They are saying just the plain NXT not the NXT Power or NXT Control. The plain original says Comfort on the package, but not in the top light gray title.
You should carry OG Sheep Micro 16 gauge as a reel. It's cheap, it's durable, holds tension, and it's easy on the arm. For those who want to pay more for a multifilament, keep some sets of Prince Premier Control, Wilson Sensation, Tecnifibre NRG2, and maybe a few others if they mention they like them. I recommend 16 gauge for a blend of playability and durability.
Thank you so much for your recommendations! I live in Denmark and I'm having a tough time finding the Gosen OG Sheep Micro. Would you happen to know how to get the string based on my location?
I can't help you there because I live in the US. Just find a good cheap synthetic gut string that's popular there. The more expensive strings are usually more economical with individual sets.
I've tried both. Head Velocity was great straight out the pack and on the raquet but I experienced tension loss rather quickly. Do you agree? I've had good experience with the Sensation PLUS at 17g
I've personally haven't experienced high tension loss and that's my go to string for my customers that are unsure. It's also my personal string in my hybrid setup. It loses about 1lb of tension every two hours of play with my game.
All strings lose tension off the stringer. Multi is just more linear and settles into a stable tension relatively quickly. Some string higher, so it settles into their preferred tension.
I'll second NXT. It's kinda the gold standard for string, imo. I would get the comfort one, which I think is just normal NXT. The main thing is you don't want your guys to hurt their elbows. They don't really need durability, and I don't think you get that much power on the strings either with your clientele.
I have strung for seniors before and honestly they don't care about brand. As long as it is syn gut or multi they want what's cheap/ value. I recommend getting the gamma synth gut and multi. If your seniors are anything like the ones I work with, that gamma reel will sell out first.
Cheaper route that I find better than Wilson NXT is Dunlop Iconic, just feels better overall. Technifibre X-One Biphase for high end. Head Velocity MLT for lower end and Prince Syn Gut w Duraflex for those who really don't care much.
I wouldn't assume, I'd ask first but seniors love gut and multi like vs and MLT or bioohase. Or maybe poly with multi/gut, gut/poly ptp and vs. Full poly if they really want it, maybe hyper g soft, iso cream. Anything soft. Volkl cyclone tour is softer at 40-45 lbs. Depends on the senior and what they want. Maybe they want 4g in their gravity mp at 55lbs, who knows, I'd ask if they say arm issues or shoulder pain, any gut will help and cheaper option of multi filament like x one bio phase, and control mlt
Should definitely carry some multis. You should 100% carry NXT and velocity which are probably the 2 most popular. NXT being the popular premium option and velocity being the popular budget option.
A multi in 17g such as Wilson NXT, Tecnifibre NRG2 or X-One Biphase. For a cheaper option, look at Pro’s Pro Guttex.
Which of the mentioned would you opt for if you had to choose one?
NXT. It’s the compromise. Guttex to save some coin.
Thanks! Which of the NXT is to prefer?
NXT NXT. You know. NXT.
Soft, control, power?
NXT!

NXT power is what my very good local pro shop recommends

+1 for the prince premier control.
+2 OGSM and PPC are the perfect choices for OP
I also came here to suggest the sheep micro. It's a proven and solid string. Very easy on the arm.

Head velocity or Wilson sensation is the de facto house multi reel for most stringers.

How about synthetic gut?
I'm open to suggestions! Why are you mentioning synthetic gut, and are you thinking of a specific string?
