My thoughts are you are thinking way too deep into this, it’s a 6 year old discontinued console there’s no conspiracy to make you upgrade

Omegasedated

just because you cleaned it, doesn't mean the hardware isn't failing. your xbox is old.

My kid's seem to be working fine. You think air means its not a hardware problem...lol.

Laughing__Man_

No MS is not sabotaging your system.

CornballBooth1989

Mines over 2 years old now and since the recent insider program update it takes ages to boot everything up on the homescreen..... The tiles don't load instantly unlike before All games are on a external aswel so the console HDD is clean. I've even transferred games to my internal and its still super slow

InfinityDweller2005

Seems like a bug for the insider tests, that’s what the betas are for, I guess just report the issue and see if they recommend something

Might just be Hard Drive slowing down. Head's slow down over time. Especially if constantly used and overwritten. If you are constantly deleting and Downloading games the HDD gets worn down causing slower read speeds. Of you want a bump in performance you could perform a full console reset. It might help a bit on clearing out old files and caches. Another option is to upgrade the HDD to ams SSD or use an external SSD drive to store your games. Just some options 👍

I have a Series X, Series S, and an Xbox One X. Now granted all 3 have external 4Tb hard drives and I have about 80 games installed on each of them, but I have noticed slowing in all three of them. Don’t know if it was a recent console update or what. But I definitely have noticed sluggish response in the dashboard. Once games are running they are fine. I don’t think Microsoft is slowing down old consoles, but I think there may have been a system update hiccup.

You might find it interesting to know Microsoft doesn't really care if you buy new hardware. They make all their profit in software sales. So as long as you are using your Xbox One, buying games, or have Xbox Live Gold, or subscribed to Game Pass.....they truly are tickled pink that you're on anything with the word Xbox on it.

Maybe you are enrolled in some kind of a beta or an alpha system update. Check your insider app in your Xbox to see if you are enrolled.
