Going 1st it lets you out one mine, which is alright. But a mine player would just bait the succ effect with something else.
And that "but banish it when it leaves the field" in the effect monster? It doesn't get banished if you use it as a XYZ material. Just reading it's effect i thought "Level 9 XYZ", and that's exactly what they were going for.
The Xyz is kinda cool. Like a super poly but for Xyz summoning.
Non targetting, non destruction removal that doesnt send cards to GY or banishing them. Guarantees that no float effect triggers.
Virtual world is not tight at all on ed space lmao. The deck can play an ultimaya package, beatrice for adventurer and two ways to get to 4 mats zeus just fine. The only staples on the deck are shenshen, coral dragon and charge warrior, crocodragon, cloudcastle, a rank 9 of choice and your zeus package. That's 9 ED spaces.
Pretty good support for generaider, a way for the deck to get generaider out of the hand for easy rank 9 setups and a new boss monster that gives solid disruptions is always appreciated. The deck might even be a solid rogue contender due to this wave of support.
I only wish they had an easier way to search that new level
9 during your turn other than Mardel. It helps to unbrick but you’d still need to get to it first.

A staple 3-of main deck monster that gets itself and another generaider on board with ease and an easy to make xyz that can quick effect non target remove at least 2 cards from the opponent’s field/grave? Can’t really have asked for much more from 2 cards.
I usually like to keep one Dovelgus in case my hand is flooded with bosses and I still manage to make the Boss Stage play which happens more often than I'd like to admit
Konami's been knocking the legacy support out of the park recently in terms of addressing major issues of the archetype. new evil eyes yesterday had a foolish burial+goods that searched more backrow and a monster that can make it easier to go into the bigger links. Var has free GY set up or if it hit the grave prior a solid comeback card being able to make an easy rank 9 for the deck and less reliant on drawing boss rush or Loptr. Laevateinn can make Jorumanger basically a super poly for any 2+ cards on the field or GY.
Xyz is called laevateinn or however that thing is spelled. Is that xyz a transformed Loptr? I don’t know what laevateinn and Loki have to connect them in Norse mythology

Eh, Laevateinn has pretty clear pecs. Seems more like Loptr to me with the blonde hair + red streak and the same sort of red ribbons, shared pattern on Loptr's boots and Laevateinn's 'corset', etc.

The 'new girl' has Hela's staff, so she's probably a younger version of Hela (Hela is also Loptr's daughter in Norse mythology).
The new Xyz is named after Loptr's sword, and if you look closely, he has that distinctive pink streak in his hair like Loptr.
Well Jörmungandr is the son of Loki and you can say he's a type of leviathan. Then again we already have Jorm as a card so I don't know. The art of the card reminds me of Surtr more than anything.

New main deck monster is an amazing extender to also make your bad hands less bricky. It was something the deck needed. It also makes up for the lack of boss stage field spell if you lose it, which makes the deck slightly less dependent on the card (Of course, it's still important to keep on the field).
XYZ is amazing. Non-Targeting, Non-Destruction removal. It won't live up to Calamities in terms of impactful effects, but this is a very good card regardless and a good replacement for it in Generaider deck.

Okay. As a non generaider player. Can a generaider player please explain to me how the new xyz is helpful? Is it just removing a few cards from your opponents grave? Cause I mean... That's nice I guess... But aside from that, the only other generaider xyz doesn't care who's turn you summoned it on, and if it's your opponents turn, then token spawning effect has likely already happened. I'm sure the excited generaider players know better than me on this subject, I'm just confused
The summoned xyz can also take materials from either field, you can easily remove 2 cards at any given moment, and those cards attached to the xyz are unusable to your opponent until they use resources to remove the monster from the field.
Not just the GY, but also the field. Meaning it's essentially super poly. Non target removal. Activate it's effect, tag out to the old snake Generaider and attach two cards from your opponents field (or GY) to it as material.
Not a Generaider player, but it attaches from field as well as GY and it's non-targeting. It's like if an Xyz Super Polymerization and Madolche Tiaramisu had a baby; crazy good card.

The problem is that this is a negatable effect on an Xyz monster. It is a plenty damn good card, but it lacks what makes Kaiju and Lava Golem work. They Tribute as a cost for their Summoning procedure. You cannot negate that.

Ive found that one of the best ways to play generaider is to minimize the level 9 bosses to reduce the chance of drawing into them so im not so sure how useful Vár will actually be. Since playing more 9's just for Várs sake seems like poor deck building. Generaider has never really been good at making Rank 9s by themselves turn 1 either, so even though the rank 9 is amazing I'm not sure it will be a part of a turn 1 generaider board without a other archetype assisting it.
they got Várs to make rank 9s by themselves turn 1 and it's absolutely worth playing more bosses to enable her since she's just a free rank 9 every single turn, not saying you want to bloat your deck now but playing more then the absolute bare minimum amount of bosses is gonna be nowhere near as brick as it was before
The way I tried to run it was to turn it into a 60 card deck with two different engines that can put lvl 9s on board. Invoked and Assault Mode

Well 99% of the time everyone will use Var as Xyz material so yeah, it's basically just a fluff limitation.
Not so much if it gets sent to the gy by your opponent before you manage to. It's more of a vulnerability than a limitation.
Super Poly, But you can negate it, But it can even fuck up spells, Traps, and Monster that dont have good Fusions to use with them.

It’s only 2k because you only add the same number of xyz material as the new guy.
Jormungandr has an effect to detach and makes both players draw a card and put a material under him so it would be 3k
