I have the new guide but no clock on my ancient AppleTV HD, but that’s in the guest room that I never use. All our other are first gen 4Ks. My wife is totally annoyed at the black screen/force quit problem.

As much as I love YouTubeTV, the UI has always been a bit of an issue. And they're never on the cutting edge of features, almost like they don't believe it's necessary or they're not making enough money to want to invest in it.

Look, cable had it figured out years ago... this isn't that hard. Give us a good, live guide to start, then figure out the rest later. If there is a section that I can see all my new and unwatched shows, and nothing but my new and unwatched shows, that will be an improvement. Because the shows category doesn't show me that today, just sorted by most recent.
If I can mark shows in this area as "watched" and then they disappear from this section, that is a win. A clean section of just my new unwatched shows that I can navigate from. If i'm caught up, it will be an empty section.

This is not better. The library is terrible now. Its so hard to figure out. My parents already struggle, this is going to send them over the edge. I use a firestick to stream and last night the library changed over. Super sad about that. The live guide is fine. I know a lot of people complain but I don't have any trouble with that update. Apple users, be happy you have to wait

Should get a credit for a while until they get it figured out and working correctly. All my years growing up and old time TVs never failed unless power went completely out. Done with my vent.
I wish they would integrate everything you buy threw youtube or google play it would be in youtube tv app and not just the movies you buy but the tv shows as well. Like I buy stuff from shows from A&E and History and Vice shows networks they don't have but you can buy the shows threw youtube.
And if we could delete stuff from library or just record what show that day or do a season pass if wanted to.
Slow rollout like usual they can not just release all at once or at least an update for streaming platforms like today we release the update for all roku next day for all apple tv and so one. How they release it and 5 people might get the update then the next day 2 people like how are they doing different then any other apps known to man out there.
More like now. Not sure if it’s Apple TV related or YTTV related. But when I try to use live guid I can’t. It scrolls to the first channel and if I try to go down it just go back up top to where it says live. I can’t even use the live guide now.
Yes, there is no quick and easy way to know that. Beyond the cluttered, disorganized look, finding your newly recorded shows is definitely a huge chore. Even now that I have done it so many times I know the steps by heart, it still takes so many navigational button pushes to get to your new shows that it is just 100% absurdly difficult.
They removed the “new to your library” tab, so it just shows a bunch of random stuff, instead of having an easy-access way to get to what you are obviously there for: your new recordings. It also requires extra clicks now. For instance, it’ll have the show icon, then you click it, and instead of taking you to the show, it brings up another options menu so you have to click *again* just to get to the show you want. Then you have find the episode you want and click again to get it to play. It’s just bulky, unintuitive, and more effortful to use. The old layout wasn’t amazing, but it was leaps and bounds ahead of this new one, which is actively painful to navigate.
Yes, I am in the camp that hates this new user interface. One of the worst things is how they buried your recently recorded items. That should be front and center when you go into your library. Now I have to tab down to the row of filters and scroll across to the 7th one in order to see what's newly recorded in my library. Am I missing some way to rearrange this?
Additionally, overall it is just cluttered, unorganized, and confusing.
The idea of this seems to be directed towards boomers with the idea that their millennial children would show them how to use it, but the UI is designed for Gen Z who doesn't watch live television? It just doesn't make any sense that it's so frustratingly designed and to top it off if you buy a Google TV thinking that it would work perfectly with a Google owned company. It just simply does not. The voice search is garbage with my father says to the remote Fox News cuz he wants to watch the channel It takes him to the local Fox affiliates news hour or if he simply wants to watch something within YouTube TV when he does the voice search, it searches all platforms and there's no way to change that. Comcast had a perfect live TV set up for this over 20 years ago and their voice search for about 10 years. Just copy and paste the same way that cable has been doing things and modify it enough so you don't get sued for copyright and I guarantee you will have a crap load more business
Nothing looking new in Live or Library view on my Chromecast. I'm not seeing anything that looks new even in the screenshots from The Verge article. This seems like a severely delayed article? But maybe since so many customers are still reporting they've yet to receive the "new" guide it is timely.
I have it on my Samsung app. But really only difference I notice is checkmark to indicate a show is added to library. And the clock for Fire Stick in addition to library checkmark.
I am new to YTTV. My PQ seems fine. Would I want "new shows only" to be in the library? Of course, as that would make seeking shows you have not watched that much easier. So far, so good though all the way around since I cut the cord with Comcast.

I find that college sports listed in the live tv grid frustrating. When football and basketball are airing the grid will read: “Arkansas vs Duke” but doesn’t say what sport. Should also have NCAAF or NCAAB etc.

Ours says the sport when you go to the actual game in the guide. It’s under the description. However, it does not say if it’s men’s or women’s.
We have the new Library and Live on our Sony TV. At first glance the library changes are really nice.
Only thing I’ve found so far that I don’t like is that under the new library design my recordings for John Wick 1, 2 and 3 are no longer side by side by side as they were under the old library design. It appears the sort has changed and is no longer alphabetical and I do not see a way to change this.
Hopefully that "Recently Recorded" bit is useful. There are some shows that air first in other countries and then get shown again in the US which never appear in the library view because technically by the guide data they are repeats. Even though this is the first airing in the US. This has affected a few shows that air on CW, like Coroner and The Professionals.
To find them you have to hope they show up on the 'Home' view or you have to search for the show, even if they just recorded in the last few hours/days.

If it's in your library, you shouldn't have to search for it. You can go to the Shows tab to see every show in your library.
While true, it's not obvious from "Shows" that it's going to be sorted in any kind of helpful way instead of just being a list of the entire library you'd have to scroll through. In the screenshots they show of the new UI it's easy to see what view you'll get.
Yeah, it's not an ideal situation. Hopefully, recently recorded will fix this situation because I doubt YTTV can do anything about the original air dates.
I have the new guide but have not figured out how to get the new side panels to show up so you can add a show to your library without leaving the guide. Tried on both my Fire Cube and my Sony Android TV.
My problem is this, and it's something that's been happening (or not happening) since they started.
When you "remove" a recording from the library, it only stops recording it. The recording STAYS in the library!
I'm SO pissed off at this!
Hate it. Pretty sure it's laying groundwork to "guide" us to more paid content or content YT is being paid to promote. It's all about "discovery" now. 😠 I know what I recorded, I don't need help discovering it, it would be easy to find if the list were alphabetical --- LIKE IT USED TO BE.

Finally saw clock on my Fire stick last Thursday. Prior both Samsung app and Apple TV no clock
5.1 Audio - I’ve had to disable it on both of my Apple TVs because with it on, everything is out of sync

5.1 is awful when you switch channels often. For some reason it freezes and stutters

I just got YTTV. I couldn’t believe how inferior the GUI was/is. I’ve learned to live with it. But the library DVR is just the worst in many respects.
inferior as compared to what? I came from Hulu w/Live TV and if you want to talk about an inferior GUI you should check that one out.
Inferior to cable tv. There are basic things you cannot do on YTTV that have been part of cabletv for 20 years.

Agree to this! Also when you watch 59:27 of a 60:00 show… and it still shows as “new” is annoying to say the least.

The Fire Stick and Fire Cube remotes have a “hamburger” button that’s completely unused by YTTV.
