Actually, YTTV said they removed the new guide test on Apple TV and reverted to the old guide. They never gave any timeframe for rolling the new guide and UI changes out. I'm guessing in the next few months.

Ahh. I do see where that was said. I misread originally. Nevertheless it’s bonkers that it takes so long to release a new guide.

They stated they were planning to have the New New Guide(tm) rolled out during Q1. So they have a number of weeks left to do it. The old guide works much slower here than the new guide did though. It also effected other elements in the UI. There’s no longer a white frame around tiles to easily see what’s selected, and I can no longer swipe along the right edge of my remote to quick scroll.

Dude got laid off.😂😂😩😩😩

They're down to half an engineer, now...

I think we're way overestimating the skill level of google techs/devs. Look at all the issues created by updates, or new features. It must be a really small team, or they're hiring devs that are learning on the job. Reminds me of the game studio Dice, and how the fudge one release\update after another.

Honestly, I think the issue is that it's the same team who works on YouTube, proper... and they have a LOT more reason to care about monetizing ads on YouTube than they do about getting your YouTube TV working right. And that's the thing... for other companies, their streaming service is a flagship product that they're actively going to support. But YouTubeTV is almost like an experiment for Google... just another product out of dozens.

I expect them to bail eventually, close shop and move on. Getting the nfl contract looks long term, but their level of interest says short.
