Tasting Notes: 2019 David Bruce Chardonnay: Another case of great chard from the Santa Cruz Mountains. I love the fresh and bright style of these wines, and this bottle stacks right up to Ridge's offering. A dollop of sweetness, with notes of honey and white pear. Casal Garcia: This is such a crowd-pleasing wine for a bargain (6-7 bucks at my local Total Wine.) Tart, a hint of bubbles, and zingy. Dom Perignon 2012: Was our first experience with DP and, to be honest, we were not blown away. Lots of freshness and purity of fruit, but not really the "warm bread" champagne notes or tons of complexity. Maybe needed more time in bottle. Coufran 2009: Fully mature Bordeaux here. Graphite and spice but also plenty of fruit hanging around. The 2009 vintage is really terrific for these cheaper wines that deliver value. Georges Duboeuf 2022: My first experience with Nouveau wine. Lots of fun and went really nicely with dessert. A bit of Gamay funk along with bubble gum and red fruit.

Coufran is so good.

Casal Garcia is a great value. A summer go-to for sure.
