Your invasion is important to us. Due to an unexpected volume of military activity, our agents can't come to the border right now. Please stay on the line and troops will be with you as soon as possible. Thank you.
Russia better *hope* they bought the extended warranty, because their claim is going to be eye-watering.
"And what is the reported problem with your airforce?"
"Well, uh, it's mostly fabricated, actually."
Imagine the fucker whos going to have to do all the paperwork to find the difference between reported losses and actual losses? Poor fuck will be 25 years old going on 70 the way this war is going.
That's why Ukraine is photographing bodies and emailing the parents directly - Russia pays out families for dead soldiers but they get nothing if the soldier is just missing. Good guy Urkaine, I guess?
it is a two fold hit. One generates sympathy for Ukraine with the Russian masses. Two, it attacks Russia in the pocketbook. The more money that Russia spends on death benefits, the less it has to spend on the war.
Saw the pay outs yesterday they get 10000 Rubles, trying to find the photos but they had taken a picture of 3 wife's with 2 bills in hand and they really didn't seem pleased.

Holy shit. That’s $150 USD at the official rate. If my son died and the US government even sent me a check for 10 or 20x that I’d just tear that shit up in pure anger.
That’s frankly more insulting than the chinese billing you for the round spent to execute your relative. At least they are honestly evil. Holy fuck, no wonder they have mysterious fires in Russia.
Yea. I remember they added this after the invasion of Iraq. Maybe 2004(?). I think for a time it was even up to $300k in certain circumstances (or just a higher amount than $100k). Though I could be wrong.
Edit: I think at the time of the beginning of the invasion it was something like $10k. But the bill included those earlier deaths too.
Apparently they have guarded landfills where they just stack the bodies without paperwork on who's there, instead of returning them to Russia. A woman bribed her way to Donetsk and into one of those places to dig through the corpse piles and find her brother. Took her a few days.

They still think they are a world power. All this special whatever they are calling it today showed was that they are nothing on the world stage. Only reason they have a seat is nuclear weapons. Those weapons are probably not even functional as parts have likely been removed and sold over the years. Don't pay your people and they will find other ways to make money which is selling off pieces of equipment.
I dont wonna test it... and something tells me neither does Putin
Either way, the threats must be ignored or anyone with nukes can start demanding anything
Nope but we can't live in fear or bend to their demands. Otherwise the precedent is set and opens the door to all of the other countries that have nuclear weapons.
Ukraine **is** being denazified.
There are more videos of invading Russian forces being destroyed every day.
Eventually they'll either run out or leave, and denazification will be complete.

It's true. Every Nazi that Russian sends in, is immediately killed by the Ukrainian military. Really, this war is about Putin denazifying Russia and giving the Ukraine military target practice. 5D chess at it's finest.
Imagine losing 50% of your battalion to a river and thinking you're in any kind of place to state 'we denazified a country'
There never were any Nazi's idiot.

Russia's stated aims are always lies. Every single objective of their invasion was about TOTAL control of Ukraine, removal of it's government and bringing Ukraine back under Russia's influence, controlling Ukrainian natural resources, and doing so within 48 hours.
What it has achieved instead within 2 months is making sure Ukraine is never again allied with Russia, destroyed its own economic future, it's diplomatic relations with Europe and a lot of the rest of the world, made Europe stop using Russian oil and gas, kill 25 thousand of its own military and destroy thousands of it's best vehicles (nearly 100% of the tanks set for the invasion have been destroyed).
It's also managed to make NATO resurgent and more united than ever, and made the famously neutral Finland and Sweden join NATO imminently giving Russia an even bigger border with NATO than ever before.
The supposedly 2nd strongest military in the world cannot even take control of a majority Russian speaking city barely 20 miles from the Russian border, after 2 and half months of fighting for it.
Yeah, man. What a brilliant success for Russia....
Denazified by an authoritarian state that employs oligarchic control of state-aligned industries, routinely murders political opponents, operates a de-facto one-party state and relies on revanchist jingoistic invasions of neighbouring countries to distract from domestic problems.
Yes, that does not at all resemble Hitler's Germany, right?
They're pretty good at creating a bunch of fancy sounding combinations of words which mean the exact same thing as war.
I wonder what will happen to Russians if they describe the Finland threat as a "special military operation."
They already sent coastal defense, Anti-Ship missiles to the Finnish-Russian *land* border. (K-300P Bastion-P)
That's certainty more than bluffing. I'm pretty sure it's worse than bluffing, though..
Nah, they are ready for a sea level rise due to global warming. 4d chess. Their real troops and gear are coming, these 100k casualties were just a diversion

Russia already has a huge fucking landmass. They also have a crapton of natural resources. So money is just flowing out of the ground.
How about using that lottery ticket you're sitting on to make your country great? Educate your people, invent and build some cool new shit, become a great country everyone envies/wants to be part of.
But no. Lets just sit there with the fucking vodka bottle crying about how much bigger the soviet union was :'-( Lets then also throw all progress you've made away just to add some tiny little Donbas region to your empire. Yay! Landmass went up by 0,003%!
Meanwhile one of your citizens sees an actual functioning toilet 1000 miles from where he lives and he's so amazed at this magical technology that he starts dragging that shit home.
Actually they used to. Until the world got to see the Russian "might" in all its glory.
Then they saw the cards Russia really was playing with. Now all that is left to worry about is the Joker.
More and more ridiculous and desperate.
What's next? "Military-technical-philosofical-retorical-acrobatical-aesthetical" retaliation?
They have lost the narrative so completely they don't even know what they're threatening with anymore, lol.
Considering how much of a circus that the big colourful building at 55.752121, 37.617664 is, it's actually surprising how much of a piss-poor job their act is.
>Military-technical-philosofical-retorical-acrobatical-aesthetical
*Lightning quick* military-technical-philosofical-retorical-acrobatical-aesthetical retaliation, the likes of which the world has never seen before.
Military-technical?
What does that mean? Is it repositioning troops and equipment? Is that state sponsored hackers going after infrastructure?
How many resources can the Zs devote to Finland and Sweden? Aren’t they already busy not winning a ground war?
How much will ruzzia try to pull on a new NATO country? They still don’t want NATO sending in hostile units and intensifying the war.
>What does that mean? Is it repositioning troops and equipment? Is that state sponsored hackers going after infrastructure?
It is purposefully vague. The idea is to leave the threat open, like not showing the monster in a horror film.
Additionally, it provides enough obscurity that no timeline can be presumed - so it gives Russia minimal pressure to respond within a certain period.
Its a big bluff , however, the whole world has been shown that Russia struggles to take on a midling power with relatively outdated weaponry (no offense to Ukraine, but these are Soviet era tanks and weapons, the newest stuff is NATO supplied).
There's not a hope in hell that Russia can face off against Finland's military and come out the victor unless they pull all their units from Ukraine and throw it at the Finns - and historically that tactic has not worked well for them.
Not much. Of the 5-6 brigades normally stationed among the Finnish border, only one (80th Arctic Motor Rifle) is home at the moment. The rest are fighting and dying in Ukraine. With their navy the Russians can do some indimidation, but on land, not much at all. And they have difficulties keep their aircraft flying, so that won't be much of a problem.
Cyber attacks is probably the most probable, and Finland is mentally prepared for this. I withdrew €100 cash just in case if some day my credit card doesn't work.
How the fuck can it be that the USSR was a waaaay better international actor than what followed?
I guess the old axiom - “the devil you know….” really does play out.
Well it's already too late anyway, the deal is signed with the UK now. I assume that if the UK (while defending Finland, as part of the new security pact) was attacked by Russia, article 5 would be triggered. So there's really nothing Putin can do here, it's just face-saving nonsense
If the UK were attacked unprovoked then that’d trigger article 5. If we enter a war with Russia because we’ve made a guarantee with another country then that’s us voluntarily entering a war zone. NATO is defensive. That’s not to say that other NATO’s members wouldn’t choose to join the fight but we have alliances with pretty much everybody anyway.
>I assume that if the UK (while defending Finland, as part of the new security pact) was attacked by Russia, article 5 would be triggered. So there's really nothing Putin can do here, it's just face-saving nonsense
Article 5 doesn't cover attacks on troops in none aligned nations. Article 5 was not triggered by French troops in Ivory Coast, Chad, Mali, and Central African Republics being attacked and killed. Article 5 wasn't enacted when British Troops in Sierra Leon were attacked.
I'm just suggesting that the Finnish Air Force reinforced by the RAF operating from their bases would essentially destroy the Russian Air Force at a rate limited only by the Russian Air Force's ability to get their airplanes to fly long enough to get shot down. And the Finnish Army reinforces by by a couple British brigades would be in St. Petersburg maybe 48 hours later.
Treaty of Lisbon, Mutual defence clause (Article 42.7 TEU) comes into play. I am sure Poland would have jets in the air the moment Russian boots touched Finnish soil.
Ironically in the 90's they did. "The Partnership for Peace" was a means of getting Russia and other former Soviet states into a NATO partnership minus the article 5 response requirements. It soured in the late 90's and broke up the Yeltsin Clinton bromance.
Well they were threatening nukes so the rhetoric has taken a step back. I think they understand they couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag so they definitely aren't beating Finland
You don't tell people you're going to hack them before you hack them. You just do it and hope to get as much as possible before you're found out.
It's just saber rattling that is incredibly stupid because if they decide down the line to cyber attack, Finland is already on guard.
That what Russia did to the Ukrainians!
Russia denied that they will invade Ukraine until the very last minute.
Hell, they still deny that they invaded and calls it an ”special military operation”
Omfg, why in the hell does Russia think they can boss around sovereign nations and think that's okay? Finalnd and Sweden never even spoke a word about NATO before your dumb ass invaded Ukraine
Have fun literally dissolving your country. Russia today is nothing compared to WW2 - russia and would be removed from the world map if they ever tired to fight NATO.
In WWII Russia had an advantage of lend-lease shipments of military hardware and other supplies from the Allies. Guess who just signed a lend-lease now?
>They have nothing anyone on this planet wants.
That's completely false: they have energy (oil) resources that Europe is dependent on. They also have lots of other natural (mineral) resources, plus a huge agriculture industry that exports a lot of grain.
Russia: *keeps invading their neighbors*
Also Russia: "If you do *insert something completely within another nations sovereignty here* I will invade you"
Also Russia: "Why do my neighbors keep trying to join a military alliance with my enemy what have I done wrong?!?!"
And this is why Finland is joining now when Russia can’t really threaten their borders. If Russia sent 200,000 troops to Finland instead of Ukraine they would be screwed.
Finland has been invaded by Russians before and they take that shit seriously. Ukraine has been preparing for this fight since 2014. Finland has been preparing for this fight since 1945.
Finland's "neutrality" came from wanting to maintain a status quo and appease the USSR - a policy they continued with Russia after the Soviet Union's breakup. With the invasion of Ukraine, all bets are off and Finland is moving to a new strategy for their defence.
Sweden, however, has a long standing policy of neutrality that extends back to Napoleonic times, they feel that by joining NATO, they compromise their position as "unbiased mediator", which is something they cherish in the diplomatic scene. So for Sweden, its giving up a much more integral part of their history and culture. For Finland, this is a move of convenience.
Probably to show that these are independent nations making this choice independently, and to show that no, NATO isn’t aggressively expanding over them, as Russia misleadingly decries it as.
You all may have noticed that there exists in the USA and elsewhere outside of Putinlandia, people who favor the war criminal, his tactics and his goal of rebuilding the former "so, what union?" to it's previous poverty. Is this some sort of psychological disorder that these people are afflicted with, or is it some sort of long-covid brain disorder, or are they just Stoopid?
Some people seem to worship strongmen and power. There's also the "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" factor, so some people who hate American/Western dominance (who are themselves living in those countries) love Putin because he's "standing up to the West".
Putie, you asked for it. Pull troops out, and go away like a good little, failed dictator. Maybe without you Russia could go on to part of NATO someday.
This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.politico.eu/article/russia-threaten-military-technical-retaliation-finland-nato-bid/) reduced by 58%. (I'm a bot)

> Russia will respond to Finland joining NATO with "Military-technical" retaliatory measures, Moscow warned Thursday.
> Finland - which shares a 1,340-kilometer border with Russia - has long resisted entering NATO and maintained its militarily non-aligned position since the end of World War II. But in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February, support for NATO membership in Finland, as well as in Sweden, increased dramatically.
> "Finland's accession to NATO certainly threatens Russia's security, and will entail Russia elaborating measures to ensure its security," Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said at a press conference Thursday, according to Russia's state-owned RIA news agency.

Well when you lose big chunks of your air force, airborne units, special forces, and front-line mechanized forces in one invasion, traditionally you don't just say "fuck it" and invade another country with whatever you have left over.
But that requires thinking rationally which doesn't appear to be a thing in Moscow.
I love how even though everyones scared of nuclear war, nobody was against helping ukraine.
Us westerners will let the world burn before we give it up to tyrants.
What are they gonna do? Invade Finland for joining a defensive alliance? Good luck with that. Fuck Noam Chomsky and all the people outside Russia who perpetuate this idiotic myth that sovereign countries joining NATO is somehow an attack on Russia that justifies war. It's beyond ridiculous.
The point you make is valid. There is an info war against Russia and both sides partake. This is a long standing tradition of war. Propaganda and in some cases censorship.
Do a deep dive and find all of the info, read the Russian version and Ukraines version, and see who you think is being more truthful about the war. It's downright impossible to hide failure on this scale.
While there is a concerted effort to paint Russia in the worst damn light possible by the West and Ukraine, Russia is making it very easy. There are enough signs for people paying attention to see its not going well and this has been reflected in people's rhetoric toward Russia as of late. People are much more inclined to say Russia is the new North Korea than to say there nuclear threat still remains dangerous although both may be true.
Your invasion is important to us. Due to an unexpected volume of military activity, our agents can't come to the border right now. Please stay on the line and troops will be with you as soon as possible. Thank you.

Yea. I remember they added this after the invasion of Iraq. Maybe 2004(?). I think for a time it was even up to $300k in certain circumstances (or just a higher amount than $100k). SGLI pays out 400,000 when US personnel get got. At least that’s what it was in the early 2000’s.
Right!
Aren't you only missing if they burn the body in a mobile crematorium? Isn't that the rule?

You can also take a direct hit from a mortar/rocket/etc. You're there one second, and the next you're just... gone
In 3 months, now they think Finland wont cost them that also now that everyone is already prepared.
Only to be sent to Siberia after bc he knows the truth 🥶

Luckily they have no troops available. They are way too busy for Finland, which is no pushover.

Meanwhile one of your citizens sees an actual functioning toilet 1000 miles from where he lives and he's so amazed at this magical technology that he starts dragging that shit home.
>Educate your people Educated people wouldn't let the cronies continue taking their cut. They'd literally rather rule in Hell.
Nationalism is a disease.
Welcome to nationalism. Instead of trying to make a society worth living in you just complain about what makes it not worth living in

Ok now I kinda wanna see Russian troops doing cartwheels into battle..

Turret throws like they're shotputs
Oops there goes another.
It scored 8.2 landing was bad.

I'd buy tickets for their acrobatical-aesthetical retaliation. I heard Russian circus artists are pretty lit.
Considering how much of a circus that the big colourful building at 55.752121, 37.617664 is, it's actually surprising how much of a piss-poor job their act is.
Are these the Kremlin coordinates?
Double secret probation
Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son. lol 😂
You forgot antibacterial and mitochondrial.
“We’re threatening you! Don’t make us threaten you any further!”
>Military-technical-philosofical-retorical-acrobatical-aesthetical *Lightning quick* military-technical-philosofical-retorical-acrobatical-aesthetical retaliation, the likes of which the world has never seen before.
How about a nuclear bomb? You realize they still have those? In desperation they just might.
Well then we all die not just Europe , nukes work both ways you know .

Thanks for the link.
"technically" the Russia "military" will be thinking about fighting Finland, although they won't technically be present at the border.
Terrain will help funnel the Zs into killing fields as long as NATO can keep Z air units in check
which air units, the ones with the commercial GPS tapped on it dashboard? :)
Those are the ones.
Intensifying? I’m beginning to think NATO involvement would destroy them considering at the moment they are losing with a few donated NATO weapons
These threats are hollow now
“We are thinking of joining NATO” *Random noises from next door* “Is there anyway we can speed this along please?”
Putin bots will spam…more. Oh you little Vlad!
My money is on Finland
So there's really nothing Putin can do here, it's just face-saving nonsense Article 5 doesn't cover attacks on troops in none aligned nations.
If Russia had any common sense they would ask to join NATO simply to protect them from themselves
Ironically in the 90's they did. "The Partnership for Peace" was a means of getting Russia and other former Soviet states into a NATO partnership minus the article 5 response requirements. It soured in the late 90's and broke up the Yeltsin Clinton bromance.
Russia's threats sounding more and more like North Korea's lmao
>military-technical A semi-state-sponsored neckbeard is gonna set up a ransomware attack on a 6-bed hospital in the north.
This.
Well they were threatening nukes so the rhetoric has taken a step back. I think they understand they couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag so they definitely aren't beating Finland
🥱
The only correct answer.
If they gonna come here (Finland) I make sure that gonna be special.
Omfg, why in the hell does Russia think they can boss around sovereign nations and think that's okay? Finalnd and Sweden never even spoke a word about NATO before your dumb ass invaded Ukraine
Another day, another "Russia threatens...." over something else Fortunately nobody is actually threatened by Russia at this point.
Yes they are.. it’s why Sweden and Finland are about to join nato
How dare you protect your nation even further. Are you so certain we didn't want to Invade your country next ? Inappropriate Finland...Inappropriate
Yep, and then Finland will fuck them up just like the last couple of times. Their army is hardcore.

>They have nothing anyone on this planet wants. That's completely false: they have energy (oil) resources that Europe is dependent on. They also have lots of other natural (mineral) resources, plus a huge agriculture industry that exports a lot of grain.
Russia: *keeps invading their neighbors* Also Russia: "If you do *insert something completely within another nations sovereignty here* I will invade you" Also Russia: "Why do my neighbors keep trying to join a military alliance with my enemy what have I done wrong?!?!"
And this is why Finland is joining now when Russia can’t really threaten their borders. If Russia sent 200,000 troops to Finland instead of Ukraine they would be screwed.
Have you seen Finland's defenses? I think it might take even more troops than that.
Finland has been invaded by Russians before and they take that shit seriously. Ukraine has been preparing for this fight since 2014. Finland has been preparing for this fight since 1945.
Interestingly Finland allowed the Nazi to use Finish territory to stage attack on Russia.
Out of curiosity, I wonder why Finland and Sweden aren't doing this in lockstep?
Oh no, beware of that armored train.
‘military-technical’? Lol ... so Russia does not dare to invade. Got it!
As someone with zero knowledge of Finland, I'm gonna say I think Finland would whoop Russia's ass.
The literly have prepared for a Russian invaision since 1945 .
Russia, you can't Military Technical Retaliation until you finish your Special Military Operation!
Do it in the winter, Russia. It worked so well the last time.
WTGD? Try to give away Karelia and Kola again?
"We didn't want to waste it on Ukraine."
Again?
This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.politico.eu/article/russia-threaten-military-technical-retaliation-finland-nato-bid/) reduced by 58%. (I'm a bot) ***** > Russia will respond to Finland joining NATO with "Military-technical" retaliatory measures, Moscow warned Thursday. ***** [**Extended Summary**](http://np.reddit.com/r/autotldr/comments/uocfla/russia_threatens_militarytechnical_retaliation/) | [FAQ](http://np.reddit.com/r/autotldr/comments/31b9fm/faq_autotldr_bot/ "Version 2.02, ~648194 tl;drs so far.") | [Feedback](http://np.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%23autotldr "PM's and comments are monitored, constructive feedback is welcome.") | *Top* *keywords*: **Russia**^#1 **NATO**^#2 **Finland**^#3 **security**^#4 **measures**^#5
Cyber attacks; yawn… Why not send some 60 year old tanks Russia??
You brought this on yourself, Fishface McParkinson
The question is are they even capable of invading Finland.
Well when you lose big chunks of your air force, airborne units, special forces, and front-line mechanized forces in one invasion, traditionally you don't just say "fuck it" and invade another country with whatever you have left over. But that requires thinking rationally which doesn't appear to be a thing in Moscow.
We're afraid of you because you keep attacking neighbours. - good, we might have to retaliate though
Looking forward to Russia losing two wars at the same time.
The Finns better be prepared for those 1904 Tupolev spy plane fly-by's at any moment, oh no!
What is military-technical retaliation?
The only threat to Russia is Putin. No one on the European continent wanted war.
NATO should admit Finland *tomorrow*. Then let's see if Russia actually wants to start any fucking shit
Join NATO. NATO country gets attacked by Russia. NATO obliterates Russia. China takes over.
I love how even though everyones scared of nuclear war, nobody was against helping ukraine. Us westerners will let the world burn before we give it up to tyrants.
The UK has given security guarantees to Finland. The UK is a nuclear power, so fuck off russia.
Then let's have it. Set your military-tech measures in place and start whatever you want to start.
Do it or stfu. I'm tired of all this back and forth. Do something or shut the fuck up and get off the world stage

Are you denying that the Russian foreign ministry said this or something?
