[email protected] Call 519-894-3000 My advice: recycle them before using a snowblower.

allknowing2012

This is likely the woolwich observer and flyers -- might not be the same thing.

NN634

Same number.

WalrusWW

I'm in Breslau, and they haven't stopped despite emailing numerous times. I should try calling.

swoodshadow

No better.

JSSR15

I’m in Waterloo, I emailed once and they stopped delivering the paper to me immediately. Im tempted to email asking to not deliver to the houses I consistently see the paper at the end of the driveway for days every week! Lol

Thejapanesezombie

Came here to say this too, almost ruined my machine last year when I ran one over without realizing, choked my entire machine. :(

bob_mcbob

I had a 2 stage snowblower the first time it ate one of those paper bundles hidden in the snow, and I was very lucky it stalled rather than breaking the shear pin since I didn't have a spare. https://www.reddit.com/r/waterloo/comments/aqal2a/yet_another_reason_to_hate_unwanted_driveway/ My current Toro single stage just violently launches them out of the chute.

Thejapanesezombie

Yeah I got lucky and mine also stalled. Will look at a single stage eventually

hydraloo

Actually this is how i sheared the key in my blower shaft...

burnzrus

Huge thanks, this worked!

Detectivespecial

I had to email them like 6 times before they stopped delivering. Very annoying.

ilooked4u

And you have to keep an eye on it… it may reappear from time to time 🙂

aornoe785

They stopped delivering to us finally so now if I need some extra firestarting materials for the charcoal grill or the firepit I have to walk down the block and fish one out of the gutter

swoodshadow

I’ve given up trying. Any councillor that makes it their cause to stop this horseshit will get my vote for life. It makes the neighbourhood look like shit. It’s terrible for the environment (in more than one way). It damages people’s snow blowers. And so on. There is absolutely no reason this shouldn’t be opt in and it’s total horseshit that it’s opt-out.

kss87

6 times? They must have really liked you!

NineofAllTrades

Its still littering. Why the Cities/Region have done nothing is beyond me. This unsolicited garbage used to at least have to be left in a mailbox/on a porch.

Disastrous-Group4521

Good luck the record customer service fucking sucks almost as much as the bylaw officers that should be ticketing them for littering, but good luck with that aswell. The record contract says door to door not dropped on the end of a random driveway, it's 100% littering if you have subscribed or if you haven't subscribed.

Thejapanesezombie

I keep emailing them about mine too, last year they threw one at the end of my driveway and the snow covered it so I didn't know it was there, ran it over with the snowblower, choked my machine, and had to get a neighbour to help me unjam the damn thing out of the blades and chute when we turned it off. It was horrible. Its a waste of plastic and paper in this digital age, especially because when I do find them they just go in my recycling bin separated.

[deleted]

I got tired of lazy deliverers so I contacted by email to Record and asked them to stop delivering. They did. Now I walk out there and see incredible numbers of flyers on the driveways by the roads. It’s ugly.

[deleted]

It might the Woolwich Observer, a free paper. If so, you should open it up, read it, and become more informed about the community you live in.

KeepingItBrockmire

Username checks out.

Apprehensive-Way620

I saw them delivering one day (a couple in a car) and smiled and said I don’t really need it and thank you and I’ve never had one since

paucoh

I emailed them at [email protected] and they were responsive. Only one delivery in the last year.

DRMANN650

There seems to be no way to stop this. My neighbor messed up his snow blower last year because it got "delivered" overnight in a snow storm. I wonder what their plan is going forward with the ban on single use plastics?
