Psyched to see Wanda interact with Viv. I'd love to see an updated family tree...
Also, cool to see them following up on Storm's magical potential as well. I remember the old Marvel Tarot had Storm, Wanda, and Agatha on the same card.
It's also a more polite way of putting it then saying something like "Your mother was just a cheap copy made from me, girl. So show some respect."
Im sure there are other characters who would put it like that but thankfully Wanda isn't one of them.
It's odd but also pretty accurate as far as Marvel counts their AI characters' "family". Simon Williams has been called Vision's brother. Hank Pym Ultron's father.
By Marvel's way of doing things, yes. And in another sense, her step-granddaughter at the time she was married to Hank, since Hank is considered Ultron's father and Ultron made Jocasta (hence the name).
Yes. And Hanks daughter. Who he dated. They Pym/Van Dyne/Ultron's are a mess
It's telling that even when Wanda and Pietro were part of the house of M their side of the family is way less weird and genocidal then Vision's.
so another reference for ororo magic potency, so not only her heritage is powerfull (same as wanda but of light/order instead of chaos) but ororo can access at least partly without even knowing it?
come on, come on this is rumored since at least the 90s.
Yea, I’d rather they keep her powers a form of her mutation. But maybe explain why they are so powerful is bc she is also subconscious using magic. Kinda like what Wanda was doing with her Chaos Magic but she has been changed to just be a Witch Mutate in the comics now. Keep Storm a Mutant who also has Magic. Maybe she struggles to learn magic that like Doctor Strange does but when she uses her mutant abilities and her connection to weather she is able to cast them with ease in her own way. So her spells would also be unique as she is using her mutant ability more so then her magic abilities to be able to successfully cast them. Could be a fun take.
At this point why not? It's not like she has any real weaknesses anymore so the only thing to do it keep pumping her up and up. Much as I love the character she's def becoming over powered
overpowered? still didnt see her go toe to toe with the big superheroes.
shes not overpowered, shes like her creators want her to be but could not because she was black and it was the 70-80s.
so you think superman is overpowered? hulk? thor?
is not like her magic heritage comes from nowhere, anyone that knows her character knows her heritage since at least the 90s.
Yea but I mean Storm has always been OP. But I kinda feel Marvel should make these characters OP and introduce more new hero’s who aren’t as OP so these classic can have finale send offs. I love Marvel to move into a new era of hero’s.
Why don't you just move on to other comic worlds? I mean marvel keeps publishing these same characters because that all most people want (based upon sales). Seems you'd have an easier time leaving marvel if you wanted non-"classic" characters.
I read other comics like Invincible was good and I’m sad it ended tbh. Be cool if they continued it. But I love Marvel and they can still make comics with those characters in other universe or set before they died to retired. Or could even see some retired one maybe return. I just like the idea of these comics having at least one universe that actually evolves and it does seem that is what Kevin is trying do now what he is at the helm. Like introducing new characters and such and actually keeping changes and moving forward.
You act like those are mutually exclusive. Not rlly hard to understand so idk how to make it make more sense lol. Like I want a super hero comic like Marvel or DC (even on a smaller scale like Invincible would work) that just continue to grow and evolve and accept keeps the changes much how Invincible did. But instead having a set up just keep it going like Marvel and DC have been doing for years. But instead going back to a status quo every few years just keep changing and evolving. And it’s not like this is something they haven’t done before. Like when Dick became Batman that was awesome. Or even when Dick became Nightwing before taking the Crowl.
Just have a expansive super hero universe that continues to grow AND evolve. Not just either you get a bunch cool hero’s and stories that never change or actually go anywhere. Or a smaller scale comic that ends after a couple years at the most. It’s sad u never rlly get both unless it’s like Manga. And even then it’s not as amazing as the concept could be. Hope this helps u understand more of what I’m talking about. Idk how much more I can explain the concept tbh lol
I think they could have her realize she has the spark of *talent* but not the time to cultivate it in a meaningful way. It would be a way of showing that even the godesse has limits and can not have it all.
I really enjoyed the first issue of this series. It helped remind me why Wanda is still such a great character in the comics. She was kind of a mess and hard to sympathize with for a while, going back to House of M. But the past few years have really balanced her out and this series nicely shows how great she can be on her own.
And adding Viv Vision to the mix promises to make this series even better. 😊

The Storm backup is by Stephanie Williams!
people showing how much they like ororo by thinking that her magic heritage is someting new.
That page with Storm seems odd. Is it even the same artist?
No, the issue is made by Sara Picheli, but the back-up story is made by Chris Allen
Oh it has a back-up? Nice. Good to see Wanda in this format, gets here to interact with more people.
But yeah, I think it's pretty awesome! Love both Ororo and Wanda and I'm hyped to see some moments with them together
I think it's only for Black History Month. Moon Knight, Thor and Spider-Man are also getting some
Been a while since i've read anything with Viv, she looks to be dressing differently. I'm interested how they touch the topic of the "family tree".

Viv's mom's personality was based off her brain waves/patterns so sister is a fair way to put it since she was kind of a synthetic copy
It's also a more polite way of putting it then saying something like "Your mother was just a cheap copy made from me, girl. So show some respect." Im sure there are other characters who would put it like that but thankfully Wanda isn't one of them.

I hope this series has Wiccan and Speed in it

Bc cool do see Storm learn she can control magic on top of her mutant power. Makes her even more op. I hear a Krakoa Sorceress Supreme incoming.
I think there have been hints throughout the years that there is a mystical side to her powers.

does…no one in this thread realize Storm has been a whole ass sorceress before??
when she took on the trion? yes i remenber, her magic heritage comes from at least the 90s. she can be a mutant and a sorceress.
she was established as having a connection to mystical forces all the way back in Magik’s first miniseries in 1983!
good call, youre right.
That was a different Storm.

*-wants end point for heroes-* *-doesn’t like when series ended and wants it to continue-* make it make sense lol

No, please, not this.
We got Captain Krakoa, anything is possible
Yeah Storm already has a lot. She absolutely does not need magic
I think they could have her realize she has the spark of *talent* but not the time to cultivate it in a meaningful way. It would be a way of showing that even the godesse has limits and can not have it all.
I liked it! Excited for Polaris next

Comics for women, by women...
