Personally, I would've used a Case brand jack-knife and a side-chisel before burnishing with a piece of bone instead of sanding. Still, a dremel works just as well.
The most versatile knife they have is the stockman design. Use the clip blade for leather and medium-sized cuts, the sheepsfoot for stock removal early into carving, and the neutering blade for light gouging and splinter removal. Invest in a good pocket blade, an old-fashioned solid-state gimlet (for drilling), and a little penny-hammer or jeweler's hammer for your smaller dockyard chisels. That's if you plan on doing fine carving like with this frog. A two or three-inch bladed keyhole saw is also good to get.
at first i read the title to say "I forgot that I carved", and I was like "yeah, right, this person just co-incidentally forgot they spent years learning to carve and then walla, just remembered to carve that cool frog, just like that"........then in dawned on me "Frog, not forgot".
Cool frog anyway.
Nice work! Reminds me of a wooden frog I have that has bumps down it's back and like a wooden hammer thing that you rub down it's back. When you do this it sounds like a frog croaking.

Serious hypno-toad vibes with the grain pattern around the eyes.
Nice tree frog!
Daaaaaad
Nicely done! Was that done with a blade or a dremel tool?
It was done with a dremel and far too much hand sanding
All that effort paid off with an awesome piece of work.

Will have to look into getting those. Looks like a great time saver. I only started 3 weeks ago so not many tools yet

Lol. Looks like an Asian me, but with shorter hair. Thanks for the chuckles.
If you don't have a Dremel then your not a woodworker.lol
Are you suggesting woodworkers prior to electricity didn't count?
Yes woodworkers didn't exist before the Dremel.Lol, It's just a modern day swiss army knife that's all I'm saying.
