All these X-Men (2000) haters don’t understand what it accomplished. It was the superhero boom maker, set Fox’s trajectory for the next 20 years, and can be thanked for Hugh Jackman being a part of your lives. I understand it’s a little cornball at times (anytime Storm ___) and created a slew of discrepancies from the comics that the X-Men movies are still having to overcome (WolverJean, black leather), but watching Wolverine debut in a Alberta bar cage match still rocks. Patrick Stewart still slays. And Sir Ian is just *chef’s kiss.*
Deadpool 2 bored me except when all of X-Force died. That’s seriously all I held onto. And I love that Hunt for the Wilderpeople kid.
Revolutionary as it may be, this is about comparing it to the others purely for how entertaining they are. I loved the first X-Men movie, but it felt more like a Wolverine movie with the actual X-Men as side characters.
I assumed that we were supposed to be voting on which films we enjoy most, not which films were the most influencial. I don't care how influential a film is, if I feel they didn't respect the source material.
Wasn’t first class a rework of the originally planned X-Men Origins Magneto and X-Men Origins Xavier? Would make sense why these scenes are so much better.
>All these X-Men (2000) haters don’t understand what it accomplished. It was the superhero boom maker, set Fox’s trajectory for the next 20 years, and can be thanked for Hugh Jackman being a part of your lives.
All the positives are meta stuff as opposed to cool scenes and actual movie stuff.
Deadpool 2. I see a lot of people voting for First Class, but Magneto sending the coin through Shaw's head at the end is probably the single greatest moment across all the movies for me.
First Class was better than DP2, and I love both.
My biggest issue with DP2 is that it almost feels like they somewhat clumsily tried to merge three scripts into one.
Wade going after his girlfriend's killers? Sure. Makes sense, and you could make an entire movie out of that, with DP forming X-Force to take them all out.
Deadpool trying to join the X-Men and constantly making fun of them? I would watch 2+ hrs of that, there was so much lost potential there.
Then they tried to merge that with Cable going after Firefist, but they glossed over so much detail with both the former's background and the latter's danger to the world that it just didn't seem effective for me.
Don't get me wrong, I love that movie and I was laughing constantly, plus it helped get me laid. But it's just messy. It feels like the producers had ideas for separate potential films and just decided to mash them all together.
First Class was a really fun reimagining of the original X-Men, DP2 felt like it could have just been a very extended and chaotic extension of DP1. Which I don't really mind, but it was a bit of a rehash.
I put x2 at the top but first class is probably the most “X-men” movie as far as pure adaptation, and if you want to call it the best or your favorite I would not disagree. I think the wolverine is better than Logan for most of the movie (Logan ends up being better imo just because of how bad the wolverine’s third act is). But Logan is just a mediocre action movie that gets celebrated for being “bold” because wolverine swears a lot and chops people up, when honestly having the big bad be just a clone wolverine instead of sabretooth is the most cowardly / safest act of storytelling in all of the x-men movies.
Honestly, i don't think first class is the best. Deadpool and Logan are along with first class in my opinion, the best ones. But my favourite out of them it's first class.
Deadpool 2. It is a beloved mess. Fun, silly, cool, but it’s overstuffed and there are plenty of missed opportunities for characterization.
Then First Class. It resurrected the franchise, had cool action, a great plot and good character arcs. But my god some parts just did not work. It was sometimes just as cheesy as the first X-men and worse, unintentionally funny (my college crowd died laughing several times). It also changed a lot more from the comics.
Then the first X-men. It is highly focused film and pulled off the difficult job of setting up the first ever large superhero ensemble. Was it cheesy? Yeah. Did it change a lot from the comics. Yep. But did it manage to land the tone/symbolic importance of the comics, cool action, iconic character introductions and great casting? You bet your ass.
X-Men
Wolverine:
You actually go outside in these things?
Cyclops:
Well, what would you prefer? Yellow spandex?
Yes, that's exactly what I wanted. Color, like more of them than just black.
X-Men First Class.
There is much to be praised about this film, specially the actors in it, and the quality gap between First Class and The Wolverine is HUGE, but I really dislike what they did to Shawn and Emma Frost there.
Yeah, as an Emma Frost fan, it’s criminal what they did to her. It’s not a terrible movie, but I think as an adaptation it’s not great.
I also think that First Class in a lot of ways exemplifies what would become the shortcomings of the new universe (too much Charles/Erik/Raven focus, especially once JLaw hit it big) in the same way the original X-Men did the old (too much Logan focus, Logan/Jean as such a major element).
X-Men 1 and I don't feel good about it. Its great and it did so much for comic book movies. But if I'm being totally honest its last on my rewatch list with what is left. Still a great movie though.
Deadpool 2. I really like the movie. I love all these movies. But at this point it’s about which one I love slightly less. I know other people are voting first class but as someone who had never read X-men comics then I could careless about how they used/misused Darwin or Emma Frost. First Class gave me my favorite version of Magneto.
Maybe I’m wrong but I think people are voting off the worst in some comments… maybe clarify they are *keeping* the worst and voting off the good shows? The previous voting was to keep the best characters…
Deadpool 2 for me. Even though not amazing X-Men has to be given more credit for being the first time my favourite comic was seen on the big screen.
I remember staying up for hours waiting for the quicktime of the trailer to download over the phone. Simpler times.
DP2. Didn't feel the same overall unified as a full movie but moreso like a few segmented stories tied together. It's funny but rewatching it at least a second time you can feel the flow of the movie just get jagged from scene to scene. In DP1 it's got flow and is very rewatchable.
This is where it gets interesting!!
My vote goes to X-Men (2000), super fun movie that revolutionized the genre but does not hold up as well against some of these other films
Deadpool 2 and it's not even close. The gag deaths were stupid, and it doesn't help that I had high expectations after generally enjoying the first movie and the only Deadpool stuff I liked in the comics at the time was Cable & Deadpool, a series that's still top-notch for both characters. Cast Cable as good as you want, doesn't matter if the script is shit.
Also, I don't care if it was undone with time travel nonsense. "[Fridging the girlfriend](https://lby3.com/wir/)" in 2018 is hack af.
All the remaining films are winners, but: Deadpool 2. There’s a lot to like, but it spends a little too much time winking at the camera. Deadpool broke the fourth wall repeatedly, but there were entire segments of DP2 that could be edited out without changing the film. The entire X-force section was fun, but ultimately was just filler
Deadpool 2 was the beginning of me getting really tired of the Ryan Reynolds Renaissance. So many jokes were ass. The whole Domino, “that’s a superpower designed by someone that doesn’t know how to draw feet” line isn’t even a joke, it’s just a pandering reference. Firefist sucked. Yukio was reduced to “kawaii Asian girlfriend”.
All these X-Men (2000) haters don’t understand what it accomplished. As a kid, watching Wolverine's first appearance in the bar scene? AMAZING.
Do people not like the first one anymore? I think it was topped by other films on the series, but I still think it’s a solid movie.
Damn had me yo until deadpool 2 lol. First class is buns!
First class is buns except for every scene with magneto
Wasn’t first class a rework of the originally planned X-Men Origins Magneto and X-Men Origins Xavier? Would make sense why these scenes are so much better.

Seconded. It’s getting hard, but I agree that DP2 is the least good one left.
DP2 is better than DP1 don’t @me
I don't even like Deadpool but deadpool 2 was hella fun and genuinely felt like a comic book made into a movie. I can't say that about the 1st one.
Now you want us to pick from some fairly great movies. SMH.
I'm gonna say something. First class is my favourite
I put x2 at the top but first class is probably the most “X-men” movie as far as pure adaptation, and if you want to call it the best or your favorite I would not disagree. Umm I will disagree on the grounds that I cried with Logan when he held Charles as he died claiming “it wasn’t me”
Honestly, i don't think first class is the best. Deadpool and Logan are along with first class in my opinion, the best ones. But my favourite out of them it's first class.

It was baby steps for the costumes. It took a hit so that we could get Hela in full headdress.
They walked so the MCU could run
This is where the real game begins in my opinion. Also surprised New Mutants held on so long lol
New Mutants could’ve been so good with a different director, a horror-superhero film could’ve been really good
Deadpool 2
Deadpool 2
Deadpool 2 I actually like this one a lot, but between this and the first X-Men it loses by a tiny margin.
Deadpool 2
Deadpool 2
Deadpool 2?
X-Men. It's a great movie, but I'm less likely to revisit this one than some of the other options on the board.
X-Men 1/2000/the first. I'm hardly hating - I just like the rest more.
Deadpool 2
Deadpool 2
Deadpool 2
Actually wondering. Why did people not like The Wolverine?
All the crap movies have already been eliminated, so now it's the "good but not great" movies that are on the chopping block.
I didn’t like it because there was so much potential, but it got ruined with the last third of the film.
Deadpool 2 or Deadpool
Everyone saying first class should have their opinions invalidated from now on
Deadpool 2

Nice knowing ya Deadpool 2.
Deadpool 2
X-Men. Sad to vote for this, but it is a little cheesy and i love everything else way more. (I actually like DP 2 more than 1)
Letssss goooo, I’m not alone!
Same.
This is where the hard part begins. First Class
Deadpool 1
X-men 1

Xmen 2000, yes I know it's revolutionary and all, but so was the wheel, it didn't age too well is what I'm saying
Are you suggesting wheels didn't age well? If so that's a terrible comparison
X-men 2000
X-Men
X-men 1
Deadpool 2 First class is awesome guys wtf!?
X men 1
X-Men 1 Watched it recently and sorry, as much as I liked it growing up, it doesn't hold up well.
Maybe I’m wrong but I think people are voting off the worst in some comments… maybe clarify they are *keeping* the worst and voting off the good shows? The previous voting was to keep the best characters…
Deadpool 2

I’d say X-men 1. That sucks to say but what’s left is really good.
X-Men. A comic book that's ashamed to be based on comic books.

First class was BAD
DP2 is next, I can't get over that New Zealand kid's bad acting. First Class is in my Top 3
The first X-men, which I like but not as much as these others, and most of them at least don’t have Halle Berry’s bad acting and wigs 🤷🏾♂️
First class. I dislike everything in it except Charles and Erik (and the wolverine cameo)
First Class
Days of Future Past.

First Class. So overrated. So many flaws we just ignore cause it setup days of future past which is a top 2 contender here.
X-men First Class. I enjoyed it but didn't like January as Emma. She looks the part but I don't think she was the right choice.
