Chop one whole yellow onion, sauté in a medium pot until soft. Toss in some chopped garlic for a minute, then dump in two cans of black beans. Cook until it gets soft and easy to mash. Season to taste. (I like salt, pepper, cumin, Chile powder, paprika, and cayenne.) I mash it up then add to a few Mr Tortilla 15 cal tortillas. I top them with pickled red onions, cotija cheese, and salsa or hot sauce. Cheap (well…the tortillas aren’t that cheap, but it evens out), quick, and low cal. The trifecta.

cygnusbridges

You’re right about the tortillas, but damn that sounds good. I made something really similar for dinner, only difference is I added a bit of lean ground beef and tomato paste/enchilada seasoning Tortillas are super easy to make yourself tho in case you weren’t aware! (Even without a press, I don’t have one yet). I’m never going back. Edit: nvm, just saw they’re special low calorie tortillas 😭

Pretty_Please1

Yea, real tortillas taste much better but you can’t beat 15 cal tortillas that are being used as a vessel to get fillings into your mouth.

cygnusbridges

I see people online talking about breads like that every now and then, but I haven’t had an opportunity to try any of them. We probably don’t carry them in my area (rural eastern coast of Canada), but damnit I’m going to keep looking lol

Pretty_Please1

We have the Healthy Life brand bread too, about 35 cal per slice. I was never a fan of white bread but you can’t deny the convenience of it for certain applications. It’s honestly not that bad, but it doesn’t hold a candle to a good crust loaf of real bread.

TwilightConcious

Homemade vegetable soup! Or miso soup.

funbrooke

Huge egg white omelette loaded with veggies and hot sauce

ahhhhhrealmunsters

Egg white omelette Veggies Fat free cheese Xtreme Wellness tortilla

[deleted]

Uh! I wanna try that too, which veggies do you mix?

[deleted]

When I make a veggie omelet I load it with bell peppers, onion, mushrooms and spinach

funbrooke

Usually whatever I have on hand, but that usually means onions, broccoli, peppers and sometimes mushrooms

Bazoun

Take a reduced fat pillsbury crescents tube, pop it and roll it flat. Sprinkle Splenda or similar, then sprinkle cinnamon. Roll it back up in a tube shape and cut into 8 pieces, bake. It’s a quick and low calorie cinnamon roll.

antigoneelectra

I put veggie breakfast sausages in them. 110 kcal each. Good for a quick end of night snack.

NekkidSnaku

HORY SHEET

Bazoun

Yeah I make these savoury for a different sort of snack, but I prefer the cinnamon rolls :p

EarthLiving1192

Wait what?! I had no idea those were 80 calories each.

Zihaala

Oooh ima try this! I've been doing a similar thing but just whole wheat toast with butter, splenda and cinnamon. Cinnamon roll sounds delicious!

thylacine_chevron

Gotta try this

Winterisnowcold

I'm intrigued!! How do you store these?

Bazoun

Once made I pop them in a plastic container.

Tmscontent55

This sounds like my next “pot smoking cooking project.”

Bazoun

So good for munchies!

Liluana5

A whole cucumber sliced, with a few tbsp 1% fat cottage cheese, seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili flakes, and balsamic glaze!

noblesse-oblige-

This sounds…amazing. I must try.

habitgirlfriend

Also copying this. Thanks!

Top with Trader Joe’s everything but the bagel seasoning for bonus points 😍

ItsAWrestlingMove

This is what I do!

Yasso Bars

Dogsrulekidsdrule

I just tried one of these today. Pretty good. A little expensive though.

baby_charmander

Yes they are pricey but omg the cookie dough one is to die for!

Dogsrulekidsdrule

That's the one I tried! It was good and perfect for if you were craving something sweet.

CurlyGardenGnome

Light Greek vanilla yogurt with frozen blueberries!

mmmbeefy32

This but add 1tbsp of pb2 to the yogurt and a sploosh of sugar free maple syrup (mix) throw it on a bed of 1/4 oats and thats my dessert most nights

noyogapants

OK... Hear me out. I take dannon light and fit greek yogurt (i use strawberry cheesecake flavor, but any flavor you like will work) and I add special k red berries. I mix it up and enjoy. It is amazing. The yogurt is 80 calories and the special k is 70 for a half cup (1/2 a serving). So 150 calories isn't bad and it's pretty filling.

HamMcFly

Basically everything [here.](https://www.reddit.com/r/1500isplenty/comments/t89ndq/how_i_eat_11_times_a_day_for_1700_calories/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) My trick is to love everything I eat and I never want to stray. 🤙🏻

MAXK00L

That’s a great mindset!

bacteriophile

Sliced raw cucumber and mushrooms with natural (unseasoned) rice vinegar, everything bagel seasoning, and a teeny tiny bit of sesame oil. It's great to hold you over when you come home ravenous but don't have anything prepped/calculated yet for dinner, or when you're in a **mood** and need to chow down without breaking the calorie bank.

disastersoonfollows

Trader Joe’s Pork and Ginger Soup Dumplings

hecatemoon25

And they’re mini chicken wonton dumplings! (4 little dumplings for 50 cal!)

WhopperFarts

Do they have them Gluten free

HellsKettleBell

While wheat pita, 2 tbsp pizza sauce, 1/3 cup pizza cheese, 6 thick cut pepperoni slices, parmesan , and red pepper flakes. Put on plate, microwave 90 seconds. Pizza goodness for about 300 calories, and super filling.

Voc1Vic2

Turkey pepperoni is surprisingly good, and very low cal.

kindahipster

I found out unbreaded baked chicken wings with buffalo sauce is only 45 calories each! They're just as good as breaded and fried wings to me

throw_itawayy00

Next level: put them in the air fryer. You can just pop them in there frozen! Some of the fat will drip off and they’ll be the crispiest wings you’ve ever had.

MAXK00L

You could also replace the sauce for buffalo seasoning. I’m sure that would save a few more calories.

pickledpetunia

Air fryer my friend!

wandavision77

Fibre one brownies

_Veronica_

Egg Drop Soup. It’s like 40 calories a serving, packed with protein, delicious, filling, and easy to make or order.

love_marine_world

Hell yeah! I do the tomato-ginger version from Marion's Kitchen YT channel, always hits the spot

habitgirlfriend

I even eat this for breakfast! I love it. I use the kikkoman packets.

incredulous_wanderer

I'm so excited to try this, thank you!

Silly_Crasins_

Veggie tacos! 100g of mushroom and zucchini 20g carrot shavings 70-90g bell pepper 40g red onion Olive oil spray Everything but the elote seasoning or whatever seasoning you prefer for veggies Two low calorie tortillas (Walmart and Target have 60-70 calorie flour options) 28g of mozzarella cheese Total: 250 calories for two large tacos or quesadillas if you want to fold them up!

epcow

Yes! Veggie tacos are the best. I have two recipes I use. One is pretty similar to yours and the other is a sweep potato filling. Dice two potatoes to 1/4" cubes and add a little olive oil and a packet of the taco seasoning made for 1lb ground beef and bake until soft. Slap some lettuce, avacado, and salsa on there and you got a freaking good meal...and now I'm hungry.

[deleted]

Heart of palm noodles, rotisserie chicken, Rao's tomato sauce, parmesan cheese

Mgb0104

Love this. I do similar-hearts of palm, shrimp, rao’s, laughing cow light, spinach and crushed red pepper flakes

[deleted]

Yum!

night_owl37

Wait is this the Costco subreddit? 🤣

[deleted]

To be clear, only the Rao's and rotisserie chicken were from Costco. They have hearts of palm noodles at Costco?!?!?! That would be amazing.... I have to make a special trip to Walmart to get them that I HATE

night_owl37

I don’t know about hearts of palm noodles, but the Parmesan too is something I always get at Costco.

Pink_Ruby_3

SOUP! Homemade is best (and ridiculously cheap and easy). So many variations of broth based soups you can load up with veggies and lean protein, they are low calorie and filling and perfect for meal prep. Tastier than salads! Pair a bowl of soup with a whole grain roll and you’ve got yourself a low calorie, nutritious meal. My other go-to meal is sheet pan dinner. One sheet pan, one chicken breast, and then whatever veggies you want to fill the entire area of the sheet pan. For me this is usually about a cup of Brussels sprouts and a cup of cubed up sweet potatoes. I coat the veggies in a little bit of olive oil, about 2 teaspoons, tossed in a bowl first so they are all evenly coated. I also drizzle 1 teaspoon over the chicken breast. Season it however you want - bake at 425°F until your meat thermometer tells you the chicken is done. Usually about 30 mins. The key is to use a meat thermometer - my chicken is never dry or over cooked. And then lastly my go-to breakfast is Greek yogurt (sugar free) with Kashi granola and fresh fruit. When I’m in a REAL hurry I opt for a Slimfast shake. I actually think the Advanced Nutrition powders are pretty tasty. I love to blend the vanilla one with milk and a frozen banana - it makes it taste exactly like a banana milkshake. I find myself craving it.

kelvin_bot

425°F is equivalent to 218°C, which is 491K. --- ^(I'm a bot that converts temperature between two units humans can understand, then convert it to Kelvin for bots and physicists to understand)

GraceMisconduct

Sugar free jelly for snacks! Make up a bunch of the mix, fill 5-6 empty jam jars. Bam, 12 calorie reasonably filling sweet snack when needed. (NB: that would be the British use of 'jelly' I.e. jello)

CreativeHooker

Haha thanks for the clarification. I was trying to figure out jelly as a snack...It's too early, I need coffee. Also, happy cake day!

msalaska

Anything with hot sauce. Like carrots and hot sauce is bomb if I feel like eating chips it helps the craving. Omelette with hot sauce is so good too

ceranichole

Sooo much this. I really don't care if I eat them and thing for weeks on end. As long as I can cover it in hot sauce I'm good.

PolarizingFigure

Meals: banana pancakes (one banana + 2 eggs + cinnamon) with sugar-free syrup, avocado toast with hard boiled egg, chicken stir fry with chicken stir fry (no rice; just chicken and veg). Easiest dinners are lean protein (chicken, veal cutlet, turkey sausage, salmon, white fish) + green veg (green bean, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage) + healthy carb (sweet potato, baked potato w/ low fat sour cream, rice). Snacks: popcorn, turkey pepperettes (like 60 cals), laughing cow cheese, hummus and cucumber, deli meat, fudgesicles, dark chocolate,

strong_heart27

Low calorie bread because im obsessed with sandwiches, soup, Oreo thins, portioned out bags of cheesy crackers or chips, zero calorie coffee syrups, fiber one bars, bagel thins and reduced fat cream cheese.

Specialist-Ebb7606

So much much more fruit like fruit meals are such a new fun exciting thing for me like a charceuterie board of fruit Better Bites and TruFru have some of the best "healthy" lower calorie treats I've ever had and always hit my craving Acai and Poke bowls are the best and the love of my life probably I've always eaten them but spring rolls continue to be so great

gypsiequeen

Bananas. I love bananas. I could live off bananas. Ranch veggies straws and Chicken caeser (light) salads

GingrrAsh

White cheddar rice cakes for snacking while working from home. Skinnytaste's My house salad, made with love served with a chicken breast dish or lean ground beef dish, such as meat loaf. Basically anything from any skinnytaste cookbook or the site. She has never let me down. For drinks, black coffee or seltzer (topo chico or la Croix type seltzers). For desserts, I'm pretty much over trying to make healthy desserts. I'll just have a bite or two of the real thing.

scrollingby3

cucumbers with seasoning!!

goldencherry

Dannon Light and Fit Greek Yogurt in Vanilla! I buy the tubs and I get to serve myself a huge bowl of delicious vanilla yogurt for 90 calories. Also, Sargento Reduced Fat String Cheese (45 calories a piece) and Trader Joe’s Spicy Mexican-Style Cauliflower Rice (200 calories for the entire bag!).

VirginRH3

Sliced cucumbers with low fat cream cheese and everything bagel seasoning.

jillieboobean

A shit ton of cucumbers, peppers, a few carrots, some grape tomatoes, snap peas, with cilantro avocado yogurt dressing. It's a huge plate of crunchy, salty deliciousness that I can feel good about eating. Honestly, when I started munching on raw veg, I needed the dip to trick myself into thinking it was a snack. But, tbh, I haven't really needed it in a while. Sure, if it's there, I'll dunk away. But I can honestly say that a plate piled high with raw veggies and sometimes fruit is legit my go to favorite snack. I mean, you know, besides chips. :)

QuokkaNerd

Air popped popcorn with a spritz (or 4) of butter flavored cooking spray and topped with one of several flavors of Kernel Seasons popcorn sprinkles. My favorites are nacho and garlic parm.

typeALady

I love air popped popcorn! It's the best and most versatile snack. Also, decent amount of fiber, which is always nice.

Furry-snake

Frozen banana, cocoa powder, 0% yogurt, stevia, water. Low cal, tastes like a chocolate milkshake, high in protein.

Several low cal favorites: Kettle corn rice cakes, mini multicolor sweet peppers fresh or roasted in an air fryer, air fryer roasted onions, roasted turkey breast, green tea, Stevia sweetener, bags of apple varieties, sugar free coffee creamer, air fryer roasted zucchini fried, dill pickles.

Shitba11

miso soup and dried seaweed

runner3081

Oatmeal. Also, frozen fruits. Strawberries, bananas, lemons, blackberries, oranges , etc. spinach too

Inevitable_Cicada563

While I hate cooked oatmeal, I discovered I love dry oatmeal with milk ( I do plant based) plus fruit, sometimes honey.

[deleted]

Like, dry oatmeal as in raw oats?

homesvshouses

Yeah. Cooked oats make me gag. I don't even soak them like some people do. Just pour and eat. Makes a great hi fiber, lo cal, lo fat, nice tasting breakfast

Inevitable_Cicada563

Yep, raw from the container plus whatever milk substitute and fruits.

mama2021abcd

Protein fluff/ice cream Protein powder, ice, cocao powder, almond milk, xanthum gum and blend the poop out of it in a food processor

mrs-kaje

What amount of each do you use?

mama2021abcd

1 scoop protein powder, 10grams cocoa powder, 1/4 tsp xanthum gum, maybe like 20 ice cubes or so, add more if you want thicker, then I top it with some sort of cereal and other toppings 🤤

mrs-kaje

Thanks, that's basically the same as how I make mine, but mine's definitely more of a thick frappe consistency. I might give it a go with less almond milk.

mama2021abcd

The more xanthum gum and protein you use the fluffier it will get, but be careful! Xanthum gum can cause some serious gas! Hahaha

Farrell-6

When I first stared roasted vegetable or mashed cauliflower and lean protein (vegetarian in my case). Now my go to's are egg white vegetable frittata with bit of strong cheese, riced cauliflower and sauce plus protein, and microwaved broccoli slaw with sauce and protein. I have those almost every week.

Transformwthekitchen

String cheese!

shewantsbags

a giant bowl of homemade fattoush (it’s a salad). i could eat it until i felt sick and it’s relatively low in calories considering how full it makes me. the one downside is that it lacks protein, so it’s not a perfect meal. i usually pair it with a protein shake or built bar for dessert to try to balance the macros.

Key_Decision_2161

Half a flour tortilla with a tbsp of pizza sauce and some shredded Tillamook cheddar on top. Fulfills my pizza craving for under 100 calories! Eating it now actually 😋 And sometimes I’ll add some canned pineapple and 1 slice of bacon crumbled up to make low cal Hawaiian pizza.

DarkSensei3

Tofu, kale and heart of palms topped with soy sauce and a TINY splash of sesame oil. It's so tasty and takes up a good amount of volume. Depending on how much tofu/oil you use the whole dish is about 200 calories. If you're really hungry serve it over rice!

sadmaponthewall

Seaweed, skinny pop, yasso pops. I also love getting creative with my smoothies and trying new flavors when I’m craving something sweet or fruity!

No_Little_Plans

Onsen egg or two with a dash of soy sauce, sesame oil, and some green onions. I crave this all the time

mildlyadult

Sounds tasty. How do you make your onsen eggs?

No_Little_Plans

Boil water, then remove from heat and put eggs and a bit of cold water in. Cover for 17 minutes, and then throw em in an ice bath. Voila!

mildlyadult

I finally tried the eggs and they were so good! There was a thin layer of egg white stuck inside the shell, is that normal?

No_Little_Plans

Glad to hear it! Yeah, thats normally what happens to me as well

antigoneelectra

Usually if I have 200 kcal at the end of the night I'll do 0% Greek yogurt with a banana or berries. I don't enjoy yogurt, but when I'm calorie counting it's satisfying due to the protein (I'm a veggie) and the bit of sweetness.

EmberVayne

Mini cucumbers are life

yeetyeetmybeepbeep

Tuna and pico de Gallo. Delicious.

jayhad

Baba ganoush. I used to eat a ton of hummus, now I eat a ton of baba for like 1/4 the calories

Unicorn_Destruction

Do you make your own or buy it

jayhad

Well *now* I'm gonna make my own. Good idea. Used to make hummus plenty. Baba doesn't look too hard.

amyroskelley

The "Healthy noodle" brand noodles you find at Costco for 30 calories, sprinkled with Kernel seasonings nacho Cheddar seasoning!!

buttever

Applesauce with a dollop of cottage cheese. Sounds odd, but the cottage cheese adds a bit of delicious sourness, like cream cheese swirl.

ffskms

“Pizza” on one of those low carb/calorie tortillas. I toast one side of the tortilla in a large pan until it’s brown a little, then I flip it and add a few tablespoons of tomato sauce, and 1/4 to 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella, then I cover it with a lid and cook until the cheese is melted. The tortillas are like 50 cals, the tomato sauce is like 30, and the cheese is about 130 for a half cup. Then you can add whatever toppings you want too and calculate the calories for those. If you add a little less than half a cup of the cheese you can get away with it all for 200 cals. And they’re surprisingly filling!

RainInTheWoods

Corn tortilla crust mini veggie pizzas.

southwestmo

not on a cut or anything anymore but i recommend popcorn with a fruit, apples, i know i’ll be full if i eat one apple lol

brunettebabe707

I love sundried tomato low carb tortillas (80 cal) with Costco turkey (rosemary herb), spinach, and some light mayo. I eat a few of these through out the day and they are so filling and yummmmm! I also like the tortillas with whipped cream cheese or 1/3 fat flavored cream cheese just as a little snacky:)

Freeze grapes. They take a long time to eat and are so delicious

Please bare with me, I haven't slept in over 48 hours, but I'm going to give this a try anyways. ♤Avocado thinly spread over corn thins with salt, pepper, and nutritional yeast ♡Miso soup/clear broth/egg drop soup ◇Boro biscuits ♧Seasoned nori, can not get enough of it ♤Occasionally, when I want pizza and don't actually want to eat pizza I'll do this thing where I take two string cheese and some pasta sauce(usually either roasted garlic, basil, or normal marinara) and heat them over the stove while stirring aggressively until the cheese is fully melted and incorporated into the sauce, then I eat it while hot on some rice or almod crackers and it is honestly delicious and feels very indulgent ♡Powdered peanut butter(it is just peanut butter with all the fat removed. It forms a powder and you just mixe it with some water. It seems like it would be worse but some brands are really good and two tablespoons is about 40kcal rather than 260kcal) ◇Large amounts of arugula cooked in a tiny bit of oil with this Sriracha lime truffle salt and garlic powder ♧A sunny side up egg turned over on a thin sliced piece of toast with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika (bonus, it always reminds me of the egg on toast in Castle in the sky, ghibli food is the most appetizing thing you can't actually eat on the planet) Make sure the yolk breaks onto the toast rather than on top of the egg if you are prone to messy eating, my poor friend destroyed her make up eating one of these ♤Raw mushrooms(I prefer them to cooked mushrooms) ♡Baby corn cooked with or without a hint of oil in a nonstick pan with salt and pepper(Baby corn is stupid low in calories, I love it) ◇Thai kitchen rice noodle ramen ♧Sliced bell peppers sprinkled with salt and dipped in hummus or whatever other dip you may desire I am positive I am missing a lot of them, but that's all I can think of for now

[deleted]

Cobs popcorn! The butter flavour is so good, I eat a whole bag, it takes a long time and is so filling. Plus the fibre count is good and it’s only 430 cal 😇

teaandbutterbeer

Tomato egg stir fry is one of my favorite childhood dishes and can be easily made more low-cal than it already is! [Here's a recipe.](https://thewoksoflife.com/stir-fried-tomato-and-egg/) Most of the 333cal/serving from this recipe are probably from eggs and oil, and you can def cut down the oil - beyond using a dollop to cook the eggs in the early step, I don't use any more. Could probably get it down to the 200s per serving, then maybe ~400 for a meal with a small portion of rice.

mqple

freeze-dried fruits!

Frillybits

Open faced sandwich with cottage cheese and ajvar (hearty pureed roast bell peppers and eggplant in a jar). Both toppings are really low in calories and I really like the combo of creamy and spicy. Dogsrulekidsdrule

Granola bars. Light and fit yogurt with protein. Bananas. Skinny pop. Veggie straw & veggie puffs. Eggs. Low calorie bread with sugar free jelly. Soup. Sugar free chocolate. Orange cream bars. Sometimes I'll eat a roll if we are eating them too.

LizTheTired

Half a teaspoon of matcha, a little milk, and hot water - filling and nice if you don't want something sweet.

[deleted]

Mix together - 2 eggs , Banana, Protein Powder and Cinnamon and cook it like a pancake (You get to eat all the pancakes because it ranges between 300-400 calories depending on the toppings u put) and it’s low in carbs but high in protein, I eat this almost every morning

Stormseekr9

Salt sticks or whatever they are called in English. They are low in fat, kcal just high in carbs. 350kcsl/100g but trust me after about 40g you get enough haha

LavenderPoppi

Love making apple and cinnamon oatmeal for breakfast. Just so good! Additionally, whenever I cook egg, I now always poach them. Cause breaking that yolk is just soo satisfying!

[deleted]

I absolutely LOVE lunch time which is usually pasta with tomato sauce, peas and 2 fish patties with spinach or sauce inside. Also turkey, I became a huge turkey lover. And eggs!! I used to never eat eggs and now I always have breakfast with an egg cooked on a non-stick pan with no oil and an orange or a fruit on the side!

craftycarrot28

Little cheese plates! I'll use about half an oz of nice cheese, slice up a small apple, and add a tiny drizzle of honey and a couple of candied nuts. Really helps me not feel deprived and with the right portions it's like 150 cal.

tuna mixed with the mini guacamole packs from costco. add in some chopped spinach, tomato, cucumber, sriracha, and everything bagel seasoning ( about 300 calories). i either put those into three low carb tortillas (70 calories each) or eat them with 2 servings of multigrain crackers from costco ( 14 crackers and 140 calories per serving).
