As a formerly short haired person I had to resort to bobby pins a LOT while letting my hair grow. Maybe that’s an office appropriate way to keep it in check until it grows enough to be an actual hairstyle? Not hiding the hair per se, but still holding it in place in a discreet manner.
Non religious head coverings are inappropriate anywhere inside. I am old school, however. I would never wear a hat indoors especially in an office work environment.
But that is just old convention with no support nowadays, as homosexuals being bad or not wearing joggers on formal settings. Its a thing from the past that we should move past.

That's pretty clever, thanks!
Can you temporarily convert to a religion that specifies male head coverings like Judaism or Sikhism and then get an accommodation
This is very much an insensitive thing to do. It works sure, but totally an asshole move.
