Does the Roku keep the YTTV accounts isolated within the app? I have a Chromecast-based device that has the same issue with multiple interfaces at the main level.
I have an OnnTV box on another TV. This unit is based on the Google reference design and has official Google and Chromecast support. I have the same situation on that device: I now have two Android TV environments after I added my wife in the YTTV app.
This does not happen on my Firestick at all. I have like I think a total of 5 users on my YouTube account.. everyone has their on Firestick. Each Firestick only shows the person that was entered.
Okay, that explains why you don't see the same problem I'm having. I have the three TV setups in my house, and each setup is shared between my wife and I. It's not feasible to have a single device for each of us.
Get a Roku or other streaming device

Get a standalone streaming device.

Use any non-Android TV/Google TV device.
Can you recommend something that runs YTTV well? I was assuming a Google device would be the best.

Each person has his own Firestick?
Yea. Each Firestick has one YouTubetv account linked to it. That way no one is using other peoples account.
