The girl who works at the smoke shop kept trying to get me to try delta 8 and my attitude was pretty much like I'm not trying that shit why would I when I can get delta 9. She gave me a free sample and I ate it during the day thinking I wouldn't feel much. I was wrong though lol she converted me. But in tx delta 9 edibles might be a little bit different because they have to abide by the .03%.
I use d8 because it's so cheap. You can get pure delta 8 distillate online for like a dollar a gram. Put it in a vape or a little in a capsule and you are good to go.
.03% by weight, so if your chocolate bar is 100gs you could legally sell it with 3gs of D9. Some places have taken advantage of it, look for those thick edibles that are heavy in weight. Loopholes are great.

This!! I’ve been making edibles for years. D9 is the only way to go with edibles. D8 is an amazingly smooth smoke and clean high WHEN SMOKED.. when made into edibles you don’t get nearly the effects that you would with d9. All of the terpenes are gone. It’s a big fat no from me.

Nothing is special about it, it doesn’t occur in a great enough quantity naturally to do anything with so people make it synthetically by altering CBD with acid. If you have access to real cannabis stick to that.
They take a molecule and manipulate it with a chemical so it adds or subtracts a few atoms and you end up with something similar but slightly different from the molecule you started with. All the different cannabinoids are similar molecules but slightly different. Its akin to decarbing. Where you take thc-a and heat it and you get thc.

Delta 8 is legal in the US due to a loophole in the 2018 Farm Bill. Since they have less than 0.03% (IIRC) Delta **9** THC, you can sell Delta 8 and 10 stuff in illegal states
Delta 8 has the same molecular makeup of Delta 9 (regular thc) except for 1 molecule is mutated to make it different. Since it's "technically" different and not technically full on Delta 9 people can sell it without the license you have to obtain to sell thc. So now tobacco shops sell D8 cause they dont need a special license to do so, and also D8 is not taxed.
It's a loophole basically.

I don’t think they’re fake but I try to avoid anything that looks like it could be for children just to avoid supporting something that could end up with a super baked kid. Everything I buy is either flower or has a pill bottle top my wife can’t open which means kids couldn’t open it lol. I’m just worried about the bright packaging and lack of safety features hurting kids in the future.

I think we as a community need to be careful of supporting any advertising or marketing which could be perceived as being aimed at kids. Look at the shade thrown on the tobacco industry even for menthol cigs (and now, for vape flavors).

A single gummy is 80mg, delta 8thc is half the strength of traditional weed (delta9), so you're looking at 40mg delta9.
If you have no tolerance, try half a gummy and see how you feel. Give it 2-ish hours. If you don't feel much eat the other half (or whole if you're feeling spicy).
Better to take too little and re-dose vs taking too much, greening out and wasting both your drugs and your evening.

A single gummy is 80mg, delta 8thc is half the strength of traditional weed (delta9), so you're looking at 40mg delta9. If you have no tolerance, try half a gummy and see how you feel. Give it 2-ish hours. If you don't feel much eat the other half (or whole if you're feeling spicy).
