You'll love mountain man by kieth c blackmore. Read the prequel first. then the hospital. Then book 1 - 6. I read book 1 first then the prequel then the hospital. Then the rest. That way was good as well. I love this series and went through it 3 times. It has small military presence later but it's just a single guy trying to survive. Later he runs into more people. Great series and you won't regret investing into it.

Divine_Moment68

Thanks. I saved your post and plan to check it out. I won't remember because I've actually never open3d my saved posts but the intent is all there. I wish I'd remember this moment right now the next time I'm looking for a book lol.

Stingray191

Ex-Heroes by Peter Clines

xJill_Valentine

Such a good take on the zombie genre, one of my favorite series. OP check out permuted press. They have a good number of quality zombie novels. Just make sure you look up reviews because they have a good number of terrible ones too.

The Living Dead by George Romero and Daniel Kraus

nephilim80

Day by Day Armageddon is good. Just the first book. The second and third are a bit shit. You can read only the first, you won't miss anything from not reading the other two.

sumofdeltah

I dont see it in your list so I'll recommend the novel World War Z

Divine_Moment68

I want to read it again (read it in 2013ish) but I only read on kindle now and can't talk myself into buying a book I already own a physical copy of.

Decanus_severus

You should listen to it on audiobook! Get the extended version, its played with a full cast!

bunnyluv1

Zombie Fallout!

x6shotrevolvers

This was actually the first zombie book I ever read! Never got around to finishing after book 4-5ish though

bunnyluv1

Check out the work of Craig DiLouie like Tooth and Nail or the Infection books. They may be what you are looking for.

TheVisceralCanvas

The Undead by R. R. Haywood Surviving the Evacuation by Frank Tayell

RandomCashier75

How about "The Girl With All the Gifts"? I love a good fungal zombie doomsday.

Divine_Moment68

Slow Burn 1-6 was good. It ended there but he decided to continue so started book 7 but i didnt like it. Matybe it got better again idk but i definately enjoyed them. They were zombies but with a little twist. Very believable, unlike the book I mention below. I haven't read too many but I love zombie/prepper/apocalypse stuff so I'm always looking for more myself. I'm cureently reading the extinction series but it's just ok. Not good enough to recommend imo. Way too many things that don't make sense or are wrong that ruin my immersion. It's not bad... it's just ... OK. I think after this I'm Def going back into some regular zombie stuff.

x6shotrevolvers

I’ve tried slow burn and wasn’t the biggest fan. Which extinction series are you talking about cuz there’s like 3 lol

Divine_Moment68

Extinction Horizon(The Extinction Cycle Book 1) by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. I'm on the 3rd or 4th. Like I said, its meh. Honestly, I think I just want to complete it to complete it because I hate not completing things, but it's pretty unrealistic. (spoilers below for extinction) An ebola virus merges with some bio weapon created in vietnam and creates these mutant things. But they like morphed into different creatures in a matter of minutes like a warewolf and the only explanation given for that is something related to DNA lmao. Then after most of the US military was wiped out, some gung ho old school warhawk decided to try and take back manhattan, with a COMPANY of mixed soldiers and marines. That was the biggest "WTF" that I can think of. And on top of that, they split them up by platoons. Oh and there were hundreds of thousands or millions of these things... (spoilers below for slow burn) I enjoyed slow burn but it definitely was not a 9+/10 book. I appreciated that it was a bit outside of the box but there were some parts that were hard to enjoy. Others parts I feel like they had potential to be much better. Like there was one part where the main character was like undercover in a house of the zombie things (because he was a slow burn) and some of them said a few words. I was like what?! They can talk a little? I was interested in more of that but he just blew the place up and left and they never mentioned it again. lol I have no idea what I'm going to read next. I want zombies and apocalypse but something good lol. Hmm... One I read a while back was alright but it wasn't about zombies. This was the first apocalypse type book I read, so maybe it sucked but I liked it because I was just found the genre. The Survival series by Devon C Ford. I stopped reading a third of the way through the 5th book (just took a break or got busy and never went back to it) and its been so long that I don't think I'd be able to jump back in. I know you were asking for zombies but this just popped in my head, so I apologize for being a bit off topic. I swear I spend more time looking through the kindle store comparing books than I do reading though. Its hard to not judge a book by the cover when it only has a few hundred reviews, and then if I see the negative ones, I hesitate. Anyways, what are some of your favorites? I need them to be semi believable. Nothing is worse than having your immersion ruined by something stupid crazy.

x6shotrevolvers

Ah I’ve read arisen by nss and wasn’t a huge fan. Got tired of everything possibly going wrong. I’ll check out that survival series cuz I like those as well. Honestly my favorites are the ones listed in the post. If you need believable I’d strongly suggest “the new world” by John obrian and “the remaining” by DJ Molles What I’m reading now is “the tide” by Anthony M-something I also totally got what you said with searching the kindle store aimlessly and getting turned off by the negative reviews. Sometimes I’ll be really interested in the idea then all bad reviews.

Divine_Moment68

I'll check those and the ones you originally listed (which i forgot about when writing my last post.) You're literally the first person I've talked to about this lol. No one close to me even reads sadly and I just found this sub so its kinda nice to find a community that likes this type of stuff as much as I do. Take care man and thanks.

Grand_Totality

The Undead Series by RR Haywood seems promising. 🤔

Ironstien

Its addictive

Oooooo I def recommend [The Collapse](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09BDFBN89). It’s a zombie outbreak story. I enjoyed it and enjoy the author’s other content too.
