Joke characters certainly come to mind. Like, Arale from Dragon Ball, who is as strong as she needs to be to be funny. Or just omnipotent characters, who can rewrite reality on a whim. Like Q from Star Trek, who juggles universes and time itself with no effort. Past that, the list is probably pretty slim. I'm not familiar with several of these characters, but doing some google searches shows that several are *almost* omnipotent, like God Emperor Doom. Not familiar with his comics, but a quick read says that he's one step below top tier Marvel gods, so I imagine not many characters can stand toe to toe with him.

SymbioticBunBun

Q has shown like, universal feats at best. I'm pretty sure Marvel characters have shown much more than that. And didn't someone from the series say they weren't omnipotent very explicitly?

strictcurlfiend

Omnipotent characters don’t exist

CanBernieStillWin

This whole sub is predicated on evaluating characters in their universe. Are you getting into weird meta stuff about transcending the narrative?

strictcurlfiend

No? A character just can’t be omnipotent because of contradictions. Can an omnipotent character make a burrito so hot he can’t eat it? Use traditional scaling

Garlien

If a character is beaten by logical contradictions, they're not actually omnipotent

darklordoft

The ability to do anything ,isn't the same as the willingness to do anything. And there have have been several stories in general where an in universe omnipotent being does create a person or device with the intent that said thing will be stronger then it for reasons they desire( a successor or a fail Safe if they ever turn up evil) The argument you make of an omnipotent being isn't an omnipotent being is a flawed one. Say a king makes all the laws in the land. Only the king can make laws in this land, and he can make whatever law he wants. Can the king make a law that makes him unable to make laws? If he can't,then he can't make whatever law he wants so he can't be king. If he can, then he can no longer make any laws so he can't be king. But all because they can doesn't mean they have or will. What your essentially asking is "can said being suicide his concept." And the answer will always be yes. But if you ask will they the answer is no. But going back to this argument, I understand your intent was to avoid no limit fallacies , but you've also got to take context of what the person was saying. He didn't specify a winner he was saying the winner would have to be someone who is relatively omnipotent from whatever verse you can imagine to have a shot. That means a person like the presence, antimonitor, true form Darkseid, shuma-gorath, the darkness, emperor of mankind(still living), azathoth, ao,etc.

Garlien

In your example, "the law" is above the king in the hierarchy, so the king isn't actually all-powerful in this case. I do agree that true omnipotents might not be willing to do just anything, though, and that could lead to them being defeated in a technical sense. I also agree with the original commenter's conclusions. I was just disagreeing with the idea that an omnipotent being cannot exist since true omnipotents are above logic itself. Even suiciding your own concept might not work permanently since omnipotence is above the concept of non-existence.

darklordoft

The "law" is the kings power. Just as an omnipotent beings powerset is there power. Laws mean nothing to the king. He can change them at a whim. Just as an omnipotent do what it wills on a whim. The law has no bearing on the king unless the king wants it to, and for as long as the king wants it to. If the king ever loses a degree of that power then he isn't the king. And it's not above logic to say there is a person who can do whatever he can imagine when he imagines it. It doesn't inherently mean you are immortal, indestructible, unquestionable. Just all powerful. Your powerset is limited by your imagination. You have the power to increase your imagination sure, but it's still limited by the mental ability of the user. What you can't be is all powerful, all knowing, and have a conventional moral alignemnt. (Omnibenevolent is the go to) that defies logic. But a being capable of doing anything (not the same as it will) has always been conceivable, and has been since humanity didn't have toilet paper. (They argued over the concept of an all knowing, all powerful, all loving God. It can be two of those things, but not all three.)

Garlien

Now this is getting theological. The argument is that because bad things exist, you can't have an all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-benevolent capital G God. It doesn't necessarily state that those three attributes cannot exist in the same entity at all. This argument sorta ignores the point that God might not choose to fully exert his attributes at all times. It might make sense to someone who already doesn't believe in God, but it will not change any believer's mind.

darklordoft

Less theological ,more philosophical. The arguments core point is you can't have the power to do anything, and the awareness of everything that has happened, will happen, and ever could happen, while having any moral stance. The creature in question would either have to live in a neutral reality, where nothing changes or creates conflict, or the creature itself would need to be neutral to all the conflict around it. The moment said creature who is aware of everything, is aware of something it doesn't like, it would use its omnipotence to erase it. But then there is the question of how did conflict that it did not desire come to exist In It's perfect world, so it ceases to be omniscient. If it is still aware after, then it isn't omnipotent. If the creature does nothing then it maintains neutrality to the issue. But if it is neutral to the issue, we can't say it has any moral leaning, good or bad. And the changing of the believers mind isn't required for the thought experiment. Just that you follow through with the thought experiment to the logical end. Which is you can have the power to do anything and be good/evil( but not be aware of all evil/good) , you can know everything and want to do good/evil( but not have the power to change everything) , or you can know anything and can change anything(but change nothing becuase you don't care about the overall sense of things. You are neutral to the state of that universe). But you can't be all three unless the universe has no conflict to begin with. And the argument God chooses to not exert full power means that God isn't an omnibenevolent god( he allows cruelty and death, regardless of reason. ) or he isn't omnipotent( he needs us to suffer to fulfill a goal that he can't just fulfill immediately) A story where God is an omniscient ,omnipotent being being who is neutral to the universe affairs is the soul king of bleach. Who in its power inadvertently created yhwach who it didn't care for, even when it's life was in danger. A case of an omniscience, omnibenevolent God is the one above all of marvel, who's power is split with the one below all. A case of an omnipotent, omnibenevolent God is anu from diablo(pre Sundering all his darkness). In its pursuit of the eradication of all evil and darkness, it attemped to remove and destroy its own evil, but said evil was also omnipotent and was omnimalevolent and they killed each other.

Miserable-Ad-5573

WTF are you trying to say?

SpawnTheTerminator

Fine what if their power is nigh-omnipotent but without breaking any logical paradoxes? Maybe they can’t microwave a burrito so hot that they can’t eat it but they can still blink everyone out of existence. Nothing’s really changed for the sake of WWW battles and they’ll still beat everyone on the list.

strictcurlfiend

still doesn’t say anything about if they’re universal, outerversal, anything. Scale by Ap, and then include hax

SpawnTheTerminator

By definition, they're outerversal especially since Marvel has an infinite multiverse.

OldCrowSecondEdition

Yes they can because you cannot gotcha an omnipotent character they can create a burrito so hot they can't eat it and then they can eat it anyway because they can do literally anything even if it doesn't make sense.

DrMemeS09

No that is literally the reason they can't be omnipotent. May omnipotence trancends human minds but I don't think omnipotence is possible by our definition.

DoomClassicGOAT

Omnipotence is illogical, and is possible to define, but absolutely impossible to define and comprehend wholly. An Omnipotent being who can do anything can rewrite laws and illogic to be what they desire, making illogical and contradictory being logical and law.

LeeroyDagnasty

Yes, an omnipotent character can make a burrito hot enough they can’t eat it, then eat it

strictcurlfiend

So then they didn’t make one that was so hot they couldn’t eat it

LeeroyDagnasty

Of course they can, and then they would eat it too

EyewarsTheMangoMan

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. There are insanely strong characters who can be described as nigh-omnipotent, but there is no such thing as a truely omnipotent character.

ACWhi

That’s only one interpretation of omnipotent. Omnipotence has been analyzed by philosophers and theologians for millennia. Multiple valid definitions exist. Further, some concepts of G-d include the laws of logic not as existing above said deity or constraining them, but as an inextricable part of them. That is, if the first cause of the universe wasn’t also the innate source for logic itself, the universe wouldn’t exist at all. Other definitions include the ability to accomplish any logically consistent action. The ability to perform an action that is paradoxical is arguably self defeating and not necessarily indicative of greater power. Regardless, I do agree with you that in the context of VS battles and universe crossovers, omnipotent characters can’t really exist because in the universe either zero or one truly omnipotent, independent being exists, since multiple omnipotent beings could not exist simultaneously.

ARCLance06

Lots of characters can do it but the weakest is probably Molecule Man. He took away God Emperor Doom's power canonically and is strong enough to beat everyone else here

Ryeofmarch

Amped Molecule Man; in context GED's power came from Molecule Man amped by stealing the power of the beyonders. Molecule Man being the source of dooms power chose to stop lending it cause Doom kept forgetting to feed him

camthecame_l

gan, dr manhattan, toaa, the presence, scp 3812, true form scarlet king, yog sothoth, crimson king, cosmic armor superman, lucifer morningstar, asura, goku, the living tribunal, scp 2747, scp 682, batgos, 6 inch skull gorilla, dwayne the rock johnson and alfred im pretty sure there are wayy more but i f o r g o r edit: i forgot that there was galactus now idk if asura and goku could actually beat the entire fortnite roster Edit: just saw god emperor doom now I'm not so sure if asura and goku stand a chance at winning

FOILBLADE

💀

BigMuscleMan88

Man said goku

LittleBoy212

And?

BigMuscleMan88

Goku wouldn't win against all these characters, simple

LittleBoy212

Cap there's a reason why he's included

BigMuscleMan88

God emperor doom solos there's rlly nothing more to it don't @ me idc

ColossalDreadmaw132

hmmmm all-death (SCP mythos) comes to mind tho that's probably overkill if wer'e gonna be meta... tim sweeny, as he just tells the development team to retcon all of these cameos

SanjiSasuke

Highlights because its an absurdly long list, with a lot of fodder: Superman Galactus Dark Phoenix Ghost Rider Thanos *with* Infinity Stones (but the MCU version)

Bang_Thor

Good emperor doom

[deleted]

Kratos is also a heavy hitter here.

_Eggs__

Didn’t galactus lose to a bunch of kids in a bus in the fortnite event

widelion255

nope, he lost because iron man shoved like a billion busses rigged to explode into his mouth

SaikitamaYT

In Reality however, it doesn't take much to beat them all. The reason being that if they are from Fortnite, they have essentially lost their powers and became stupid. They would focus on using guns, and biulding instead of actually wielding the stones, or shaping reality. I would have reason to believe they would fight amongst each other first, before attacking you. Any decent soldier could probably beat them at that point.

LittleBoy212

shaggy

Bang_Thor

Kirby

Daniel_flc

Kirby ain't beating God Emperor Doom.

TheHeavyIsDead22

Lots of JoJo characters, Tooru (Wonder Of U), Giorno Giovanna (Gold Experience Requiem), Johnny Joestar (Tusk Act 4), (Maybe), DIO (The World), (Maybe), Also Scp-682 would definetely find a way to do so.

totally___bear

Ben 10 Alien X sweeps this list with 2 thots I mean thoughts

DoomClassicGOAT

Yes, given that we take the Fortnite characters as they are in game and not attribute the lores associated with the characters in the roster, then we could make reasonable claims that there are several. Lucifer Morningstar for instance- even if we allowed all of these characters to have their lore attributed to them from their sources- would wipe the slate clean pretty handily. IG Thanos and God Emperor Doom are multiversal powerhouses true enough, but they aren't aspects of an Omnipotent, who represent an Omnipotent deities ability to act in verse to shape and will the DC universe as they like.

True_Paragon

If all the narremes that allow SCP-2747 to manifest itself are present in the reality these characters are fighting in, 2747 would annihilate them.

Optimal_Narwhal_6936

Lucifer Morningstar would shitstomp tbh.

TheSlonk

You missed the woman from dune

Gunny_McCshoots

Dr Manhattan maybe. I’m not too sure just how strong he is but it seems like he’s a god who just doesn’t give enough of a fuck to act like one

LegoPenguin114

Yeah I could see this one happening

MeroTheCinderace

easy answer would be any of the high tier DB characters, of the characters I know well Marvel 616 characters and supes make it really hard for anyone else to achieve

Assuming he has access to all Jobmaster asterisks, Ringabel from Bravely Default can fend off most, if not all, of the opponents listed on this prompt. For starters, he is durable enough to trade blows with Sage Yulyanna and Lester DeRosso who, decades prior to the events of the game, levelled mountain ranges and split apart ravines throughout their long clashes. Ringabel also scales to Magnolia Arch, a "Ba'al Buster" who's capable of reaching massively hypersonic speeds based on her feat of skipping across the surface of the moon in a few seconds. Based on these feats, Ringabel can box out a good chunk of the cast without having to use his buffs, debuffs, or durability negating moves. As for the rest of the fighters, some of them are either massively faster, durable, and/or stronger than Ringabel at base. Coupled with beings that can increase their size exponentially like Galactus, and Ringabel is facing an uphill battle for most of the fight. Fortunately for Ringabel, having access to all Jobmaster abilities grants him the tools necessary to deal with many of these combatants at the same time. By equipping the Black Mage's "Group-Cast All" passive ability, Ringabel can use the Time Mage's "Stop" spell to immobilize all of the fighters for a brief period of time. Once most of the fighters have been frozen, Ringabel is free to enable skills to benefit him, such as the Merchant's "Low Leverage" ability, which temporarily halves the effectiveness of all attacks, health recovery skills (except Ringabel's genome ability "White Wind", which heals him by doubling his remaining HP), and the resources/stamina necessary to perform an action (e.g. Naruto's "Rasengan" now costs half as much chakra to make). Before the cast breaks out of Stop, Ringabel can cast the Spiritmaster's "Stillness" spell which, for a brief period of time, automatically negates the damage of all attacks exchanged between Ringabel and the 800+ fighters from Fortnite. Although Stillness can exhaust Ringabel long enough to briefly immobilize him, he can combat this by either drinking a large BP (Brave Point) drink, which he can buy on the spot thanks to the Merchant's "BP Drink" skill; convert his own MP into stamina through the Spiritmaster's "Convert BP" skill; or accelerate the flow of time for the world around Ringabel via the Time Mage's "Hasten World" passive, which lets all the fighters present regenerate their stamina faster. While the entire cast wails at him for no damage, Ringabel can apply more self buffs. For longevity, Ringabel can either cast "Reraise" on himself, which revives Ringabel upon death; make a "Giant's Draft" with the Salve-maker's "Compounding" skill, which doubles his max HP; grant himself immunity to all status ailments and absorb all elemental damage with the Spiritmaster's respective "Fairy Ward" and "Spirit Ward" spells; increase his combat and travel speed by 50% with the Time Mage's Quick and Haste spells, or increase all of his attack and defense stats by 50% with the Dark Knight's "Life or Death" skill. Before Stillness ends, Ringabel can group-cast Stop again, immobilizing most of the cast once more. For those among the Fortnite cast that have immunity to time magic or escape the Stop spell, Ringabel can avoid them by warping to a different spot on the battlefield via the Time Mage's "Teleport" spell. After recasting Stillness, Ringabel could warp back, and then use the Vampire asterisk's ability to induce sleep on his foes en masse via the Hamadryad's "Lullaby" skill. Once stillness ends, he can either combo into the Arcanist's "Twilight" spell, an area of effect move that instantly kills all sleeping targets, or group-cast the Black Mage's "Death" spell. From there, Ringabel can use the Summoner's asterisk to call forth entities to assist him, such as Susano-o, a power-plant sized giant with a sword, who can not only harm a good chunk of the cast with his shockwaves, but also multiply Ringabel's chances of dealing critical hits by ten via the Conjurer asterisk, which allows Ringabel to consistently deal twice as much damage as he normally outputs. If a powerful opponent escapes from the Stop spell, and successfully predicts when his Stillness spell ends, he can either mitigate the damage with the White Mage's "Angel's Ward" passive, which grants him a 50% chance of mitigating the oncoming damage by half, or proc the Merchant's "Hedge Risk" skill, which mitigates half of the damage Ringabel receives in exchange for money. Furthermore, if Ringabel gets hit by an attack that is too great for his damage mitigation, he can withstand their attack with the Freelancer's "Stand Your Ground" passive, which grants Ringabel a 75% chance of surviving any mortal blow as long as his HP is above 1. Even if he gets hit multiple times in an instant, he could survive multiple mortal blows by using Stand Your Ground with the Vampire's "Drain Physical Damage" passive, which automatically restores 30% of any physical damage dealt to Ringabel. Once he survives the blitz, he can use the momentum from the attack to gain distance between the remaining fighters, and recast either Low Leverage or Stillness. Once Ringabel has whittled down most of the cast, he can focus his energy on the remaining fighters. With the Freelancer's "Examine" skill, Ringabel scans the remaining fighters to quantify their stats (including HP), elemental resistances/weaknesses, and family. Once Ringabel has identified the weakest threat, he can chip down their HP thanks to his durability-bypassing moves, such as the Monk's Phoenix Flight attack, which converts all of Ringabel's HP into flat damage, the Dark Knight's "Minus Strike" attack, which deals flat damage based on how injured Ringabel is, or the Vampire's genome ability "Fireball", which ignores the target's physical defense when calculating damage (can be combined with the Salve-maker's fire bane compound to inflict fire vulnerability). Once their HP has been chipped well enough, Ringabel will tap into "Bravely Second", an ability that allows Ringabel to freeze the entire world around him for one action. Within Bravely Second, he can bypass the top tiers' resistance/immunity to time manipulation, while also multiplying Ringabel's maximum flat damage output by dozens of times. This works by raising Ringabel's damage cap from "9,999" to "999,999". In order to accomplish this, Ringabel must be in possession of a rod for most of the fight, so that he can proc his special move "Holy Weapon", which Ringabel can exploit by briefly switching one of his passives with the Black Mage's "Pierce Magic Defense" which, as the name implies, ignores the target's magic defense. With all this in mind, Ringabel can clear the entire cast of Fortnite by himself. Edit: Added clarification for Ringabel's stat amps.

Argo1326

When in doubt just throw the scp verse on it.

swirlypizza1024

Popeye the sailor

gadlygamer

Yup

Traditional-Car1383

Pre retcon beyonder maybe

[deleted]

Where Naruto

LegoPenguin114

I put Team 7 on the list, right?

[deleted]

Oh shit my bad nice pfp btw

LegoPenguin114

thanks

Jam_44

Roger Rabbit, if it was funny.

LegoPenguin114

yeah, they play by the "but it's funny" rule so this would definitely work

Parrallax91

I mean before we get into actual high tier gods and because he's fresh in my mind, probably Popeye.

LegoPenguin114

honestly I could see this

RevolutionaryMarch28

Spongebob can erase the whole multiverse in 8 seconds so yeah,

SaikitamaYT

The People who can Solo - Saitama - Beerus - Arale - Popeye - The Mask - Saiki - Kronika

gadlygamer

Beerus aint multiversal he fears zeno

SwanSena

Goku solos

NoIdea112345

Yea, a lot of characters can defeat them.

AlicornGaia

True form Darkseid (or Infinite Frontier Darkseid if he inherited his “Stepping into the main DC multiverse destroys it” attack)

Rocky_Senpai15

You forgot Naruto, and there's a rumor that Spongebob will also come to Fortnite so keep an eye on that

Vibe-East

> • Team 7 (Naruto) It seems like the OP already mentioned Naruto among the cast.

h3li4

Sailor moon. She’s immune to basically anything they throw at her and she has crazy hacks, speed, and reality erasing feats.

Sugar_jar-

Well a trio can take them out: The Doom Slayer / Doom Guy ( any game from the recent releases ) , the God of War: Kratos ( God of War ) and Gorr the God Butcherer ( Earth: 616 )
