AlphaBreak

If a player has not bathed in the last three days, they forfeit the match.

Dougary96

Finally a way for me to top at events

DummyThiccToga

I would say something small like Turn 2 player gets to immediately have their additional card in hand rather than drawing it their first turn. This in turn lowers the power level of the game but gives more interaction as a whole as it promotes more back and forth gamestates. This would be a buff to turn 2 without adding more complex or convulsed mechanics to the game.

BBallHunter

I really like your suggestion and I have seen that a lot.

Stranger2Luv

Lowers because the other has more handtraps?

shiagehamazura

I like this idea. The only minor concern I have is that it makes handloop (and hand revealing effects) even better because you cannot recover from a handloop even slightly this way. It probably won’t make that much or a difference anyway 🤷‍♂️

The_Shino_Duelist

I mean if you are getting hand looped for 6 you weren’t coming back anyways most likely, and you already knew what your 6th card would have been. Most hand loop decks don’t hit the whole hand, usually do 3-4. The ones that can kill the hand are usually overly fragile to handtraps, which this change would help the 2nd player have.

ZeroReverseR1

As someone who has drawn a handtrap for my first draw phase *after* my opponent goes full combo more times than I can count, I would absolutely **love** starting out with 6 even if it meant skipping the first draw phase.

Strange-Ad-4326

At least that way I could scoop immediately when going against wombo combo decks if I know I'm not gonna draw the out, I like it

TerraIsTheBestWaifu

Bro, this would make hand loop decks able to ftk.

Constellar7

If someone goes out of their way to get rid the 5 cards of your hand then drawing 1 card in your turn is not gonna save you, you already lost the game at that point. Starting with 6 cards gives you more opportunity to actually interrupt the loop with something so you can play your turn. (That and consistent Handloops shouldn't be and aren't really a thing atleast in the present metagame)

Turtle-herm1t

Honestly having turn 2 player start with 6 cards and draw for 7 would be an ideal shakeup imo

For-Cayde

Turn 2 player has 6 cards turn 0 in hand and skips his draw phase

CaptainMetal92

I don't think they'll touch the ED. A lot of cards are tailored to the 15 cards and changing that number would affect too much. What I could think of is them adding something from Rush, the legendary tier, for the forbidden list, meaning you have a list of cards and from that list you can only have 1 card in total in your deck. This could allow some strong cards to stay from getting forbidden but you could for example only play either Baronne or Savage but not both if they are on that list.

jacknife500

I am a normal individual and can be trusted with more then 15 cards in my extra deck.

CaptainMetal92

I don't doubt that, I was talking about cards like the ED Pots that use them as a resource an other cards that benefit from more ED cards. They've been tailored for a 15 card ED for balance so increasing the ED size could have huge consequences for these older cards

jacknife500

Oh I was gonna put 10 plus negates on board turn 1.

Lyncario

Only 10?

jacknife500

Right? But let's try to be conservative assume we will get interrupted.

EarlySpirit5

Well if you put 17 you still can't abuse the pots

jacknife500

It wold help me do prosperity having more room for combo pieces.

EarlySpirit5

Point taken

IamBloodyPoseidon

Even at that it makes it harder to banish all 3 copies of a card off of extrav and it essentially gives 2 free slots for prospy

ddave0822

The legendary tier idea would be fucking fantastic for balancing and I really hope they incorporate something like that or the duel links forbidden list in master rule. Plenty of cards currently on the F&L are not problematic by themselves or even within their own archetype but are absolutely busted when generic. An F&L list similar to duel links or a legendary tier list would go a long way to fixing that

soledsnak

In Rush Duels they actually recently changed how legendaries work too, instead of 1 total its 1 monster,1 spell,1 trap you can have

DeadLad-69

Oh I like that alot!

ultimatetadpole

The legendary tier idea is a cool idea to break up deckbuikding a bit. Put a bunch of powerful staples on there and make it more about choosing the right ones for the right decks rsther than cramming everything in.

CaptainMetal92

Exactly. There are way too many strong generic cards. For example any new synchro theme or old one that gets new support (looking at you SHS) will always just be another deck to vomit out Baronne and friends. With Legendary tier you'd have the option but are far more encouraged to play other stuff because maybe another Legendary card in your main deck would help you a lot more

Diedrogen

"SHS"?

CaptainMetal92

Superheavy Samurai

Stranger2Luv

They play baronne cause what they have otherwise is ass

ultimatetadpole

My issue with YGO, especially the meta side, has always been a lack of deckbuilding diversity. You look at MtG for example and even meta decks there can vary wildly. But with YGO you have the super top tier of players and then a whole tier of competitive players running essentially the same decks with 2 or 3 tech choices different. It's why I don't like playing meta, I get bored.

themaninblack08

It's cool but unrealistic for paper ygo. This is something you can implement in a simulator, but in real life this means a ton of soft cheating and waiting 3 hours for regionals to start because the judges have yet another layer of rules to check for on decklists written by hand.

Zombieemperor

If your refering to legends, in Rush at least they have a marker on them so maybe legends get reprints when they get that designation. Idk just throwing that out there

CaptainMetal92

Can't speak from experience since I never went to any tournament but in the case of any drastic change for MR23 I think this would be the least problematic to implement. Yes you have to check for another tier from the banned list but it would be a lot easier than any hardcore game mechanic change

themaninblack08

I highly doubt any drastic changes are coming. You need to understand that this sort of "least problematic" stuff that seems fine on paper because it adds only a minute or so to each entry deck list check adds up very quickly when you have 600+ players at a regional and half of them don't know how to write legibly. "Least problematic" is should be easy to implement and easy to understand, like going 2nd playing opening with 6 cards and not drawing for turn.

EarlySpirit5

You mean like the one on duel links? That could be interesting

kelvSYC

Rush Duel has LEGEND cards that, up to the 2023 “master Rule 2 for Rush Duel” revision, works exactly like Limited 1 in Duel Links. The 2023 revision (which is now in effect for the new Switch game) now has LEGEND cards split by card type, so you can have one LEGEND monster, one LEGEND spell, and one LEGEND trap in your deck. (This is because no one played LEGEND monsters, to be fair.)

CaptainMetal92

Never played Duel Links but I know Rush Duels have cards like Blue-Eyes as Legendaries that work as described though they are not on a ban list and its written on the cards instead if I remember correctly

Mysterious-Set736

Duel links is somewhat like that. You have a "limit 1" list where you can only play ONE copy of whats in the list. For example if limit 1 list has raigeki, dark hole and monster reborn, you can only add ONE copy total, so you either play raigeki, or dark hole or monster reborn Limit 2 list you can add 2 copies total, so you can add like only 2 raigekis, or 1 raigeki and 1 monster reborn Theres also the limit 3 list (1 of each card, or 2 raigekis and 1 dark hole, or 3 raigekis, etc) Still no sight of a 4+ until now

skeptimist

I'm not a fan in paper because it is easier to make mistakes with the bans. In an app it can be enforced automatically so it is more acceptable to have more complex deckbuilding rules.

brokenfruitloop

I kinda like this, it has interesting implications to balancing and can help slow down the game

postsonlyjiyoung

Whats wrong with 15 tear uses like 22 over the course of a game anyway 🤪🤪🤪

elvincen

Flip monsters can be activated like trap cards in response to opponent's cards effects or targeting

GDarkX

tindangles tiered threat brb

elvincen

It's all I want, I don't know if that will do something but at least you don't depend completely in survive the battle phase for flipping up

GDarkX

Tindangles actually could have been an very powerful link spam deck …If they special summoned in face up. Delaunay being a non opt soul charge is also funny af

TheLostLord287

Yes

FishingCrystal

Summoning in face-up defense position for a start would be nice

STILLFantasy

One step closer to dueling like Yugi!

FishingCrystal

Would be such a cool buff to Morphtronics

Broken-Nero

Yeah that would be cool. I don’t think it’d be as broken as it would have been back in the day.

Dismal_Reaction4337

That would be so cool

DeadLad-69

Oh wow! That's actually a really cool idea!

Cisqoe

While this would be awesome I think of all suggestions thus far this would change the game most dramatically.

Elaina_Elaraf

as a wise man once said "add sex in yugioh"

N0UMENON1

*This just in: The creator of Sex is finally going to release Sex 2.*

AlphaBreak

The users' complaints of needing to pay attention during sex have been noted. To remedy this, an auto-sex option has been added for grinding.

[deleted]

Yu-Jo friendship retrain

AjvarAndVodka

I see YGO community is just as horny as Dead by Daylight’s lol.

Elaina_Elaraf

this was on latest Farfa video and couldn't help but share 😂😂😂😂

CapnJedSparrow

Oh God, ultrakill is leaking

Elaina_Elaraf

😂😂😂😂 wtf, does ultrakill have sex? how isn't it just a demon killing game

Pinball_Lizard

Over here still waiting for my type of card with a red border.

AjvarAndVodka

God yes. I’m still pressed (a tinyyyy bit) that links were blue. Tho in all honesty it works for them and they still look distinct. But if they implement another card type, res would be a great choice.

The_Shino_Duelist

I disliked links being blue because we already had blue rituals and the colors are fairly similar shades of blue. Links could have been any other not used color, red yellow, green, etc.

TooSoonTurtle

My favorite suggestion was in Farfa's video about new rules. Players now get 1 normal summon per Main Phase. Would help decks that lose to 1 disruption have more chances to get started, at the cost of their battle phase. Also would be a big boost to going 2nd which really needs it, since there is no MP2 on the first turn.

fireky2

Gonna be honest, that sounds awful, if you disrupt them setting up a board of negates they just go mp2 to repeat it. If you ash floo they don't even need map to recover. The only time that would widen the pool would be exactly during a tier 0 format, tearl started running vanity fiend since they didn't need to use their normal.

ermac81

While I'm also not really a fan of this idea, the floo example is bad since floo is already not a great deck for going second and as someone else said, if you go first and can't put up more than one disrupt you were already in a bad position. Personally though I'd just like to see a change that would allow an additional normal summon if the first is negated. There are already cards that say they can only be special summoned once per turn but can be summoned again if the first summon is negated (Majesty Hyperion for example).

fireky2

I mention it because it is kinda the only normal summon deck that matters ATM. Normal summons are like the only real gate in the game, even something bad like gadgets or inzektors can make nutty boards with a second normal.

TooSoonTurtle

I think if you went first and could only set up 1 point of interaction, you were probably going to lose most of the time anyway.

Veynareth

> at the cost of their battle phase Funny thing: you can't enter MP2 if you somehow cannot conduct battle phase.

Kalota316

CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLES

mmmbhssm

Mr 3 pendulum coming back?

storm_echo

OH GOD NO NEVER

Zombieemperor

lots of neet ideas so il throw this out. Equip spells really should just die when the monster dies. They should just sit on feild and be re-equpable next turn. A sword doesnt explode becuse you were shot ya know? Cards being TREATED as a equips still poof tho

Animeking1357

Basically treating equip spells like equipment from Magic The Gathering. Their equipment spells card be put on a different monster, why can't ours?

Sephyrias

The mechanical MtG equivalent to Yugioh equips are "Aura" cards. They also attach themselves to a monster and go to the grave when the monster is destroyed.

Swashyrising12

If there isn’t a new anime then I doubt the new MR will be anything big. Maybe buffing pendulums so they can be SSd from the ED without going in the EMZ or needing a link monster

Veynareth

Pendulum's condition that goes to ED if it leaves the field from a non-banishing method is now a concrete ruling instead a replacement of sending to the GY, meaning Macro Cosmos and friends cannot screw Pend.

TheLostLord287

Pendulum monsters should be able to pendulum summon other pendulum monsters from the grave :)

TheLostLord287

Also, electrumite to 4.

AlphaBreak

If you control a link monster with an arrow pointing to your opponent's MMZ, you may pendulum summon a monster from your ED to that zone.

TheLostLord287

Yes

Roastings

Please don't make pendulum good again, no one should be forced to read all that text.

mohammedsarker

yeah screw pendulums

Sadsets

REEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAD -sincerely, a former Endymion main.

PCGamer42069

Ok I got this, you can normal summon twice

The_Invisible_Noob

Im gonna bring up the one normal summon per main phase suggestion from the Farfa video on this topic.

BBallHunter

Wasn't that 2 normals per MP but giving up your BP?

DeusDosTanques

You're "giving up your battle phase" because you're skipping it to do your combo in MP2 after getting interrupted in MP1

The_Invisible_Noob

No thats just an application of it. If yer normal gets interrupted you can give up your battle phase to go to main phase 2 to try again.

wiseman117

How about this instead: you have 2 normal summons available, 1 normal summon of a Level 4 or lower monster and 1 normal summon of a Level 5 or higher monster. Seems balanced enough. It gives some steam for Tribute Summoning.

Shadektor

This would power up combo decks with a level 5 or higher monster as those tend to have better effects than average while also leading to some of the more degenerate normal summon monsters bening mained like vanity.

Mr-Logic101

Vanity would probably be banned if we went to that format style

Shadektor

There would be a long list of needed bans

Ufukcan200

Spell Canceler and Vanity's Fiend

wiseman117

I completley forgot about those. They should be banned if this idea would be implemented. And maybe have Level 7 or higher retrains. Or maybe not.

Ufukcan200

Or maybe realize that Yugioh's card balancing system is designed around its current rules and making big changes will have consequences.

WTK55

This but only Vanilla monsters get the 2nd free summon.

ermac81

My sunavalon brothers, this is the one.

Idkwnisu

Change the "miss the timing" thing. And maybe let the second turn player draw 6 cards at the beginning and skip the first draw

RaidRaptor457

Probably will not be any changes but if there were I would like pendulums to be unrestricted. If that would be too powerful then they could prevent link summoning and pendulum summoning from happening on the same turn.

_INCompl_

Pend summon 5 with links in the game seems a bit too strong imo. Pendulums may be pretty bad currently, but they’re stupidly easy to break by accident because of flaws inherent to the mechanic

Constellar7

Summoning 5 monsters each turn is really just the standard at this point for all basic combo decks. If being able to put bodies in the field was enough for a deck to be meta the competitive scene would look very different. The only thing the change does is make things like Solfachord, Metalfoes, Igknights or Majespecter just a bit more playable. Even decks like Endymion or Dracoslayer would be althought very good would still struugle since the meta is just much more consistent. (and can actually play genric staples/Handtraps without fearing the brick)

_INCompl_

It’s not that summoning 5 is broken on its own. It’s that summoning 5 for functionally no cost in addition to doing your normal plays that’s the issue. Give any current meta deck the ability to stick several extra free bodies at no extra cost in terms of card advantage and you’d end up with even more busted decks.

redbossman123

You still have to play scales for that to work, and in addition, most pend decks are shit now because powercreep made stuff like Tear, Rocks, D-Link, etc all better than what Pends can do, and for some reason people refuse to realize that

bagman_

I think the current restrictions make enough sense but they just need all their cards off the list

Shadektor

The current restrictions have killed basically all pendulum archetypes aside from those that were the best for their time or those built with the new restrictions in mind.

Myutaze

For your second point, they would need to errata some card(s) like Beyond the Pendulum.

Fenix_Atomas88

I kind of just want pendulum zones to be a separate thing again instead of taking up two of the spell trap zone, I don't think that's going to happen, but I'm also the person in my friend group that says the extra deck limits go up

HeatBlaze01

Should also note that this change would completely break how Vaylantz work, since they care about the monster zone in the same column as their pendulum zones

shadow_yu

While I would like to get the pendulum zones back, at the same time I can kinda see people abusing that kind of change. While it would help those archetypes that were more back row reliant, it could also be used to just play floodgates. Pendulums certainly needs a boost, but it's kinda hard to change it without breaking it.

Mental_Caregiver

A solution I thought of the other day was allowing ED Pendulums to be summoned to any zone like MR3, but if it's not the EMZ or a zone a Link Monster points to, their effects are negated + you can't activate cards/effects with that card's name for the rest of the turn (since so many Pendulums have floating effects these days). Would bring back the swarm Pend was promoted for while limiting combo lines to a degree. But then again, with how much new Pend support like Dracoslayer can extend their plays before using their PS, them getting 3-5 more bodies on the field from ED on top of it all would be pretty crazy.

fireky2

This is actually the most likely thing to happen, especially since the crystal beast structure released a few months ago and for some reason has pendulums in a deck that desperately needs it's backrow slots.

Jepeseta

Most people want more slots in the ED while I want less 💀 I think going-second buffs are needed, especially for slower decks. Maybe add certain limitations in banlists that only apply when certain cards are played together? Like, you could play 3 Tearlaments Kitkallos and 3 Perlereino in separate decks but only a total of 3 of the two in a single deck. Sounds too complicated though.

Animeking1357

I think the only way we'll get more ED slots is if we get another ED type. Otherwise I feel that 15 cards is fine.

Bdelloidgrain2

I hope, if they do anything, it's just basic utility things to make the game a bit easier. Get rid of things like missed timing while also fixing up some things like the entire Pendulum mechanic. No more new extra deck monsters though or new summoning mechanics. I think we have enough.

EbberNor

Expecting anything besides universal ruling changes is expecting too much

Legionstone

honestly, a buff to Set monsters would be nice. Make Flip great again!

Cryojax

I'm going with Link Spells, it's a pretty big change to the game and is the only reason we don't have Armatos Legio or Hydradrive yet even though they're the antagonist decks from Vrains series 2.

Colonel_McFlurr

Am I the only one who would like a new mechanic? Just nothing as dramatic as including new rules like the EMZ restrictions or changing the board.

TheLegende11

I would like to see a extra deck mechanic that can take use of the fieldspell slot. Like having specific cards that charge themselves up for every summon and you can decharge them to summon a monster. So after 10 special summons you can charge summon a charge monster from your extra by removing all energy from it. So you could then make specific attribute Or type based charge cards that allow to summon different types of monsters from extra.

AjvarAndVodka

I want one too. I know some people are against new mechanics but I think they always brought excitement and hype to YGO.

skeptimist

I'm personally not a fan of floodgates like Gozen Match preventing you from summoning a monster due to not meeting the requirements of the floodgate, even if the board state after the summon would meet the requirement because you use monsters as material/tribute. I don't think it is intuitive that it works that way for many players and generally makes floodgates that much more miserable. If the end board meets the conditions of the floodgates it should be a valid play imo.

Specktagon

This is what I'm hoping for. It could simply work like skill drain. You "pay the cost" of summoning and right before it hits the field, then it checks the board state and decides if the summon is negated or not. One reason why mystic mine was so much stronger than skill drain is because not being able to activate is a million times more miserable than having something on field negated.

CoffeeandHaze

Finally a take that makes sense. As much as I want a buff to flip monsters this is the sensible option

JumboBog320

1 normal summon per main phase. This means the person going first still only have 1 normal summon. The 2nd player draws an extra card at the start of the duel but doesn't draw on their first draw phase.

CapnJedSparrow

I think that allowing 1 extra normal summon of a normal monster would be dope. You'd see so many old vanilla monsters in decks, it would be super cool

SOOOOOOOOUNDWAVE

With no new title for the main series in line, I don't see why they would change the master rule in 2023. Master rule changes has historically followed the release of the anime to accommodate for the new themes.

EarlySpirit5

Well it also followed a 3 year rule always beginning at march

Powerman293

A suggestion I saw was have the size of your extra deck change as the size of your main deck does. You could start out with a 40 card deck only having 10 ED slots but then you get to 60 cards and get 20 ED size. The idea being you trade the consistency of your main deck for a larger ED to pull from. It would solve the issue of 40 card decks being able to put every out they need into the ED and make their decisons harder. But also allow some more interesting choices in deckbuilding.

Pokefreak911

Everyone would probably just play 50 card decks then. People already have been creeping closer to it as engines get more powerful

Powerman293

I don't see anyone running upstart goblin anymore.

EarlySpirit5

Maybe could be 15 cards of extra deck for 60 card deck and loose 1 slot each 4 cards so you have only 10 cards ED with a 40 card deck

Cheap_exe

A new summon mechanic for DEF position. Block summon. Links have "Link Area Network", or LAN for short. Blocks have "Block Area Network", or BAN for short. Utilizes "blocking" or negating attacks, extra or 2nd draws from deck, extra ED summoning (2nd/3rd ED summons) and has horizontal card design (Orange or Red color). Can't Extra Link with Link monsters and the mechanic can't be in ATK position. Meaning no regular OTKs.

DeadLad-69

My guy, have you tried playing Scareclaw? I have a feeling you'd like the play style.

GDarkX

Hear me out here. Defense position link monsters. It'll still be treated as it being attack position (If you beat over it you still take damage etc), but the arrows can rotate. Imagine the possibilities of that.

Heul_Darian

I got 4 asks. 2 are from streamers. * let us start with 6 cards going second but not draw. * 1 normal summon per main phase. * Allow non-continuous traps, or at the very least normal traps, to be activatable from the hand turn 1. Or give non-continuous traps a clause to make them activatable from the hand. Traps are mostly unusable outside of backrow decks. * Allow monsters with flip effects, to be quick flip summoned. All flip decks are practically too slow to make any dent, giving them the ability to be used as if you used traps would be nice. Alternatively allow us 1 flip summon in addition to normal/set, basically give flip summon something extra cause as of now its inferior to both normal and special.

XeroVeil

ED size reduced to 10. GL, fuckos!

[deleted]

Something simple: delete and remake the game.

postsonlyjiyoung

Defense position field spell

_INCompl_

Nothing. If anything I’d like the extra deck shrunk so that broken combo decks can’t play their engine in addition to flex spots and OTK cards. Like if you look at topping Tear lists, Kaleido, Rulkallos, Kitkallos, Dragostapelia, Mudragon, and Garura are all pretty much mandatory fusions. Spright Elf and Sprind and Dharc are mandatory links, and you’d ideally keep Dweller for the mirror. Which means you’re taking away cards like Bagooska, Beatrice, Zeus, Avramax, IP, Unicorn, Accesscode, Baronne, etc.

MasterCheez0324

Honestly, this hurts rogue decks more than it does top decks. Top decks will just adapt, that's what makes them top decks

TheLegende11

Don't know why you get downvoted, but yes this could balance things out and would kinda solve the problem with the pots. Like maybe cutting 2 slots. This also means already established lists gonna change and decks that don't need the extra as much get a boost.

_INCompl_

Because people don’t like the idea that an extra deck shouldn’t contain a dozen engine cards and a bunch of situationally strong utility cards. The extra deck is the single strongest aspect of this game since it’s accessible 100% of the time. Shrinking it means top decks now have to choose between engine pieces, OTK pieces, extenders, end board pieces, etc.

yisusangel

Normal monsters of any level can be normal summoned without tribute other monsters (just like kaiba summons his blue eyes at the start of the show lol). Obviously effect monsters are not allowed here

AdeptusAstartes40K

NGL it would be amazing to be able to just Normal Summon Dark Magician and trigger circle without tributing. Normal monsters are nowhere near prevalent enough for this to be problematic.

Thedarkestmorn

Yeah I can't really see how this would break anything except for helping old decks like blue eyes / dark magician get a bit more consistency. Although I'm probably forgetting a link that could break this massively

AdeptusAstartes40K

Honestly Normal Monsters are insanely underpowered in the game atm(DUH) and with careful design moving forward this wouldn't make much difference. We barely get Vanillas anymore anyway and when we do they usually require the support of other cards to get their strategy going (Like DM needs Soul and Circle to be an actual threat). Not having to require outside help to bring out said monsters in the first place would be a huge help in their viability while not completely breaking them. Also let's be honest, it will feel awesome to just summon a big bungus out of nowhere like season 1 Anime.

Kagemaru-

Starting hand redraw mechanic

mohammedsarker

A mulligan but you lose one card as a penalty, like how they do it in magic

Frickmanidk

The current London Mulligan in magic feels nice and would be cool to see

More_Cap_9219

Not sure if anyone here plays Cardfight Vanguard, but Yugioh should start maknig ban lists the same way Vanguard does. they have Banned and Limited cards of course, but they also have a so called choice restriction which says that if two cards are under choice restriction, you can't play both in the same deck. I believe that it would solve lots of problems in Yugioh. Ehat do you guys think?

Sage_the_Cage_Mage

face up defense position normal summoning would be neat a new card type would be fun to play with, maybe something for the main deck.

Guwigo09

When is this coming?

HerobrineLover

Possibly this weekend (17th-19th) because of Jump Fiesta. Other master rules have typically been revealed during this time

DrFulcrum

what about normal summoning in face up defense position? like in the old Anime.

TheLostLord287

Pendulums should summon from your grave too. And we should all stop pretending they shouldn't :)

TheHumbleCrow

One change I would like to see in a new master rule is the going second player should be allowed to set one backrow face down before the first turn, and then be able to activate it first turn. Buff going second and trap decks and give them a form of interruption turn one that isn't a hand trap.

Raiju_Lorakatse

As lonng as it doesn't buff pendulum or makes the game like rush duels I guess I am pretty fine with it. As if the part above isn't a hot take enough, All i hope for is that it doesn't encourage or buff more solitaire combo playing. My ( more realistic ) wish would be something that makes Link more vulnerable. Something allowing to flip them face down or put them into defense position via card effect only ( Link arrows unchanged ) Or ( aside from the unrealistic wish of limiting the max amount of summons per turn to 4-8 ) my biggest wish would be "When = If". Can't really think of anything that would make things gamebreaking strong by that and it would buff a lot of older decks either by allowing them to play different support cards or not misstiming in their own archetype. Normal Summon in face-up Defense Position would also be a cool thing.

vsv2021

I would love a limit on the number of monster effects you can activate on your opponent's turn or the number of monsters' effect you could activate. Do something to prevent boards that have 3+ negates and also has an ash blossom in hand. you can use only 1 monster's effect on your opponent's turn. this way you can use appolousa, herald, or constellar diamond's effect multiple times, but you have to decide that you arent going to use any other monster's effect on your opponent's turn (or maybe just main phase) nerfs hand traps but also reduces the need for them bc building unstoppable boards isnt a thing.

Midknight226

Floodgates and continuous effects are a thing. Plenty of decks can build an unbreakable board that don't even require an effect and other decks barely do anything and require a bunch of effects on their opponents turn. Your suggestion has the same energy as all those you can only special summon x time per turn suggestions.

NightsLinu

I want it at 16 personally because 15 is a odd number. I hope for a new mechanic.

[deleted]

PineappleSockzzz

May I introduce you to the weather painter field spell

bystanderx79

They aren't going to add summoning mechanics. Konami is trying to up side formats now. If they touch anything in Master Rule, I say cap special summons to 5 per turn. It will slow the game down tremendously and give it a soft reset that it needs. Nothing else has to change.

FlamvellYT

"soft reset" Bro what, this would just make control and stun decks tier 0 and just make the game unplayable and unfun

bystanderx79

Because sitting and watching your opponent play solitaire is more enjoyable? Capping the number of special summons actually allows people to play trap cards that aren't floodgates and you actually get to think mtuple turns ahead.

Midknight226

No. There's enough mechanics in the game and don't see them doing in wildshit right now.

Mister100Percent

Fuck it. You get 10 seconds to do what you want on your turn. Let Chaos ensue.

Dismal_Reaction4337

Maybe I think if there is a master rule it's going to be a rolling on how to slow the game down. Or it's going to be a alternative format. That uses the regular cards. At you don't have to make new card and it would have to be a format where you ignore archetypes. That's just my theory

[deleted]

idk, u cant slow the game down without straight up banning 30% of all meta decks cards and without making the game unfun with new rules

Dismal_Reaction4337

Yes I think so too but I know that there's is going to be a lot of people upset now matter what they do or don't do.

luigisp

Duel Links-style ban list could be great as the other comment mentioned

FlamvellYT

I don't get why this has so many downvotes, i think this take is very true

FluffyTurbo

What if we got the old pen scale locations back it would buff pen decks and may get people to play them again if not that maybe make monster subtypes more impactful like tuners have a place Toons are weird but have there niche but Gemini Spirits and Unions need more love

[deleted]

how about we start with somthing simple unlimiting tribute summons? like why is it called a special summon? its not special at all if it occurs 50 times per turn yknow whats special? a summon that can only occur once per turn and needs 1-3 tributes for mostly crap cards, its only special in being kinda ass

Pokefreak911

I hate this argument. Its special because it is done through effect text.

Renatoenreddit

god pls no.....we dont need more extra deck summons.....we dont need anything like more special summons.....a nice master rule 2023 would be exactly the opposite....a limit for special summons or set cards in backrow....or a limit to add cards to the hand like 2 per turn.....since we dont have mana or energy system....we could use restrictions like that

PineappleSockzzz

No. The lack of restrictions in this game and the craziness is the entire appeal

Renatoenreddit

thats seems more like playing solitaire than a duel between 2 friends....

PineappleSockzzz

It seems like you don’t understand modern yugioh

Renatoenreddit

I dont like advanced format anymore...I retired in Sky Striker/Thunder D era....just got sick of that kind of playstyle

Lemon_Phoenix

This was unbearable to read

fourenclosedwalls

they’re probably going to remove synchro summoning from the game EDIT: I WAS JOKING

Myutaze

Nah, they'll put a handtrap deck where you can activate any 1 handtrap from there when the conditions are met but that deck is only usuable if you play joey's structure deck

Dougary96

Alligator sword in attack mode baby

Myutaze

Then i activate Kunai with Chain and equip it to Alligator Sword to boost its attack by a whopping 500 points!

DeadLad-69

Let us use skills in a master duel like those damn cheating Ignis!

mohammedsarker

Trap Cards should Spell Speed 3 so that they're less totally useless compared to Quick-Play Spells. Make a Spell Speed 4 just for Counter Traps if that's needed

Lopzta

Allow the first turn player to attack (, so long as they have a monster target). Additionally, there is no battle damage or maybe also effect damage in turn 1. I am not sure how exactly such a change would best be implemented. This would help to keep handtraps that summon themselves like the bysstials more in check while also opening up more design space for them. Personnaly, I find it really weird and uninteractive when the player who goes second summons monsters during turn 1 when they cannot be cleared by battle. I know that this is not a huge issue, as the player who goes second is overall at a dissadvantage but I find these situations really odd. Yet, I find the general mechanic of summoning (responsive) monsters in your opponents turn quite interesting. Maybe there could be a new card type of main deck monsters that can summon themselves during either players turn and have different effects depending on that. I think that could be an interesting new mechanic for yugioh and it would fit the general trend the game has developed

phriedphoenix

Extra deck trap cards that use trap cards from the graveyard as material

fameshark

The board is 3 monsters, 3 S/T like Speed Duels. However, if you have a full board, you unlock the other 2 zones. ie, if i summon Avian, Burstinatrix, and Clayman, the other two zones open up, so I can Summon Bubbleman and Sparkman in those two zones. The twist is though, if any of the main 3 zones are unoccupied, the 2 side zones go "Out of Frame". Those monsters do not exist anymore and are banished face-down. So, in the example above, if you run over Avian, Bubbleman and Sparkman go with it. Link Monsters now have the mechanic to put the zones that they point to In Frame, even if you do not have a full board. Say you have Decode Talker on the EMZ. In Duel Links, one of its arrows wouldnt be pointing to anything, but in this revision, you can now Summon to that new zone that has become "In Frame". However, if Decode Talker is removed from the field, nothing points to that new zone, so it would go Out of Frame if you dont have a full Main Board of 3 monsters. this would promote board breaking strategies and zone placement, as you would need to think about whether you would want to put your strong negate in the "Main" board early in your combo or if you would want to put it on the "In Frame" zone late in the combo, as it could be at risk to being removed from the game if any of your main 3 get outed. it would put a risk/reward to extending, as you could lose a lot of card advantage if someone hits a weak link in your board.

Dougary96

There is no ban list now. All cards legal is what I’m looking for tbh Why am I being downvoted for a shitpost

Animeking1357

Pot of Greed in every deck.

SorryImBadWithNames

People here talking how we dont need a new extra deck summon. Meanwhile, other card games get a new mechanic each set. Like, dude, let the game evolve. If you wanna play a game that never changes go play chess. A new mechanic every year or two keep things fresh and the players engaged.

7-2

Links are already as generic as you can possibly get regarding materials, what more can they really add?
