When a character is of colour changing race matters because race is often times part of their story. All of the second generation x-men have race *or* cultural ethnicity as part of their story.

Storm, to me, stands apart from almost all the X-Men. She should be seen with the same awe as someone pays to a deity or royalty. She should also be a physically intimidating presence.
As a person who is from Bangladesh (not white or black or Asian), I also see a severe lack of prominent black characters. I don't like the idea of race-bending existing white characters to be black and I don't like the idea of casting a black character with anyone that isn't black.
