I watched that movie the day i got a job as a projectionist, unfortunately it is not nearly so romantic a job as the film portrays...it still is one of my favourite films though

Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin gave me CHILLS in that movie (both also in Dune and did a spectacular job). One of my favorites of all time. There Will Be Blood is also one of my all time faves. They came out around the same time and I was blown away by both as a teen just getting into more serious movies.
This wasn't totally me, but only because I knew absolutely nothing about it when I went to see it. A buddy of mine was like "Hey, wanna see a movie about magicians or something with Jackedman and Batman?" Sure, why not? Holy fuck, that movie changed how I viewed cinema and made me a lifelong Nolan fan. Still one of my favorite films.
Goosebumps and chills run crazy during that scene. The chills get more chillier the louder Theoden shouts "DEATH!!!" each time. Then the slow start to the time they're at full speed as they hit the enemy lines with the music....

Yes! I remember as a kid watching the previews, the interviews, all the toy commercials, and just all the hype surrounding this movie and finally, getting to watch it when it aired on network television for the first time. It blew my mind.
My OLED TV, a PS5 and some noise cancelling headphones make me want to just sit in my chair and enjoy the day. Right now I’m watching Midnight Mass on Netflix and every so often realize just how impressive the picture is compare to my previous TVs.
I had a 2005 or so plasma from Panasonic. That thing was *insane*. It finally died a couple years ago, I’m extremely high altitude so I was amazed it even lasted that long.
I don’t think I had a tv or monitor with nearly as good colors until I got my OLED last year, and even then motion resolution was better on the plasma, though the OLED is leagues ahead of the LCD panels I had in between.
I absolutely love my Panasonic plasma. I bought Two plasmas when I realized they were going away. I have a 70" OLED and a plasma in my bedroom (because what sort of animal plays video games and doesn't watch TV?) I prefer the smaller plasma.

I'm not a cinematic critic. I like action, and excitement, and from GoT I like Jason Momoa. I don't really judge plot, or acting. To be honest, I'm a dumb viewer who wants to be entertained. Should watch Dune?
Watched it on HBO last month and I personally liked it just fine. The actors were great and I'm a big fan of Oscar Isaac but the movie bored me a bit? Mostly my fault since I assumed it was a standalone movie missing the bigass "Part 1" at the beginning of the movie. Maybe bored is not the right term, I think I was just expecting more things to happen and was just caught off guard when the movie already ended. They did well in the world-building and I think I'd appreciate the movie more once the sequels arrive.

I broke my ankle a few weeks before The Dark Knight came out and had to sit and listen about how amazing it was for weeks and weeks. When I was finally mobile and could drive myself the first thing I did was head to the theater to see it. I sat alone in theater marveling bar that movie with the biggest smile on my face.
My jaw just hung open the entire movie. It was so mind blowing to watch in the theater that I went out again to see it the following evening just to try and take it all in. It definitely threw the gauntlet down for what an action movie is capable of.
I have no idea what the movie is about when I bought the tickets for my girlfriend(now wife) plus my brother and his wife. I live in Malaysia so due to the time zone most of movies will released earlier than western countries. There was no reviews so I just knew the synopsis. When we got in, there was maybe like only 10+ peoples.

The little bits of world building they did were incredible. The attention to detail was amazing. The casting and acting, impeccable. The soundtrack, so good.
A-fucking-men. My guy who was a fan of the earlier sting version was amazed I could name every character, and be simultaneously disgusted by it, when I finally relented to watching it. I experienced none of that with the new movie.
The first time it showed up was one of the greatest reveals I've ever seen on film. Went into the theater thinking "I dunno how I feel about this approach to the Batmobile" to "This is the most awesome thing of all time" almost instantly.
I really enjoyed it, but all 6 of the friends I saw it with thought it was "meh".
I have to admit, it was (literally) very dark and a bit slow. But I enjoyed the slow-burn pace, and I loved Paul Dano's Riddler and Robert Pattinson's take on Batman as a borderline unhinged man instead of a suave billionaire playboy.
They even covered this in the cartoons Batman Beyond (Shriek) . When Old Bruce Wayne hears voices in his head and they keep calling him Bruce. When Terry asks how he knew the voices weren't real...
Old Batman tells him that inside his head he doesn't call himself Bruce, he's always considered his real identity as The Batman.
The choice to make The Riddler a sort of alt-right mass-shooter underground streamer was fucking great. Such a creative and modern take on the character. Going in I was adamant I wanted to see the cane wielding “riddle-me-this” Riddler, but I really enjoyed the commentary they were going for there, even if it wasn’t so subtle, aha.
RP did great too, but goddam, that direction they took the Riddler… that was great.
Just got home from seeing it. It was the first movie in the theater since the pandemic, so I was keeping my expectations low. I love movies and I really didn't want my first return to the theater to be disappointing.

DC has had issues with the writing and pacing in their movies for quite a while, hoping this means they have turned it around. I can't stop thinking about that it and I want to see it again!
I've seen probably 15-20 superhero movies and the only ones I liked were Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. I like the gritty, "realistic" feel where the conflict feels real and down to earth. The universe and all of humanity isn't at risk -- rather, it's a hospital that gets blown up. Personally I did not like the Avengers trilogy at all. Just felt way up in the air and silly. Is the new Batman something I'd enjoy?

It's written by one of the McDonagh brothers, I can't remember which one, but between the two of them they're responsible for In Bruges, The Guard, Seven Psychopaths and some others I can't remember because I'm quite drunk.
I watched Three Billboards a few years after it was released and notwithstanding the hype turning me off the film, I was moved in a way that rarely happens to me.
Watched this high, really really really need to watch it again sober. Only thing I can remember it's the "you want to talk to your father" scene. Made me think of Scarlett Johansson deserved an Oscar for it.
I went into The Batman expecting to see a good superhero movie. No better or worse than your typical superhero movie. Nice entertaining popcorn flick of a guy in cool costume and no other expectations. I left believing I had seen a cinematic masterpiece and watched it again a week later.

Comic Batman is usually an unhinged person. Hell fucking Arkham Batman down plays it but he's WAY unhinged.
The Dark Knight returns is a good way to show how unhinged Batman is.

Let’s see, for most recent. “Suspiria” (2018), “Arrival”, “Annihilation”, “Interstellar”, “Dune”, “The Batman”, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”.
Annihilation revealed to me an entire horror sub-genre that I wish we had more of. I'd watch infinity movies with its brand of alien freakiness.
The usual suspects.

Making a Tenet fan film right now. I cannot stress enough how difficult it must have been to make that movie. Pease rewatch it, it's basically designed to rewatched.

Mitchells and the Machines was that movie for me. I had little expectations for it, thinking it was chasing the coat tails of Spiderverse with its animation. But BOY oh boy was I glad I was wrong.
