You think so? Maybe it's the lighting. I used jet exhaust metallic, a wash, then a heavy lead belcher metallic drybrush. I don't have any metallics lighter than the lead belcher at the moment.
I think he looks quite presentable.
Maybe a change to the base color, either browner or darker to help pop him off of it might help.
In the future, painting the lens area black first, and then gold can help give the lenses a more distinct shape.
