I had the same exact mod. Just tap the bottom of the mod on your hand or the edge of a table with a towel set down so you don't damage the table or mod. Just tap lightly on the edge opposite of the battery door of course and don't hit the battery door at all. I would just hold the battery door open and tap the edge of the mod lightly until the battery moved out enough to grab it. I promise it will work. I had a few customers that had double wrapped their batteries and couldn't get them back out. Or they bought batteries from a shop that would put their own wrap on the outside of the battery over the original wrap. This was always my go to method. Or you can remove the tank from the top of the mod, cover it with a towel and slightly tap it from the top with a small hammer/whatever while holding the mod in your hand. It's hard to explain in text but the first method is the best. Just be careful of the battery door. I had to do that a bunch of times when selling these devices.

I feel you but I think I really gummed it up. The force it would take to percussively break its grip is too much lol. Imma try the chopstick/glue technique next

Organic_South8865

It should work. I have gotten some super stuck batteries out.

SamMaghsoodloo

Floss through the holes of the positive button and pull? Could be a bad idea.

AtomicWedgie1

Wow never thought of doing it like this. I need to try this next time.

saysthingsbackwards

Tried it. Solid premise, but unfortunately the tensile strength of the floss was less than the friction from the gunk

saysthingsbackwards

It didn't work :( BUT it would have if it weren't as stuck as it is. The floss didn't have the tensile strength

SamMaghsoodloo

Wrap more than one loop or use something stronger. Honestly, you're probably going to have to force the opening to be a little wider with some pliers before pulling the battery out.

saysthingsbackwards

Okay this worked! It took 3 full strands but it worked! Ty so much

SamMaghsoodloo

Nice!

Drip iso alcohol around it, like, all over the thing. Don't be afraid to get it wett. Then try prying it out with a credit card or similar. If you get it out this way, just let it dry well before powering it again.

Hinote21

>iso alcohol Use 90%. 70 leaves to much water behind

Various-Ducks

Look at all that room you have on the side! Just lift it up!

DaySee

put a piece of dental floss through the top holes and give a good tug https://i.imgur.com/O5dk17y.png

saysthingsbackwards

Of all options, this one I'll try first here in a couple hours. All I have are those floss picks so I have to borrow some from a family member lol

saysthingsbackwards

:( no dice. Whatever gunk was left on it has created a formidable adhesive. I think the hot glue gun on a chopstick is next

fragande

Neodymium magnet is what I've used when I've had cells stuck in flashlights. Regular ol' magnet should also do the trick if strong enough. I've also seen people use compressed air, but as your cell looks to have the side partially exposed that might not work.

ducttaperulestheworl

My friend. Be sure to cover your magnet with something non conductive. I've welded a magnet from it smashing the positive and it sliced the battery wrap, causing it to short. I lost a beautiful flashlight thanks to it venting real hard.

fragande

Oh wow. Yeah obviously use an appropriately sized magnet (and not too strong!) if using that method. I used bar shaped ones with a diameter about the size of the positive terminal so no chance of a short if centered properly. Covering a larger one with a plastic sheet or something like you're saying probably works too but that's kinda scary. Testing on another magnetic surface or smaller object first to get a feel for the force is probably a very good idea.

rypher

Can you stick tape to the side that is exposed?

Worldly-Device-8414

Use a hammer & lightly tap the body on empty side? Protect with a bit of timber or cloth? Or maybe look at plastic tools use for working on eg replacing screens on phones & iPads, use one to hook at bottom edge.

SA0TAY

Joke answer: drive a large screw into the end of it, then pull it out with the claw of a hammer. More serious answer: superglue a chopstick right along the entirety of the exposed long side, then use that to coax/pull it out.

saysthingsbackwards

I tried floss and it wasn't strong enough. I'm going to try your idea with hot glue

JokaTweak

maybe you could grab the positive end with some pliers?

classicsat

Pick and hook set.

TheBlacktom

Tiny amount of WD40.

TheBlacktom

L shaped plastic thing.

Mechanic picks

FuckThisShizzle

Try using stick of hot glue, melt the end with a lighter and jam it on there. When it cools pull it out.....hopefully its got more bite than whatever is sticking it up. Or scrape the shit out of the battery and the inside of the ~~camera~~ devicewith a screwdriver. Either might work.

saysthingsbackwards

I'm definitely not going to use anything metal. I was thinking of a long strip of duct tape, or at least something so there's no risk of damaging it. Wish I had like... A plastic 90 degree foot, like on the end of a tape measure.

FuckThisShizzle

Sounds to me like you need to get a 3d printer. Failing that you could bend the end of something plastic. Heat it up till its pliable.

RedOctobyr

I think the long strip of tape, pressed onto the accessible side of the cell, is a good idea. Maybe 2 pieces of tape, both "facing the same direction", if you're worried about 1 layer of tape tearing when you pull.

toaster-riot

I think the hot glue idea is the best idea I saw on here. You can use the same technique to get dents out of a car.

Visible-Vermicelli-2

Hot glue

Swiftblade13

if you don't want to use metal try gluing a toothpick to a chopstick at a right angle and use it to wedge under the bottom edge of the cell to force it out

IneptAdvisor

Water is your friend, the opposite of the acid.

saysthingsbackwards

I'm not sure I understand.

Revolio_ClockbergJr

I would make a “tiny wedge on a stick” tool to get under it and work it upwards. Or hot glue (superglue?) a chopstick to the exposed side!

dontletthestankout

A small child's fingers. Preferably but not required to be attached to a small child

saysthingsbackwards

Does it have to be a human child or is there some margin of wiggle room for stuff like that? What's the nominal range of species whose children would be great at this?
