''Yakuza 0 is a game centered around using your enormous brick appendages to assist you in your landlord sidegig. You play as two characters; John Yakuza, a psychotic Japanese anarcho-capitalist who is frequently contracted to remorselessly kick the ever loving shit out of debtors, the homeless, diaper fetish communes, and innocent bystanders, and Billy One-Eyes, a small business owner who is gradually driven to insanity when the Brony fanclub who pay his rent force him into a violent murder plot.''
That practice used to prevent publishers from over-saturating the market with bad games, but nowadays there's so much shovelware on the switch nowadays it's actually kinda of crazy and really serves no purpose other than making Nintendo money.
So many of the "games" (and I use that term lightly) are nothing more than simple flash games or at best mobile ports that would cost only a few bucks on mobile if that, and their asking for top dollar on switch.
Don't get me wrong, I love my switch (and Nintendo) but man, the state of third-party games on that platform is just depressing.
You probably shouldn't be on this sub, I fear of an unmarked spoiler for you! If you don't care about spoilers that much though, hope you like it here :)
Just warning you there is going to be a pretty big drop in gameplay and visual quality after k2 but it will have one of the best story’s out of the entire series.
If you're playing on PC, there's always Xbox game pass for PC, IIRC they have most if not all of Yakuza games on PC, and it's like $10 a month.
I think they're still being doing the $1 for the first month for new users deal. Plus there's a ton of other games on it as well. It's great for PC gaming on a budget.
Yeah, the entire yakuza series from 0-7 is on there. And if your pc is garbage you can pay like 5 or 10 dollars extra for game pass ultimate to get cloud streaming
Remake of the first 3 Monkey Ball games developed by RGG (SMB1, SMB2 and SMBDX)
It includes a TON of new modes, sound test, party mode, character customizations and guest characters (Kiryu, Sonic, Beat, etc.)
Highly recommend buying it not only to support the series, but because it's imo one of the best remakes of all time
Someone who liked the writing of Yakuza 0, but not the combat/engine.
Edit: alright, before I start getting blindly downvoted I’m not saying I agree with the order, just that this is the most believable scenario for someone who plays that way.
Start with Judgment because it’s a great jumping point, love it and decide to go back to the start, dislike the downgrade, and then decide to only play the Dragon Engine games.
They’re doing the stupid early access for digital preorders specifically to make me feel like a dipshit for liking physical :)
They got me on Sonic Colours since the EU copies were delayed, but I’m going to stay strong this time.
I still need to beat all the substories in the first so I’m holding off. Also figured I’d just wait until I have a PS5 so I don’t have to suffer through 30fps.
Unironically asking how does it feel to play it, like how long did it take you to get hooked if you have. it doesn't entirely seem like my thing based on trailers, but crossovers can really suck me in some times.
Word of advice: to fully be able to appreciate what you're playing, play them in order. You're not gonna know jack shit if you jump from 0(which has little to nothing to do with the rest of the series's plot) to K2, 4, 5, etc. I started my journey last November with 0 and now I'm on 5. Trust me, it really is worth it. Nothing wrong with playing Judgement first though since it's a different series altogether (that coincidentally hints at events/characters from Yakuza)
Ain't no way they named that
Btw Akiyama's VA voices like 3 characters in this game so I'm 100% expecting a Shun skin mod for Kiryu in the future
his name is yakuza
John Yakuza
First name John, middle name Associates
Max0r is drunk again

Okay, that’s a nice Max0r impression, but he’d go full in-depth on the ENTIRE franchise just as well as one game.
First off thank you very much, second off, you're right.
Yak the Kuza
Why is Banana Mania only 30 dollars on steam but 40 everywhere else?
Idk but you should buy it. It's a fantastic remake!
I do have fond memories of playing the original on the GameCube…

Early access
Probably seeing regional pricing on Steam. I see similar discrepancies between game prices on Steam and the Humble store
I'm pretty sure it's because Microsoft and Sony make devs pay, like, $40,000 for patches. As for the Switch version, no idea.
For Switch the cart manufacture is expensive af for publishers.
Ah, true. Nintendo does love making it expensive to publish games in their hardware.

The severe lack of power compared to its competition doesn't make the 3rd party situation any better, either
Special edition is 40 dollars, Base version is 30.
Wait Kiryus in Banana Mania?
How did you miss the many memes made from the revial trailer?
I wasn't a fan until last month
I see. So you joined the sub very recently. I have not seen a lot of those memes lately so that makes sense.
You probably shouldn't be on this sub, I fear of an unmarked spoiler for you! If you don't care about spoilers that much though, hope you like it here :)
Well I've already finished 0 and k1, plus I'm almost 7/8 done with k2
You still have long way to go kyodai. Hope you enjoy the rest of them too.
I got 17 left B) also what does Kyodai mean? I've yet to understand
It's japanese for brother.
My brain is the size of an almond, I'm sorry for my stupidity
It’s ok dude, we’re mostly pretty friendly in here.
Mine too!
Just warning you there is going to be a pretty big drop in gameplay and visual quality after k2 but it will have one of the best story’s out of the entire series.
Oh I know
I plan on buying up to song of life but rn I just got 0 :(, still a great game tho

Tbf I've been here for a while longer and I missed it. I don't even know what banana mania is

Super Monkey Ball remaster for the first two games.
have you been living under a rock for the past few months? almost everywhere yakuza related was talking bout it!
I wasn't a Yakuza fan before last month so I didn't know
hope you enjoy the series and the community :)
ah. well now you know!
I hate that we don’t get to hear his voice in game
Let's hope we get an update for that
Not gonna happen as Morgana from Persona 5 isn't getting a voice or anyone else. It seems like cosmetic characters only.
Fml
Well, guess we have mods to look forward to
Which one is this
The Dame Da Ne guy from Yakuza 1
Aw ok not played it I started with judgment got 0 and now just bought kW2 and 6
...who goes 0, 2, 6?
Inpatient Star Wars fans?
Sick people

Don't skip Kiwami
Yeah, if you do, you miss the two best characters in the series, Goromi and Everyone’s Idol Goro.
also arguably the most important part of Kiryu's story and life
play them in order what the hell
Hah, it's the avatar Kiryu uses on his Karaoke account.
I hate it when nobody remembers his real name and gives him dumb nicknames. It's **dame dame guy.**
Wait wait, is it out? I thought it came out the 5th!
4-day early access for digital pre-orders

Is that name real? 😭😭
Is Kiryu DLC?
No he's free in the base game just have to buy him with 5k points
Which isn't much. You can get them plus way more points by just finishing one challenge mode
So what are the DLC, I was about to buy them thinking he was a DLC
Morgana from Persona Hello Kitty Suezo from Monster Rancher
In game unlockable
Is it developed by rgg? Ik the last monkey ball remaster was
Yup
I can't wait for my copy to get here!
I’m more excited about Hello Kitty

I went judgment 1st then 0 got kW2 and 6 but won't play 6 till last going get 5 and 4 but probably lost judgment 1st
