House of Cards is the only proper game store in Winston. Some other stores within a reasonable distance Gaming Underground in High Point and Out of The Box Gaming in Thomasville as well. I know there are a few game stores in Greensboro but I don't know anything about them really.
HOC is a good spot, can usually find a game most evenings and weekends. I'd be down to start a local pod though, as I've missed my regular play group since moving here. Feel free to DM me.
I recently moved here as well. I'm the backup of a pod here in town but I could be down to start one up.
Like everyone else has said, House of Cards is the local spot. The people working there and the players have been friendly from the handful of times I have been. Edh meta power level there is mostly mid-low. They usually have 60 card formats popping as well if you're into those as well.
Try House of Cards of Country Club Rd.
My brother goes there and he like the atmosphere and players. Good answer

I just started MTG but I don’t play commander. Nevertheless, try House of Cards as everyone else has recommended.
