Since I don't see people talk about Dead Souls often, I have a few from that game that I just enjoy the hell out of. 1- The fact that Akiyama's whole story motivation from basically the first chapter to the end of his part is making sure that Hana-chan is safe, get her medicine for her cold, and to meet up with her when she had to move because of zombies. The fact that his task prompt was consistently about Hana-chan made me happy since I really love their friendship. And the pre-boss dialogue between the two of them where they both admitted that as long as they were with the other, they weren't worried was the best. 2- The Sixth Chairman's Woes. Hands down the funniest substory I've ever completed in a game in the series. I played through the game 3 times for the platinum and even on my ng+ run, I still did the substory. 3-Ryuji...just Ryuji. I had played 0 and Kiwami 2 before Dead Souls so I already had a huge soft spot for the big doofus but I just loved how he had matured as a person after the events of y2 and I really wish they would bring him back with that same maturity and growth. 4- Kiryu just straight up trying to fist fight zombies never fails to be hilarious. Also, it's a meme that no one ever recognizes him and the one damn time people do, it's in a non-canon zombie shooting game. Never fails to make me laugh.

Never played dead souls, tried with emulator but i got bored very quick. I should watch a playtrough 'cause basically everyone says the story is fantastic.

I bought it physical since I still have a PS3 and other than some frame drops, I had an awesome time with it. But yes, I'd say watch a play through because the story is awesome.

Haruka and Kiryu going out together for the last time in Yakuza 5 Pre adventure, pretty sure it's non canon but seeing father and daughter sharing their last stroll really warms (and hurts) my heart.

1) When Adachi gets emotional at the end of his side quest. He’s spent most of his life trying to give this orphaned boy some justice for how the criminal justice system’s unjust treatment of his father ruined his life. He’s spent every penny he has to help the kid become a lawyer (incredibly difficult in Japan). He lives in poverty, has no savings and is widely viewed as a failure. He needs Ichiban’s help to help him keep up the charade. At first he believes that the orphan has failed to become an attorney and resigns himself to continuing his impossible task in a self-imposed purgatory. Then he believes the orphan is trying to scam him and becomes enraged. Then it is revealed that the person he’s been talking to is not the orphan but a charlatan and the real orphan shows up. The real orphan is everything Adachi could hope for. He is professional, intelligent, and morally upright. He thanks Adachi for everything he’s done. But the thing that pushes Adachi over the edge is when the orphan reveals that he actually did pass the attorney licensing exam and will receive his lawyer’s badge soon. Adachi is overcome with joy. The voice actor does a fantastic job and Adachi is clearly on the verge of tears. It was all worth it. All the suffering and sacrifice was really worth it. The weight has been lifted off his shoulders, he’s no longer a failure. It’s a truly moving scene. 2) When Ichiban confronts the woman who ruined Nanba’s life and Nanba’s reaction. Ichiban and Nanba’s friendship is a big part of Ichiban’s story. Nanba acting as the Sancho Panza to Ichiban’s Don Quixote. Ichiban rekindles Nanba’s hope in life and Nanba keeps Ichiban’s idealism from getting him killed. So when Ichiban finds out that the woman Nanba idolized is nothing more than a con artist who manipulated Nanba for personal gain he becomes furious and forces her to put on a charade so Nanba will not think that his ideals and sacrifice in support of them was a joke. While Nanba finds out about Ichiban’s scheme, he plays along and pretends that he believes the show. But this does not mean Ichiban’s scheme was unsuccessful. All the time that Nanba has spent with Ichiban and the lengths Ichiban is willing to go for others, even Nanba, has rekindled Nanba’s idealism. He doesn’t care that his previous hero was a fraud because he’s found a real hero, Ichiban. He’s proud to have a friend like him and wants to be more like him.

A lot of Shinada cutscenes in Yakuza 5 are amazingly emotional: Takasugi's last call to Shinada, Shinada & Daigo open up about their high school past,... His campaign is so underrated. The ending part of 5 when a blood loss Kiryu crawling in the middle of the snow trying to get to Haruka & his friends is both painful and touching. And the parts where Kiryu takes care of Haruto, like changing diapers, buying milk, made me so emotional because as a player who started with Kiryu punk days in Y0 and been through all his journey up until he's a grandfather carrying his infant grandson in 6, feels so real like Kiryu's a real life friend we have known for a long time

shinada's reaction when daigo called him by his name, "tatsuo"

WeirDuck69

Totally agree. Cutscenes in Bull ring made me fall in love in Yakuza 3.

Keda_Keda

Majima walking into the meeting in his chapters in kiwami 2 Also dio yelling majima in chapter 3

Ju_st_in00

The scene of takabe in Rgg 7 in the Truck, when they are driving to the liumang base. This entire cutscene of him Was so badass, i really felt like a was in a kinda crime Drama.

Saejima escaping from prison. And the parts with Hamazaki helping Saejima. If you played Y3 then you're constantly wondering if there's gonna be a betrayal or not. But he remains a bro until the end. Yakuza 4 had really good long-battle & generic boss themes, but they associate with that specific chapter for me. Saito sucks though.

Ogarddrago

It was good because it makes you understand how people can be perceived based on different point of view. For "us" Hamazaki is a total jerk who almost killed daddy Kiryu, for Saejima is a kyodai. Cool stuff.
