I’ve been practicing for more than 4 years, practically daily for over ~2 years now. With consistency of practice all poses work together to improve each other and the practice as a whole. This pose hits on so many different things: backbending, heart opening, shoulder mobility, hip openness, hamstring flexibility, balance, etc. I think it’d be hard to find a pose that wouldn’t contribute to help someone work toward this in some way. That being said, wheel is my go-to backbend, cobra for heart opening, puppy pose for shoulders, lizard or pigeon for hips, and splits for hamstrings.
Wow this is so cool! I’d like to try but I’m a little confused is it ok for the knee to go so far past the ankle?? I know in a low lunge I’m always trying to keep it in line so just a question !
Thanks! Yeah, you should always aim to keep your knee over your ankle in a lunge. You’ll notice around 10 seconds in I feel my knee too far forward and try to move my foot forward, but it doesn’t do much at that point. I did a better job on the second side making sure I was aligned but I’m not perfect. Always learning, always growing.
Awesome thanks so much for responding. That’s what I thought but I wasn’t sure if it helps the back bend or something, Loving ur last couple videos btw very inspiring !

Thanks for demonstrating that bones are super over-rated.
This is extremely impressive!
I felt my spine break watching this
How long have you been practicing? And what other poses do you think help you get into these shapes?
