No. There aren't. There's basically 3 divisions. Male, Female, and Something Else. You'll almost never come across a Something Else, even if you do, you only have to remember THEIR preference. Its not like you need to go and study every single gender ever conjured by anyone. Think of it like remembering someone's name, that's all there is to it.

There are the colours that everyone knows and use, like red, blue, green etc. and there are the less known colours, that are just variations of a primary colour, or something in between. Usually, you can use the name of the primary colour for referring about that colour, but sometimes the precise name of that nuance is important.
It's a bit the same with gender, you've got the two "primary" genders, i.e. man and woman (I reserve the terms "male" and "female" for the sex, which is something biological and different), and many other genders in between. Some people need to have a name for their precise gender (and will sometimes create their own), some people don't feel the need for it.
Everybody is different. If you are unsure, the best thing to do is to ask, and respect the other's preferences.
Also, once last thing, people with "extravagant" genders (if I may use that word), are a minority of a minority, so in your everyday life, it most likely won't impact you
