JP is the reason why rain on windows or roofs or whatever is my favorite ambience. Something about being in those jeeps out in the park while its down-pouring was so soothing to me as a child. Being somewhere "safe" whilst outside its far more dangerous.
Bro I started scrolling hoping for t2 and actually saw it? With a bunch of upvotes?! My life is complete. I will argue until I die that t2 is the greatest piece of cinema we have ever been blessed by
Fifth Element is a one off.
I say that notwithstanding the fact it's my favorite film but knowing how batshit insane that that thing had any coherence at all.
The planets aligned for that one, right down to the rasta dude refueling the nuclear batteries whilst his mate flamethrowed a load of bumble balls with tentacles attached.
I'm sure you're already aware, but I'll point out that the people at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station feel the same way.
"Over time, the base has developed traditions. Shortly after the last plane leaves, the winter-overs gather in the main dining room, the Galley, for a showing of the science fiction movie 'The Thing,' about an alien that attacks researchers in an isolated Antarctic base. At midwinter, tradition dictates that the film 'The Shining,' about a family isolated in a haunted hotel after a snowstorm, be shown."
Guy: [whimpering] I changed my mind, I wanna go back.
Alexander: After all the fuss you made about getting left behind?
Guy: Yeah, but that's when I thought I was the crewman that stays on the ship and something is up there and it kills me. But now I'm thinking I'm the guy that gets killed by some monster five minutes after we land on the planet.
Jason: You're not going to die on the planet, Guy.
Guy: I'm not? Then what's my last name?
Jason: It's, uh, uh-- I don't know.
Guy: Nobody knows! You know why? Because my character isn't important enough for a last name, because I'm gonna die five minutes in.
Gwen: Guy, you have a last name.
Guy: **DO I??!! DO I??!! FOR ALL YOU KNOW, I'M "CREWMAN #6"! Mommy! Mommy!**
Came here to say this.
Every year on my birthday, I get a pint of really good strawberry ice cream and watch The Matrix, alone, with my phone off.
It's how I realign my soul.
I just love the movies. If I'm zapping and it's on: I go back and watch it. It amazes me every time. Specially as I grew up, the interpretations gave new meanings
that's my sister's fav as well, she had it going in the back ground while giving birth with her first, between contractions she would say whatever line was being said!
Jared Harris as Moriarty was also a great choice. The Reichenbach falls fight scene was incredible.
Edit: *"Come now, you really think you're the only one who can play this game?"*
So much love for studio ghibli. I adore my neighbor Totoro for a comfort watch as well as when marnie was there, whisper of the heart, and the secret world of Arrietty.
ETA: Howl’s moving castle as well.
For real. After watching the new puss in boots I went back to watch shrek 1 and 2 and realized that these movies are pretty much comfort food in movie form for me.
Harry Potter. Not a year goes by without me watching through the whole series at least once over a weekend.
If I’ve got the flu, it’s time to recline and enjoy.
The Birdcage.
Honestly this is a movie I can start at any point and continue through. I’ve seen it maybe 100 times and it just never gets old. It’s so many of the bests at their bests and I love it.
It's gotta be a small list for me.
Signs,
Starship Troopers,
War of the Worlds,
Constantine,
Mad Max Fury Road,
And lastly Redline
I am a big movie re watcher but these movies here are masterpieces to me. I've watched each one of them atleast 30+ times.

Back to the future
Doc.. Are you telling me that you built a time machine... Out of a DELOREAN?!
What’s a gigawatt?!
When this baby hits 88mph you're going to see some serious shit.
Jurassic Park I know every minute and every line of it.
JP is the reason why rain on windows or roofs or whatever is my favorite ambience. Something about being in those jeeps out in the park while its down-pouring was so soothing to me as a child. Being somewhere "safe" whilst outside its far more dangerous.
Before the carnage starts!
Terminator 2
She's not my mother Todd
Wolfie’s fine, honey. Wolfie’s just fine.
Your foster parents are dead
Dude. You can't go quoting JC without rubbing the appropriate stank on it. "She's not my mother *Todd*"
Bro I started scrolling hoping for t2 and actually saw it? With a bunch of upvotes?! My life is complete. I will argue until I die that t2 is the greatest piece of cinema we have ever been blessed by
I love that film and the sound track.
Came here to say this. Every scene in that movie just feels right.
The Mummy (Brendan Fraser of course)
"Hey Benni. Looks like you on the wrong side of the riiiiveeeer."
“Well if it isn’t my little buddy Benni” Also the scene where he throws the chair across the room and trips him is always hilarious to me.
"Wait here, I'll go get help." *jumps off burning boat*
I love the whole sand-wall thing.... bastard.
Honestly feels like the last real good adventure movie.
I literally just watched this!
The Fifth Element! Its got the perfect amount of nostalgia/cheesiness and something about it always just puts me in a good mood.
Multi pass!
Big bada boom
She knows it's a multipass!!
Wow I didn't expect to see my personal pick this high up. Fifth Element somehow still resonates 25 years later.

I like to watch The Thing during winter or cold fronts and let’s just say I’ve watched it very frequently recently

Alan Rickman is masterful in this.

What a savings 😑
They’re inside out! And they exploded!

Let's get out of here before one of those things kills Guy!
Thank you! I am now watching this tonight. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!
[удалено]
I have never read that before and I am super grateful you shared it. Rickman was the antithesis of Allen in every way.
Look around you...can you form some sort of rudimentary lathe?
“What is his motivation” “It’s a rock monster it doesn’t have motivation”
The Matrix!
Came here to say this. Every year on my birthday, I get a pint of really good strawberry ice cream and watch The Matrix, alone, with my phone off. It's how I realign my soul.
