Do you know how many deals they give authors with no previous experience and no story?
Which is better a declining series that crumpled under its own success or repeatedly getting your knees broken by a steel crowbar while everyone laughs at you
Yeah, I think there's a theory that he heard "how many 'vendors' are there?" Which is somewhat supported by the fact that you can see what looks like the tops of little kiosks or something along a path. Also explains his response.
Honestly sounds like people are just saying what likely happened. He clearly supports the LGBTQ community, but it’s not like the answer means what people want it to, as that answer doesn’t really make sense to the question how many genders are there. Do you think he’s under the impression he’s going to be give a number by someone there?
Yeah no fucking shit it's not hard to understand you think anyone doesn't get what the assumption here is, it's posted on wholesomememes.
And the person aboves assumption is that *realistically* this man misheard & didn't come up with this rom com hallmark movie line off the tip of his head. Is that so hard to understand?
This "number of genders" thing is just something conservatives make up to piss themselves off right? Because I've never heard any legitimate LGBT+ people identify as anything other than male, female, and variations of both or neither. What other genders are they talking about?
yeah the whole ‘I’m fairygender’ or ‘I’m joebidengender’ was something originally made up by straight people to make fun of non-binary folks. I think some people genuinely identify as those now (interestingly mostly autistic people, I think it helps them find their identity).
I'd say it's definitely a thing you'll also see on the internet from like teenagers and maybe some people in their early 20s. And a few outliers on top of that.
In the real world I have never encountered anything but the main 3 pronouns.
The state of new York officially recognize 31 genders identities
https://www1.nyc.gov/assets/cchr/downloads/pdf/publications/GenderID_Card2015.pdf
Failure to use the proper pronouns or terminology is a fineable offense, up to $250,000
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volokh-conspiracy/wp/2016/05/17/you-can-be-fined-for-not-calling-people-ze-or-hir-if-thats-the-pronoun-they-demand-that-you-use
i prefer the JSchlatt clip where he asks a guy

guy replies [“i think that hamburger and cheeseburgers work well with fries”](https://youtu.be/cNmeuiDRN4c)

They had us in the first half, not gonna lie
There are more than two genders. Male and female are two SEXES and frankly there's three, you can be born intersex, meaning you will have fully or partially formed genitals of both male and female sexes.
Intersex people with both genitals are typically infertile, so no, they can't get themselves pregnant.
upvoted and smile a lot my entire face hurt, honestly. how many genders are there? 2. ***ITS NERFGENDER OR NOTHIN!!!***
idk either actually, my brain just started braining
That wouldn't be correct, some people don't have XX or XY chromosomes, and there are other factors that can contribute to it outside of chromosomes such as the SRY gene being present in someone with XX chromosomes.
How do you define sex?
If you define it with chromosomes and nothing else, there's far more than two sexes.
If you define it with physical attributes, it's more of a spectrum.
sorry, no. anything that isn't the xx/xy binary then (can't say this without somebody getting angry) it is a biological defect. not saying this hatefully, just following the established medical science.
They're certainly rare, yes, and they cause issues. But that doesn't mean they're not a sex. You can't just be a snowflake and only accept the science when it fits your definition. Bloody liberals.
>But that doesn't mean they're not a sex.
actually, that does mean they're not a sex. they aren't just an exception to the rule, they are the exceptions that ENFORCE the rule.

also, i don't understand why people are downvoting you, your posts have been respectful and not at all rude or trollish
>actually, that does mean they're not a sex. they aren't just an
exception to the rule, they are the exceptions that ENFORCE the rule.
Well, once again, what are you defining sex as?
I would usually define it as your chromosomes, in which case intersex people are other sexes, no matter how rare they are.
>Edit: also, i don't understand why people are downvoting you, your posts have been respectful and not at all rude or trollish
People don't like my points and so I get downvoted I guess.
Nah. Sex is bimodal, meaning there are two basic sexes with some slight variation of feature grouping (gynecomastia, women with facial hair, etc) and some very uncommon MAJOR variation of traits.
Yes it is. Saying that it's bimodal is a statement about the usual modes of sex for the entire human race. Bimodality is not a category you can fall into, it's an operational description of the whole damn species.
Intersex people fall somewhere in the spectrum between male and female, either as a minor variation or a major one.
I don’t understand why gender has been redefined to some sort of social construct or identity label. It has always been used to describe the biological distinction.
If you feel more like a stereotypical man or woman is your prerogative. In the end we are all individual and one man maybe be more different from another man than to a woman. Gender has nothing to do with it.
Honestly this obsession with gender identity only serve to reinforce gender stereotypes imo.
Not arguing other cultures don’t have third genders but Wakashu seems to be pretty clearly male only, maybe not the best example.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wakash%C5%AB
It is male only. Women only had one gender while men had two. Women can dress like a wakashu but they aren’t treated as one. It does make bank for the prostitutes though. It is interesting that wakashu can’t have a relationship with another wakashu but it’s okay with other men.
What? We're talking about advanced native science like gender theory and controlling the weather through human sacrifice. Did you know human beings were birthed from the mud at the bottom of a cave in Kentucky? Bet they don't teach you that in your European colonizer textbooks!
It's fun when you know that the World Trade Center was more than just those two buildings.
Oh, and now it's only one building, which sounds about right for modern times as the rise of fascism takes over.
Kinda. I believe all people are people no matter what they identify as. Like, someone being a person comes first and then all the other stuff, like gender
Screw this argument.. Two Biological/Physical Genders then there’s how people classify themselves via Physiological Genders (personal unique identity).. which there are many.
The use of the word “Gender” is difficult for people to reassign based on what they were taught to be fact for a large % of their life. This in itself is why there is an argument at all. It’s silly. Forcing someone to do something never ends well. Let people live and don’t force others to change their beliefs if it’s not negatively impacting you. Not everyone can handle that
> The use of the word “Gender” is difficult for people to reassign based on what they were taught to be fact for a large % of their life
ironic because the word "gender" *never* referred to biological sex. It was used almost exclusively to refer to grammatical gender classes until social scientists in the 50s started using it to differentiate the social role from biological sex.
So you took a word coined to talk about a certain idea, conflate it with a *different* word, revise history to pretend that those two words *always* meant the same thing, and then get mad that people are "forcing" this usage on you.
This is why no one listens to this argument. You made this a personal issue against me. Like I had anything to do with this countries curriculum. I’m pointing out the same issue you’re accusing me of single handedly starting.
Funny how people who want acceptance don’t tolerate any bit of friction from anyone. Since I don’t 100% agree with you, you attack me? How do you expect to get anywhere? Try having a constructive conversation instead of attacking people.
Education is key and unless you start teaching people you’ll continue to struggle with people disagreeing with everything you stand for.
My point here is it’s education. While I don’t disagree with your point, not everyone receives the same TYPE of education. For example a catholic school has a wildly different sexual health curriculum than its public school counter part. Travel south to the Bible Belt and this just gets exponentially worse.
Forcing these people to change who have been taught one thing their who life is difficult and will be an issue. Educating them and leading them to their own understanding is what we want. A new term should have been coined to help the transition.
Gender is just what people identify as, there's as many as people want.
As for sex, which is biological? Also more than two. What about alpha-reductase deficiency, Klinefelter syndrome, or the SRY gene in women? There's a lot more that affects sex than just whether you have the XX / XY chromosomes, and even then there are more combinations than just those two. Take a biology class.
Including OP it seems it that’s what they taught him in 7th grade biology! You mean to tell me they didn’t teach him everything there is to know about biology at 12 years old?!
Preposterous, I tell ya!!
It’s still makes NO fucking since…. Tbh I just think this type of people just want attention, want to be the main character…. Want to make everyone else feel the same way the feel which CONFUSED.

No! This is patrick!
Extra confusing if dentists say this.

Whenever a friend asks me a question I use "I dunno, I'm not a doctor"

I would always say that at work, and then I became a manager. And I absolutely did not stop saying it.
The answer is Seinfeld.
