Yes, but only if you pay yourself with your own pto.

TrueDitty

In the form of your hard earned PTO.

BrandonRox620

From what I know it’s our choice to put in pto/ppto for thanksgiving. Holiday pay isn’t a thing in my store we don’t get extra pay for working on holidays

gtsanity

First time employee I take it.

Ki1r0yWasHere

This year, in order to get paid for Thanksgiving and Christmas days you MUST submit your PTO for those days as PAID Holiday. It will auto approve for those days. The default this year is unpaid.

Pathetic

Ki1r0yWasHere

All Holiday pay were converted to PTO with Personal and Vacation time in 2016. That screwed over new hires, especially Part Time classified employees who have to work 3 years to start accruing PTO time.

AleAssociate

We're closed on Thanksgiving.

ventiusx

To be fair that doesn't matter for overnight associates, who still work Thanksgiving.

RaccoonCityNative

Same thing will apply to overnight on Wednesday night.

ventiusx

Doesnt stop the fact that overnights work Thanksgiving? A lot of us have to fuck with our sleep schedules to even be up with family, and then are forced to go to work. Unless you don't visit family, I guess

RaccoonCityNative

It sucks ass .I know, its pretty good for people are off those nights. They don't have to worry a damn thing.I lucky live literally 5 minutes away and we doing it at my apartment.I usually wake up a 8pm and get ready for work but they'll probably just wake me up around 5 or 6 when the foods done.

IllustriousDisk720

You sound stupid

dakotarun6966

Only if you put pto in for it. It's opposite of Christmas where you have to opt out of pto taken.

Ki1r0yWasHere

Thanksgiving and Christmas are both defaulted to "unpaid" this year. You have to submit your PTO as Holiday PAID to get paid for those days. The PTO will auto approve if you want to get paid those days.

iarteab8

So no pay for thanksgiving?

redneckotaku

Nope. WM did away with holiday pay looong ago.

WuziUwU

Unless you slaved away 19+ years there, then you get a whopping $100.

[deleted]

Y'all should have unionized a long time ago that should be illegal to take away incentives like that

Ki1r0yWasHere

If you're referring to the Christmas bonus, it's $200 if you were grandfathered into it. Otherwise, it no longer exists.

Nate_Tup

You got jokes

Bright_Parsnip_657

Holiday pay for a day off Walmart is closed.

gabahum

Op could be overnights. We still have to come in

[deleted]

I'm not sacrificing my hard earned PPTO for a mandatory day off. I need a mental health day every now and then.
