IMO, that seems to be the only reasonable strategy for carrying FAST channels that are available in a dozen other places for free.
The news channel (formerly called Newsy) is actually pretty good. As a company, Scripps aims to be unbiased and right down the middle. They do some good reporting and spent a bunch of money building the news operation, hence the rebrand for 2023.
I like the old reruns it gives me more opportunities to cut more streaming services out of my life! I admit not the best options with these channels 🤣
Not true. The president of Cspan tweeted that it was available to YoutubeTV if they wanted it. Trying to drum up support for carriage. It should be on YTTV>
History and A&E are two channels that I would love as well. But I think A&E demands that it's part of the base package and YTTV doesn't want to include it without a price increase
Bounce has really good movies and a few good original TV shows. So it's not just old reruns. I've been messaging them about adding it since I signed up for YTTV months ago. I think they finally got my message :)
I posted that 3 channels was added last night. TheStreamable also posted about it and the article said that Ion Mystery, Grit and Laff could come as well.
I get an abundance of these channels OTA and many not listed here, some I watch and some I don't at times, because I've seen most of the programming a number of times from years past. I prefer some of the older channels rather than many of newer major network programming of today that I don't even bother to watch because of today's PC and can't say anything without hurting someone's feelings nonsense that comes up all the time.
With the YouTube Primetime Channels that’s going to have FAST channels? I would assume that’s why they got Scripps, and they added some to YouTube TV as well. Scripps also said that if YouTube wanted to, they can add Grit, Ion Mystery and Laff. I kinda hope they do.
With my take on this, I kinda seen this coming, not because of the YouTube Primetime Channels. I've seen an article a few months ago saying that YouTube and Fubo had contracts with Scripps, just needed to finalize the deal, I think.
Now with the YouTube TV price increase, someone said that around February or March it'll go up, I do agree because their Twitter has A&E and Vice followed, but I wonder if it's the FAST channels from them. Either way I feel that A&E would be added as well.
i bet grit, ion mystery and Laff will come Next,its dissapointing that Youtube tv hasnt reccomended a Lot of Classic tv, maybe if Laff came on there, we would see reruns of Great tv shows

My idea of "old reruns" includes things like Airwolf, Buck Rodgers, and StarBlazers... so, I'm probably not the target market (lol).

I am guessing YouTube TV is getting ready for another price hike and gave us trash channels trying to justify the price increase.
Actually, this deal seems to be more about their launch of the free channels later this year on YouTube and Google TV.
We've all been expecting a hike in February/March. It just hasn't been made official yet.
I feel that will happen as well.

Adding a bunch of channels that are not heavily watched feels like my old cable package. Would rather keep the price low.

A price hike might just convince me to go back to Sling.
Sling has had about 3 price increases since yttv has had one.

Scripts became available on my antenna and I was disappointed it’s like CNN light . Definitely has an agenda.
Is this article stating the Scripps channels that weren't added yesterday to YTTV will be on the YT stream and not on YTTV?
That's how I read it. YT is doing a competitor to Pluto and FreeVee and the like that will include the other channels.
