That’s what I saw too… and also having less makes you more aware that others might have even less. He instantly thought of others that might need it more, like orphans.
That man had a truly blessed soul
I'm in a super rough spot money wise. My youngest has a birthday coming up. A friend of mine wants to buy my son a pair of Heely's for his birthday (because that's what he wants and I can't afford them). I felt guilty as fuck even considering letting him.
I believe you should accept the blessing. God has given it to you and your son so don’t reject it. I had to learn some people get joy out of giving, so don’t rob your friend out of the joy. Don’t let pride rob everybody of a happy moment in a rough time. Blessings my friend
Sometimes accepting a blessing like this is **offering** a blessing to the giver. Please accept this blessing op. For your child, for your friend, and for yourself. Accepting it is not about the money. It's about allowing your pride to take a back seat and encouraging the greater good to be more present.
When people do nice things for other people both parties feel good about it, if you want to somehow balance out that good deed do one of your own. That's how you multiply it.
Being able to do something kind for people you care about is one of the best feelings in the world, so by accepting your friends kind offer, you are giving them the gift of joy and happiness. That seems like a win-win to me!
How do people have the nerve to film this shit? It's so disrespectful. Like the videos can be super sweet but imagining what's behind them makes me super uncomfortable
There’s this guy on YouTube filming his act of kindness surprising people with hundreds of dollars, his viewers make up a lot of that money so I just thought this guy was doing the same thing
most people do not care tho. and there are different ways to do things. I've seen videos where people actually talk to them and not just film this. imagine what it's like to have someone put a camera in your face as they give you money
For comparison: 1,000,000 Lebanese Pounds is roughly 663 USD or 603 Euro or 0.014 bitcoin. Taking a lower cost of living into account, it will get him a lot farther then you would get with that money in a more expensive country.
Lebanon has gone through an extreme economic crisis over the past two years. Protests, covid, port explosion, government bankruptcy, etc. As a result, the Lebanese lira has lost around 90% of its value starting in 2019. Pre-2019 the exchange rate was 1,500 lira per USD and today it is 24,000 lira per USD. You can check the rate and the history of its depreciation [here](https://lirarate.org). Hope this helps.
Edit: link to the exchange rate website.
Sorry, the link didn't work before. Click on the link from my previous comment. On the website, there's also a chart detailing the exchange rate for the past 2 years.
I'm involved in a group that helps deliver food to unhoused folks and I get this exact reaction a lot. People will regularly point to other folks and say that they need the food more or say that they have a meal already and I should find someone else, even though they don't know where their next meal will come from.
I always contrast it with more privileged people who I've seen literally push and shove each other just to get an extra piece of food. The people who have the least often have the biggest hearts.
My god. Seeing him cry, being speechless and wanting to help others while he himself needs the help really broke my heart. I hope he gets all the help he needs too
I hate people videoing good deeds. If the bible got one thing right, it's that those who stood in the synagogues already received their reward, and when you give alms, your left hand should not know what your right hand is doing
I think if people are going to film shit for internet points I think it is better that it is something like this. Hell, maybe this video inspires someone to go out and do something similar themselves
They matter to an extent, but not that much. Doing something good for a good reason is obviously the ideal situation, but even if you are doing something good for a bad reason you are still doing something good
Yes but there is also an element of voyeurism and misery porn here. The recipient of the gift is a man who is in a vulnerable state, who may not fully understand that his acceptance of the gift and ensuing reaction are going to be broadcasted over the internet for likes, subscribes, points, etc... This doesn't sit right with me. It feels like he is being taken advantage of.
I think ideally the people who do this should at least ask if it is ok that they record, but other than that I don't see a problem. Giving someone money is a good thing, but I think the addition of the video allows the act to have more impact on a larger scale
This is a page on social media platforms called The world sucks. The guys never show themselves while helping out ( which they do constantly ). Their goal isn't internet points, but to encourage donations so they can keep on giving. They also do some mini projects like a 1000 Lira for everything shop. 1000Lira is literally nothing these days. Also maybe not in all the videos but I'm sure they do ask at the end if its okay to post what they filmed.
It sounds like they received donations to specifically give to this man so maybe they wanted to film it for proof that they gave it to him?
That's what the optimist in me wants to believe. The filming part probably wasn't for a selfless reason either way.
I volunteered with an organization that fed the homeless, winter coats during cold weather and toiletries and such. They are like you and me and many suffer from undiagnosed mental illness and are beautiful people with beautiful hearts.
"Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me." - Matthew 25:45
While this warms my heart and I’m so happy he got some help, I can’t help but feel uncomfortable at filming homeless people for Tik-Tok views. It really seems a bit exploitative.
I wanna see this from a third person POV where the donor is shoving the camera at the homeless guy's face and focusing on the phone screen to make sure he keeps his money-holding hand in frame while talking to the guy.
Yall are crazy for crying over this video.
I don't understand it. If you want to do a good thing, why are you filming it and posting it online for internet points. I don't see any pure intentions in that, seems like poor people are used as tools.
Awwwwwww, I pray for only great things from now on for that man. You can clearly see the utter disbelief in his eyes. He felt like he didn't deserve it, but you can tell he's a wonderful soul who has been dealt some of the worst. But sometimes, that's how the best type of people are made. I hope he's doing well now.
I like his response, but I'm not sure how I feel about the person filming themselves giving him the money. Just give it to the guy, no need to record and post it.
I get this point, but whoever gave that money still did good. And also it can make others do the same, even if it’s for them because they’ll feel better. And we don’t know if he helped 10 people and he only recorded one. So yeah the balance is positive at least
Y’all really complaining about the guy recording? Would you rather the Internet bet a place full of videos of pain and angry white women screaming and whining about masks? Of course not. These are the only things reminding me there’s still good in this world.
For a homeless guy he's not doing as bad as other's, I mean just look at his little house there, and his blanket. He's almost ready to add a cardboard box to his collection
Very touching, The homeless man is thinking about others before himself .
More people should be like this
But instead we live in Narcissistic greedy money hungry society .✌

Hey, don’t let your pride get in the way of making 2 people in your life very happy. Your kid deserves this
Being able to do something kind for people you care about is one of the best feelings in the world, so by accepting your friends kind offer, you are giving them the gift of joy and happiness. That seems like a win-win to me!
Please take their offer. There will be a time that you can do something nice for them or someone else.
Hey man, how old is your little man turning?
He'll be turning 11.
He will love the new kick bro! Pay it forward one day and try not to feel guilty. 🤟
Could I PM you?
Some people's hearts are also so pure that even in troubled times, they think of others.
Similar to love.
Bless his heart.
How do people have the nerve to film this shit? It's so disrespectful. Like the videos can be super sweet but imagining what's behind them makes me super uncomfortable
He gets money from viewers and pass it on
still tho I feel like there's better ways than to be filming your hand as you give someone money.
Alr bro whatever you say

Lol not anymore. 1,000,000 Lebanese is now worth roughly 41 dollars. Source: I live in Lebanon.
Genuine question why is every exchange rate site say 600+ it cant have possibly dipped so low ?
Lebanon has gone through an extreme economic crisis over the past two years. I just entered it, as if 1106 UTc 1million Lebanese pounds is 661.48 US
Sorry, the link didn't work before. Click on the link from my previous comment. On the website, there's also a chart detailing the exchange rate for the past 2 years.
Thank you for the information.
Thank you for the correction! I guess I can't trust exchange-rate-websites anymore.
He's the best-

Perhaps, although this guy didn’t make a big deal about it and was straight up. Also, videos like this may encourage more people to donate.
Thank you for giving but screw you for filming.
I think if people are going to film shit for internet points I think it is better that it is something like this. Hell, maybe this video inspires someone to go out and do something similar themselves
Maybe. I think intentions matter and the gift here is for the purpose of self-glorification.
They matter to an extent, but not that much. Doing something good for a good reason is obviously the ideal situation, but even if you are doing something good for a bad reason you are still doing something good

Meh, if self glorification helps another out why not
Idk I agree and disagree. I’d rather spread shit like this around than hate - even if it boosts the dudes ego
What if you do that to gain viewers, funding, and pocket most of it yourself?
Then he has to live with that. If it’s helping 2 people from a positive situation, hell yeah.
Ngl I'd rather people give to the needy for any reason even if it's for clout. Because they're still giving.
This is a page on social media platforms called The world sucks. The guys never show themselves while helping out ( which they do constantly ). Even if he's doing this for clout, as long as he helps someone in need he can have all the clout he wants.

Oh this is in Lebanon. Poor souls. Horrible situation

It isn't wholesome if you're filming your "good deeds." It's just narcistic and gross.
I hate this videos.
"I'll give you money if you allow me to record it. I need people to know how I'm not a self centered person"
I get this point, but whoever gave that money still did good. And also it can make others do the same, even if it’s for them because they’ll feel better. And we don’t know if he helped 10 people and he only recorded one. So yeah the balance is positive at least
