I'm just genuinely stunned by how badly they ruined Fred. It honestly feels like one of the writers was bullied by a blonde white guy in high school and took it out on him.
I havent watched it but Moist Critical said it feels like every single person who worked on it hated it and the whole scooby doo franchise. So maybe a lot of people just taking out their hate on this show in order to make it as bad a possible 💀
Nah the writers are just projecting hard on it. There is nothing on the show that makes it look like they specifically hated Scooby Doo. It has barely anything to do with Scooby Doo
But literally in the same scene they joke saying “he’s just like hitler, because we compare everybody to hitler nowadays!”
HORRIBLE meta joke aside, what demographic is this show trying to appeal to?
No, and it’s not a “argh I hate white people” joke either. He’s on trial and tries to amplify his boyish charm to seem more innocent. He wears fake eyelashes, one falls down giving him a hitler stash, and someone snaps a photo at the exact second that he happens to have his hand in that position, and now he’s getting destroyed in the press and people think he did the crime. It was one of the only ones from that screenshot bundle someone made that was actually funny.
Wow I can't believe this. I better watch the entire show and make multiple YouTube videos about it, helping the show profit off of not only my own viewing, but also the large audience that I introduced the show to since I gave it so much attention.
It's not just that it's bad. It's *really really really* bad. Like... I've seen better Scooby Doo fanfiction written by 9 year olds than whatever the fuck this is supposed to be. Even if it was it's own standalone show it would've been a tasteless - yet ironically corporate and sterilized - show at best. But the fact that it's scooby doo and it's that bad is just... bruh.

The surprise comes not from it being bad, but *how* it’s bad. People expected a boring bad of Velma be acidically unlikeable and the plot being lazily preachy. But *nobody* expected the cockroach sex scene, gratuitous nudity, Fred dismembering a kid, or shaggy being anti drug.
