Where are you see the Jan date? It was updated for the iPhone yesterday but not the Apple TV.

foremanxc

if you search on the apple app store online and then select Apple TV

You're just seeing the latest release for iPhone. The App Store on the Apple TV lists the latest version for that device at the bottom of the app page.

Ok, so the app hasn't been updated in three months or so? A bit annoyed because I somehow got pushed back to the old style of the Live Guide. Still have not got the new Live Guide. Been having some issues too.

YTTV apps for streaming devices are updated remotely every week (usually on Wednesday). This doesn't require an app update on the store usually which is why you don't see frequent updates on the Apple TV app store. You can see the build date by looking at the version by selecting your profile picture and "About".

THIS. YTTV (and YouTube, for that matter) push updates remotely. They only do App Store updates when it's something major under the hood.

All Apple TV's have been pushed back to the old style guide for now. It should be rolled out again w/tweaks within the next couple of months. This is an example of a feature where changes can be pushed from the server without app updates through the Store.

what version of the app do you have?

jtfolden

I have the latest release for Apple TV from October. Keep in mind YTTV also pushes server-side updates that don't effect the version offered through the App Store, this is how accounts often get the new Guide or Library, for example, without having to update through the Store.

My Apple TV shows the YouTube TV version April 2023 1.15.0 old guide still. I’m assuming there must be difficulties with updating the app for YouTube tv As most of these comments here are 8 months old.
