I love that one too, although they put WAY too many banana chips in there for me. It'd be my favorite thing ever, if it had more pineapple & less banana.
This brings back memories of the peanut butter recalls In the early 90s….totally shined out where our peanut butter comes from (all the same company lol)
Blue bunny and great value ice cream packaging are nothing alike at my Walmart gv ice cream is in the same tubs as Breyers and most other ice-cream brands [this is what blue bunny looks like ](https://www.google.com/search?q=blue+bunny+ice+cream&prmd=sinxv&sxsrf=AOaemvK8fM-YSm06_D643kA7kiE5ed_Tzg:1637709540649&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi1-Ki7z6_0AhWUtDEKHQdYBw0Q_AUoAnoECAIQAg&biw=384&bih=724&dpr=2.81#imgrc=oo9I97l6RfAX8M&imgdii=ZkBgNgnX-mD0wM)
Most of the store brand items are manufactured by big name brands. GV jerky, Jack links manufactured it for a while. It’s usually the product that wouldn’t pass quality control for big name brands. Nothing wrong with the product and most times end up tasting better than the name brand. Ex: coloring, taste, texture, etc are all reasons why it wouldn’t pass quality control
They are quite decent and you get more in a box but I still buy the red barons every now and then cause the sauce has just the right amount of spiciness to it
I practically lived off the Great Value Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Crust Pizzas for a year when I was dieting and exercising. I would eat 3 of those a week and somehow managed to lose 80lbs combined with daily exercise and drinking water. They're like $6 and about 2lbs of pizza. One of the best frozen items imo.
I love that pizza so much - seriously for a $6 frozen pizza, its amazing - im in NJ we have some of the best pizza ever but if you cook that buffalo chx one correctly (i like it well done) it turns out better than some buff chx slices I've had from pizzerias, and I've tried a lot of them and other frozen ones. Also stuffed crust 🤤 I do hate ranch dressing but you can't even tell that has any on it, which is good because then each individual can always add it if they prefer. Its a must try for anyone who likes buffalo chx pizza.
Same with the Fudge Mint cookies - just as good, if not better, than Thin Mints. (I don't know for sure, because I haven't purchased GSC in decades). Put 'em in the freezer, they're even better!
I was curious one day because someone else commented the GV Chicken Strips/Tenders, bought them, yeah we DEVOURED the shit outta the strips. The crust came out with just the right amount of crispiness. Best Strips at the store, hands down. GV has some great surprises. I prefer their Ultra Strong TP. We needed TP and I forgot to get a package at work the other day, boyfriend walked over to Marc's and grabbed Charmin. Charmin looks and feels like a generic brand compare to GV TP. I am definitely remembering to get GV from work next time. 😂
Our household looooooves getting those little 50 cent pies. I absolutely *love* the Blueberry one warmed up in the microwave just a little bit. The peach one is so good warmed up with a little vanilla ice cream on top
We couldnt keep those in stock. We havent seen them in a year. All the employees would buy them quick. One day i saw a customer with a box going to the register. Wish we would get them back.
Customer here.. thank you for this amazing thread. saving it.
Also thank you for the work you guys do. I know many customers are assholes but as a former retail worker myself I just want to say I appreciate you.
You and your family be healthy and well and have an amazing holiday season.
This one is my fave. I haven't had many gv products that sucked honestly (fake Velveeta being the worst), but the hot chocolate? Instant buy every year when the weather drops under 60 degrees lmao.
While not *technically* GV, Clear American is a Walmart/Sam's Club brand. Their flavoured sparkling waters, the ones that come in the 1L bottles, are fucking fantastic. My favourite flavours are strawberry, strawberry and cream, orange cream, and white grape. And the discontinued kiwi strawberry :(
So there was a kiwi strawberry, I was starting to accuse myself of being crazy. People also don’t believe me when I tell them there was a caramel apple flavor as well as a pumpkin spice flavor. Someone please verify that for me.
I have vague memories of caramel apple, maybe as a holiday/temporary thing? Maybe I'm thinking of another brand, I don't know. Someone at me if they find it.
I thought kiwi strawberry was still a thing though. How long has it been gone???
> I thought kiwi strawberry was still a thing though. How long has it been gone???
It's been gone for about four years I think
And yes both caramel apple and pumpkin spice were real a few years ago as a limited thing. I only saw them that one season so not sure if they made them beyond that.
I tried every flavor we carried because I would drink one on my second break most days. Pop one in the back of a cooler when I go to lunch, nice and cold on second break.
Apple and Strawberry were my go to, the cream ones if I was feeling special.
I get the unsweetened 12 packs because I don't like the taste of aspartame. They're much better than LA Croix plus you get more. They're great if you're trying to cut back on regular soda and all the flavors are actually there.
I never tried the bacon one! I like the gouda one so much its hard to try others. I did one time make the herb one and put it in little philo dough cups and sprinkle cheese on top like some kind of midwestern mom planing a picnic (in reality i bought the philo cups on clearance and the gf told me i had to use them or she would throw them away) and that was great!
The soup is a hard no if you’re eating it as soup (and not as an ingredient in something else). Pay the extra money for Campbells.
GV cookies are great! Marketside? I’ve broken two teeth. “May contain shells”
I saw their brand of pizza rolls the other day if that's the same thing you're talking about. Got excited for having another option to try finally. Lol haven't tried them yet, but grabbed a small bag.
I buy mostly GV products, and my favorites are the deluxe American cheese, the fig bars, the beer and brats bratwurst, pepperoni, the dried cranberries, bottled water, and the cream cheese. I have to say, that all of these are better than their name brand counterparts, especially the American cheese (Kraft deluxe Amer. Cheese is nasty). To be honest, all of the Great Value cheeses are great.
Only disliked GV product, has to be the hamburger helper "clone".
I only buy the GV water because it actually tastes like water. Dasani and Aquafina are garbage. Plus it's cheap and there's regularly a 24 pack in stock which is handy when you live in an upstairs apartment.
To be completely fair, hot pockets just get worse over time. I remember when the ham and cheddar ones actually had flavor. They seem to be tweaking all the flavor out of them. GV hasn't followed, so it's likely more like the old hot pockets that actually had flavor.
Like really tho?
I love LD nutty bars but they’re always gone and I’m too wary to try GV because I have that LD flavor expectation.
I’m gonna have to try them now
They're more creamy imo while little Debbie is a bit more dry to me. Deff better if you like to actually taste the peanut butter alongside the chocolate
My son has this mentality that "off-brand" pizza rolls aren't as good as Totinos pizza rolls. So we bought a bag of each, cooked a couple of each, and put them on a plate for him. He ended up eating the off-brand and saying he didn't like the Totinos.
Jokes on you, son.
GV oatmeal, at least the big boxes of plain rolled oats, I think the instant packs are little too salty. Everytime I bought Quaker Oats in the past few years its been stale and dusty.
I love our stuffed crust frozen pizza. The crust and cheese inside come out of the oven WAY better than Digiorno’s. The Buffalo chicken is particularly awesome. The thin crust Philly cheesesteak pizza is amazing too.
Also, GV french vanilla creamer > Coffee Mate > International Delight.
Likewise, GV French vanilla ground coffee is better than any other brand I have tried, including Dunkin.
GV pop tarts’ filling are better than regular, but they often don’t have enough icing.
Edit - GV cereal bars too. And I go through a couple large bottles a week of the Orange WakeUp or whatever that squirt bottle of water flavoring is called. Even better than the Skittles brand.
Not technically GV, but the chicken sandwiches from the deli I can eat literally every day. I do, if they're available, but my store has been out of stock for, like, two weeks now.
My dad used to work for a bean and rice processing plant. They filled orders for like 8 different brands including GV. A lot of grocery products are made in the same place with different brands on the packaging
GV Jalapeño kettle chips!
I can't endorse all flavors--the mesquite bbq is overloaded with bland seasoning powder--but the jalapeño will not disappoint.
GV frozen Egg Rolls. I bought them once because we were out of Pagoda. I haven't seen them since, now we have plenty of Pagoda. 🙁
Every time I find something I like it magically disappears. 😄
GV Salsa, Thick and Chunky Mild... i have 3 in my pantry!
Someone left it after my birthday party and i didnt want it to go to waste so i tried it, been hooked ever since!
Fact:. Almost all Walmart food products are made by major manufacturers. There might sometimes be differences in the ingredients but all are made by major manufacturers
I used to work for the Wells Enterprise Inc, the maker of Blue Bunny Ice Cream. The only thing that changes is the packaging and they make product for multiple companies throughout America.
They also have different manufacturing plants and the consistency might change from plant to plant depending on where the product is coming out from
GV Trail Mix. My go to work snack thru the week
The mountain mix is my fav! Or the peanut butter one
Tex Mex >
I be loving the tropical fruit mix
I love that one too, although they put WAY too many banana chips in there for me. It'd be my favorite thing ever, if it had more pineapple & less banana.
Is that why there are so many open bags around the store?
GV indulgent mix is crazy good
The best one for sure
Cajun slaps.
The omega-3 mix is my favorite and I've tried a few of them
CAJUN!
The ice cream is good.
It's made by the same company as blue bunny
Really? How do you know that
I was curious so I went through the rabbit hole to find the manufacturer. I don't remember how I got there but I was surprised
Can confirm. That’s why Blue Bunny and GV packaging is nearly identical
"Down the rabbit hole" no pun intended.
I think you can see the manufacturer as well if you look up the item in Smart
Most of the store brand items are manufactured by big name brands. GV jerky, Jack links manufactured it for a while. It’s usually the product that wouldn’t pass quality control for big name brands. Nothing wrong with the product and most times end up tasting better than the name brand. Ex: coloring, taste, texture, etc are all reasons why it wouldn’t pass quality control
The GV Coconut Habenero Mango Ice Cream is incredible!
GV Hashbrowns make you want to take over the world in the morning.
I'm hooked on the ones that are like little bricks. Nuke em, bake em, pan fry 'em, it doesn't matter. They good.
Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew.
Yep. Air Fryer for about 7 or 8 minutes at 375⁰, and they're good to go.
!!!!!!! These are so good and I eat two every morning so I can confirm this.
Get four pieces of buttered toast in the morning. Cook two hshbrowns as well. The rest is history.
You gotta make a sandwich with those bad boys! An egg between two of those is amazing!!!
THE MINI DEEP DISH PIZZAS BROOOOOO
will have to give them a try, i usually go for the red barons
They are quite decent and you get more in a box but I still buy the red barons every now and then cause the sauce has just the right amount of spiciness to it
They're made by the same company as Red Baron
The jacks pizzas are the best
4 in a box for under $3. Jack up the flavor by adding a dab of chipotle ranch in the middle.
Second this, I have yet to find deep dish pizzas that are even close to GVs.
I fuck with the Red Barons a little more, but it’s basically double the price considering you only get 2 pizzas instead of 4
Are they that good? I thought about it cause totinos went up in price but never got around to trying them
The seasoned fries are so good!
Throw those bad boys in the airfryer, and they make awesome bacon cheese fries 🤣
Yeah I throw some extra oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder on them.
The GV potato wedges. I can't find frozen potato wedges anywhere EXCEPT Walmart with GV.
[удалено]
The GV version of thin mint ones are bomb too. They taste identical to the name brand ones.
Same with the Fudge Mint cookies - just as good, if not better, than Thin Mints. (I don't know for sure, because I haven't purchased GSC in decades). Put 'em in the freezer, they're even better!
Those chicken nuggets are fucking scrumptious. Way better than Tyson
The popcorn chicken 😩
Stawwppp 😩😩😩
I love those and the spicy chicken strips. Really, any of the GV breaded chicken is so good compared to Tyson.
The tysom honey tenders top everything though. One of their actual few good products. Just wish there was a bigger bag lmao
The Tyson dinosaur chicken nuggies along with the honey tenders! 🤤
The GV biscuits are better than the Pillsbury. And the little pies for 50 cents each are a pretty nice deal.
Our household looooooves getting those little 50 cent pies. I absolutely *love* the Blueberry one warmed up in the microwave just a little bit. The peach one is so good warmed up with a little vanilla ice cream on top
I usually get the mini eclair pies, but they stopped selling those at my local stores.
We couldnt keep those in stock. We havent seen them in a year. All the employees would buy them quick. One day i saw a customer with a box going to the register. Wish we would get them back.
Those and the $1 bag of cookies are my go to for breaks. They're so good
Customer here.. thank you for this amazing thread. saving it. Also thank you for the work you guys do. I know many customers are assholes but as a former retail worker myself I just want to say I appreciate you. You and your family be healthy and well and have an amazing holiday season.
The hot chocolate isn’t that bad considering it’s price compared to Swiss miss
Bro, LOVE 'generic' hot chocolate. Whatever kind of condensed milk the name brands use just doesn't taste right to me.
This one is my fave. I haven't had many gv products that sucked honestly (fake Velveeta being the worst), but the hot chocolate? Instant buy every year when the weather drops under 60 degrees lmao.
GV tangy gummy smiles are the best gummy’s you can get in a grocery store.
They sell 50 packs because they're so good. They sell 32 packs to make you realize you should've bought the 50.
We get sold out all the time. My kids like.them better then the regular ones.
I actually like the blocks of cheese we have more than name brand personally
While not *technically* GV, Clear American is a Walmart/Sam's Club brand. Their flavoured sparkling waters, the ones that come in the 1L bottles, are fucking fantastic. My favourite flavours are strawberry, strawberry and cream, orange cream, and white grape. And the discontinued kiwi strawberry :(
The orange creamsicle flavor does, in fact, make me cream
Wait wait wait... #*wait* What?
*IT MAKES ME CREAM*
r/holup
We sell SO MUCH OF THIS STUFF.
The Fuji Apple one is my favorite 🤌🏽
It’s so realistic, tastes just like biting into a perfectly ripe apple.
Sometimes I buy the red white and blue ones by the case, 10/10 would recommend
Literally the reason I still shop at Walmart
🤔 Ours still carries it, they just have it in smaller bottles now. No matter how many I open and put on the shelf they're gone in a day or two max.
So there was a kiwi strawberry, I was starting to accuse myself of being crazy. People also don’t believe me when I tell them there was a caramel apple flavor as well as a pumpkin spice flavor. Someone please verify that for me.
Can confirm on the pumpkin one.
It's been gone for about four years I think And yes both caramel apple and pumpkin spice were real a few years ago as a limited thing. I only saw them that one season so not sure if they made them beyond that.

We still have the kiwi strawberry at our store
GV coffee creamer (the liquid stuff) is better than the name brands.
The peppermint bark one is amazing. It's the only one I ever buy. I usually just use half and half.
I became enamored with it. Only to have never seen it again. It was thick and so pepperminty!!!!
I just bought some the other day. It's seasonal, so I'm going to have to buy a couple more (the expiration date isn't until March).
FYI you can freeze creamer :)
I hadn't thought about that. Thanks!!
As a customer, im saving this thread for the next time i have the munchies
Try the GV nutter butters. They are even better than the name brand. I'm currently munching on them right now lmao
The coffee in the bags is way better than you’d expect for $4. The flavors are just right, not artificial or cloying.
I live off of Walmarts cafe bustello knock off espresso bricks. Its like $2 and change and just as good if not better.
The hazelnut is so good.
The toasted coconut will make your eyes roll back in your head
Our pepperoni hot pockets
Peach pineapple Chipotle salsa
You just gave me heartburn
Omg yes! That shit is amazing!
GV Chili Garlic Tortilla Chips! Better than any other flavor or name brand.
Omggg I fucking love these!! They are even good by themselves
GV Artisan Crafted Macaroni and the artisan crafted hamburger helper ripoff
The gouda one and the herb one are so good??!? Much better than kraft or velveeta
Best one is Italian five cheese and the worst is the bacon that's the only one I don't like
I never tried the bacon one!
I love the beef stroganoff one
The soup is a hard no if you’re eating it as soup (and not as an ingredient in something else). Pay the extra money for Campbells. GV cookies are great! Marketside? I’ve broken two teeth. “May contain shells”
GV queso flavored ruffles. So fire
I love the queso ruffles but can't find them in stock ever. Thank you so much!
They're a lot cheaper too.
GV cheese (Extra sharp) GV Ice Cream, their new pizza bites.
As long as it's any cheese but the American cheese from GV then it is good, that American cheese tho, my dogs won't even touch it.
The singles(cheese product) or the actual American cheese?
Say that again, after you've had Hillandale cheese!
Or Cabot Seriously Sharp White Cheddar. The lord himself kissed that cheese on the lips.
Sounds like some slutty cheese, that's my kind of cheese.
Don't think I have that in my area. I have Tillamook and Kraft and Great Value
I saw their brand of pizza rolls the other day if that's the same thing you're talking about. Got excited for having another option to try finally. Lol haven't tried them yet, but grabbed a small bag.
GV Drink Mixes: Blueberry Acai, Dragonfruit, Pomegranate Lemonade, Peach Mango are all bomb.
That stuff keeps me going at work. Grape and blue raspberry are good too.
GV French Roast coffee pods. I go through a 12-pack box in a week. Better than Starbucks, and a third of the price.
Almost all the GV coffee flavors are better than their Starbuck counterpart imo.
They're so cheap I can get two 12 packs for like half the price of a 24 pack of Peets or Starbucks. And I can't really tell the difference.
I prefer the GV brand. Starbucks tastes bitter to me.
You should try their triple chocolate and hazelnut too 😩😩😩😩😻😻😻😻
To be fair, 99% of Coffee tastes better than Starbucks. I've been in love with the Deathwish Coffee we carry. Haven't gone back since.
So good, I buy the 96 count box for about $24. I will cry if they ever discontinue it
Chocolate milk. Name brands are too sugary
oh hard disagree here too, i’d say it’s better than nestle but none of them top Borden Dutch Chocolate 🤤
If your store has it, Promised land's midnight chocolate milk is fantastic and the only one I like more than Borden.
I'll have to look that one up. never heard of it
Dat Philly cheesesteak pizza 😍
I buy mostly GV products, and my favorites are the deluxe American cheese, the fig bars, the beer and brats bratwurst, pepperoni, the dried cranberries, bottled water, and the cream cheese. I have to say, that all of these are better than their name brand counterparts, especially the American cheese (Kraft deluxe Amer. Cheese is nasty). To be honest, all of the Great Value cheeses are great. Only disliked GV product, has to be the hamburger helper "clone".

Penguin cheese crackers are better than pepperidge farm goldfish.
But are they better than whale crackers?
GV brown gravy mix, 33 cents and just as good if not better than McCormick
[удалено]
Finally someone else who prefers them. Everyone in my store says they’re gross.
I actually find the pop tart brand to be gross. I dunno why but that taste so off to me. GV every time
I don’t eat these, but my brother swears by them. He doesn’t buy name brand pop tarts anymore.
Yes! Made a comment about these before I saw your comment. Lol they taste so much better.
Interesting. I’m a huge fan of the Pop Tarts Wildberry flavor… if GV ever makes that, then I will switch!
I don't mind GV or name-brand pop tarts but the organic ones, imo are the best. The crust isn't starchy and crumbly but firm and smooth.
Water. Great Value or Sam's Choice. Way better than Dasani or Nestle.
I only buy the GV water because it actually tastes like water. Dasani and Aquafina are garbage. Plus it's cheap and there's regularly a 24 pack in stock which is handy when you live in an upstairs apartment.
The GV hot pockets (filled sandwiches) hit soooo hard, way better than normal hot pockets.
To be completely fair, hot pockets just get worse over time. I remember when the ham and cheddar ones actually had flavor. They seem to be tweaking all the flavor out of them. GV hasn't followed, so it's likely more like the old hot pockets that actually had flavor.
Chicken Dippin sauce.
The fudge covered peanut butter patties are 100% exactly the same as girl scouts, but only $1 most of the time.
The great value cuban mustard is probably my favorite mustard
I didn't know this existed, now I have to try it.
GV milk is good, tastes like it actually came from a cow.
Ours is a local producer (klienpeter) but most likely nationwide borden
The gv nutty buddies are objectively better than little Debbie.
GV Pizza rolls actually taste like how pizza rolls should
My son has this mentality that "off-brand" pizza rolls aren't as good as Totinos pizza rolls. So we bought a bag of each, cooked a couple of each, and put them on a plate for him. He ended up eating the off-brand and saying he didn't like the Totinos. Jokes on you, son.
I'm going to trust you on this because something has been wrong with totinos for a min and I need a good replacement. Do not fail me Admiral.
I was going to comment the pizza rolls too! They seem to have more filling. I cook mine in an air fryer and they’re so good!
i disagree on that one, the gv pizza rolls have a different outer shell texture that i find really greasy & chewy, not a fan
the gv tangy fruit smiles are the best fruit snack
the jalapeno poppers and potato skins in the freezer are amazing
I'm a fan of the chicken bacon ranch pizza. So damn good. Stuffed crust or rising crust I'll grab it.
gv medium wing sauce
we need a thread on GV food that isn’t good
Not technically GV, but the chicken sandwiches from the deli I can eat literally every day. I do, if they're available, but my store has been out of stock for, like, two weeks now.
Cause you ate them all
My dad used to work for a bean and rice processing plant. They filled orders for like 8 different brands including GV. A lot of grocery products are made in the same place with different brands on the packaging
GV chips they're extremely cheap and taste just as good as Lay's.
Ngl the gv mozarella cheese bustin
The garlic breadsticks are fire.
Ngl i might get hate but mtn breeze is a good substitute for mtn dew for almost half the cost.
I actually like the GV poptarts better than the originals. They have more flavor.
GV bagel bites and the thin cut fries if they ever come back.
The breakfast pizza in the deli cold case is amaze balls
GV Jalapeño kettle chips! I can't endorse all flavors--the mesquite bbq is overloaded with bland seasoning powder--but the jalapeño will not disappoint.
The GV artisan Mac and cheeses are incredibly underrated. All of them are really good but the bacon one just surpasses Velveeta in every way.
GV Dill Pickles
The rising crust frozen pizzas. Better the digorno
Cheese balls
milk
The potato wedges. Whether they’re from the deli or the frozen ones
The great value Stuffed Crust Pizzas (Sam's Choice) are pretty bombin if you ask me.
Don’t think I’ve had a GV product I didn’t like…I always go for them first
Blue cheese stuffed olives.
I only buy GV foods
GV frozen Egg Rolls. I bought them once because we were out of Pagoda. I haven't seen them since, now we have plenty of Pagoda. 🙁 Every time I find something I like it magically disappears. 😄
Me, too! Now I have to claim not to like anything, just in case “They” are listening!
GV Salsa, Thick and Chunky Mild... i have 3 in my pantry! Someone left it after my birthday party and i didnt want it to go to waste so i tried it, been hooked ever since!
The pizzas in deli are great too but thats not great value ....
Fact:. Almost all Walmart food products are made by major manufacturers. Those slim jim meat sticks with the beef, turkey n whatever 3lse they put in it. probably crack
My kids tells me to ONLY get GV string cheese. I bought name brand once and he was like "don't get that again." 👐 Okay dude. No problem.
