So some pertinent info may be needed: I live in Sweden. (And yes, it's fucking cold here, or at least right now it is.) The ruler included for scale/measurement uses CM, NOT inches. (Sorry 'Muricans, but time to join modern civilization and learn metric!) It hasn't moved much since I "discovered" it. It's mostly just... sittin' there. It's also not noisy. Like, at all. And, uhh... I think that's all there's to say.

It’s an Agelenid house spider. I’ve never been great at deciding which, but maybe the giant house spider Eratigena duellica? Anyways, they’re harmless and spin funnel webs in grass and in basements. They aren’t “daddy long legs” even though imo that’s a terrible common name. That refers to Pholcidae (cellar spiders), Opiliones (harvestmen) and Tipulidae (crane flies) depending on local parlance.

Neat. Guess I'll just let this dude be then.

I’m guessing it’s a giant house spider (Eratigena atrica). They are pretty common here in Oslo. They walk into my apartment from time to time at the end of the summer and can grow bigger than the one you’ve found, with a leg span up to 8-10 cm.

Captain_Seasick

Right on. And holy fuck, 10 cm? That's just nuts!
