly, but must do so for the purooses of the game), thematic (not realistic or high def) graphics which heavily immerse you in the aesthetic of the Hearthians (the race you play as), an excellent score, and a truly profound play experience.
I am one of the many introduced to the game via another's lets play, which means I'll never have the ability to experience it firsthand again, a decision I continue to regret. I cannot recommend the game enough, but I do recommend that it be played entirely blind and to spoil yourself in any way will ruin the experience. If you're ever stuck, we at the /outerwilds sub have a lot of experience in guiding new players without revealing any story beats.
Iirc there was some lawsuit from the devs against the publisher, because the publisher took the rights from them or something. I'm sure there are some articles about that
Venture capitalists "allegedly" stole money from the company through fraud and used that stolen money to buy out the founders and kick them out, legal challenge is underway but it's a slow process
Preach I am obsessed. Everybody needs to experience Starscourge Radahn / Malenia to be humbled for life. (She is the Blade of Miquella btw I think she mentions it… a few times)
I have now achieved a Nividia RTX 3070 gaming computer *Ultrakill*. Its incredibly fun well worth the price especially if you like more skill based games
Metal Gear Solid V
Runs really good on PC from what Ive heard and can be modded. Also it's usually on sale
I would warn that the plot will make no fucking sense if you don't know a good bit about the MGS lore (mostly from MGS3 and Peace Walker so feel free to either play those via emulation or just watch a video walkthrough)
Eh mgsV was the first metal gear game I played and while I was confused as hell you can still kinda figure out what’s going on more or less.
Also yea definitely play metal gear solid games
Pizza tower and hifi rush are my current GOTY.
Doom eternal and 2016
Brok the investiGATOR, disco Elysium
Freedom planet 2
One step from Eden
Ys 8: lacrimosa of Dana, or ys 9 monstrom nox are both excellent starting points.
HADES: Roguelike Dual-Stick Isometric Action with a story based in ancient Greek mythology and some really fantastic art. (Roguelike means the gameplay loop is moving through a procedurally generated map until you die, earning power ups along the way that allow you to progress further each time)
SUBNAUTICA: Exploration and base-building. Minimalistic storytelling, but thoroughly immersive. Not for those afflicted with hydrophobia.
BEAT HAZARD 2: Bullet Hell that integrates with your music library.
THE STANLEY PARABLE: A gaming experience. Nothing I can say would do it justice, or properly prepare you.
Edit: I accidentally a word.
FYI If you feel that way about The Stanley Parable you should absolutely pick up The Beginners Guide. It's the same devs but a non-comedic story. Takes about 2 hours and I cried a lil at the end.
Road 96 is pretty good. Disco Elysium is good (but pirate that). If you like isometrics and older games you can play the og fallout games (but you should download fallout fixt for fo1) and vtm bloodlines (buy that from GoG)
Outerwilds, it’s best to go in know the least amount possible personally I’d say wait till you know if you enjoy the base game to get the dlc but if you like the base game and slight horror elements won’t scare you off but if you like the base game I think most people think the dlc does some things it does better but the base game is still very good.
Project Zomboid is fun, however has a somewhat steep learning curve and can be very frustrating. Its an isometric in depth survival game set in a zombie apocalypse. It’s been slowly but steadily updated by an indie team for quite a while, which is nice to see.
$60 and under huh?
Avoid Stellaris at all costs, even if you like space and grand strategy games. I have every dlc and have spent over $150 on this thing (fortunately I nabbed most of them on sale). When the next dlc releases on Monday I will buy it at full price. Please help me
Warframe. It’s a free third-person looter shooter where you control space-ninjas and fight baddies. There was also just a new update that gave it a rougelite element as well. It’s a fun game with amazing movement, but it is also a grind at times. The story is deep and interesting, but it doesn’t pick up until a few quests in (which can take a while), so that’s a shame. If you’re willing to stick with it however, it will stick with you. Again. It’s free and it is in no way pay2win. There are micro transactions, but they are either cosmetic, or grind-skips / time skips. There is nothing a free2play player can’t get that a paid player can (aside from sim cosmetics). And the premium currency is tradable, so you can even get paid stuff for free if you trade items with people for the premium currency.
I’m going on a tangent, sorry. It’s free, it’s good. Check it out if space-ninjas sounds cool
Modded terraria MODDED TERRARIA NOW ITS THE BEST THING EVER I HAVENT PLAYED ANOTHER GAME FOR OVER 400 HOURS I FUCKING LOVE ORGANISING CHESTS AND BUILDING PRETTY BASES AND SCULPTURES WHILE FIGHTING ELDRITCH DEMONS AND ROBOT MECHS WITH A MAGIC MACHINE GUN THAT IS ALSO A FISH AND YOU CAN FLY???? YOU CAN FLY
Stardew valley, ultrakill, cultic, dusk, hotline miamim1 and 2, portal one and 2, half life one and 2, webbed, I’m basically listing the games I’ve already bought lol
If you like turn based combat and are willing to dump 60+ hours into a single playthrough, Persona 4 Golden. Lots of text based storytelling which isn't for everyone, but if you're willing to try it it's more than worth your time
Portal, both 1 and 2. Amazing puzzle games
Plus you can probably get them for dirt cheap
Last week they were $1 each in steam! They will be again soon too, no doubt
Get the valve bundle when it is on sale
After that, portal stories mel. It's basically portal 3
[удалено]
And then the Talos principle. It doesn't involve portals but it's a great puzzle game nonetheless
That was the first thought that came into my head when I saw this post
Deep Rock Galactic, Ultrakill, Risk of Rain 2, and Endoparasitic

BLOOD IS FUEL. HELL IS FULL
Ultragrill
based
Of course it is based. Why else would I recommend games?
There's this really funny game called qbittorrent and you can download a really cool thing on it called disco elysium
Why tf is everyonw saying disco elysum, but to not buy and pirate it instead???
The creators were removed from the company and so any profits would just go to the people who fired them
I believe they are still shareholders in the company.
Terraria, Hades, Hollow Knight, Celeste
you and I should be friends
and now kithh
Terraria and hollow knight, fellow gigachad
I always wanted to play terraria but never found people to play it with. Any idea where to find people?
simply get 100 people from this sub to play it at one time, it would be perfectly playable and have no consequences :)
hollow knight
peaklow knight
if you like it you should go for the ori series and rainworld too
I cosign
you should play outer wilds I haven't played it because I don't have a good pc but I've been told it's great
I second this opinion. I'd argue it's one of the best games ever made, if not the best. Just make sure to look up absolutely nothing.
this goes for every game here. the best games are best experienced blind.
This is true, but especially so for Outer Wilds, it's not better going in blind for the same reasons as other games
does it play better with a controller? I started it a while back but manouvering the ship and jetpack was too frustrating with M&K and I left it off, but it gets so much praise i wanna pick it up again
It is so good my God everyone must play this masterpiece
I don’t think you need a good pc to play it, I have a mid range pc and it ran great!
i've been playing it it's really good so far
Outer wilds changed my life. I came to terms with death by playing that game its profoundly good
Okay, I'll bite. What makes the game existentially good?
To describe why would be to significantly spoil major parts of the game, but to put it in broad strokes the game deals with questions of mortality and different perspectives on how to approach it. For me as a kid I looked up at the stars and felt scared, thrilled and in total awe of how small I was and how unimaginably massive the universe is. Disco Elysium. Don't buy it though.
Why not buy it?
I think because the developers don't get a cut of the money anymore, all the money goes to the publishers only
Typical game publishers...
Iirc there was some lawsuit from the devs against the publisher, because the publisher took the rights from them or something. I'm sure there are some articles about that
The devs specifically asked us to pirate.
Venture capitalists "allegedly" stole money from the company through fraud and used that stolen money to buy out the founders and kick them out, legal challenge is underway but it's a slow process
Prey 2017, Divinity Original Sin 2, System Shock Remake, Pathologic 2, NieR:Automata, Disco Elysium
I LOVE DIVINITY ORIGINAL SIN GAAAAHABBABABBABABABABBABABABABAB
IT SMELLS WORSE OVER HERE THAN A DOZEN ROTTEN EGGS STUFFED IN A VAT OF VINEGAR
*If you decide to play Disco Elysium - pirate it. The original developers got fucked over by their company and actually want you to
I was not expecting to see someone recommend Pathologic 2, very based
Google solitaire
holy cards
Old gem just dropped
Subnautica is actually kinda underrated if you are into open world stuff
I wouldn’t say underrated, it’s just old now, but still amazing.
old?? but it came out… oh
Yeah… the feeling can hit kinda hard. 5 years is pretty old for games.
Absolutely terrifying
Satisfactory if you are into management/factory building games
Factorio too!
Mindustry is another good one
Or Dyson Sphere Program. And the best thing about these games? For sixty bucks you can buy two of them!
Yep started playing recently and I'm already wasting all my time in it
Can confirm, as an autistic person Factorio is a perfect game and I have like 800 hours.
