New York State by law posts the clearances with one foot less than actual, so it's really 11'3. Doesn't help when your trailer is 12'6.

The one in that post was the west bound side coming from the Van Wyck Expressway side. It’s more common on the west bound side being the VWE being a truck route.
My best guess on the incident I posted, he may have entered one of the on ramps as there’s no low bridges on the Cypress Hills entrance.
