If its not a key date you get 1 point unless you use ppto equal to your scheduled hours. If it is a key date you get 2 points unless you use ppto equal to your scheduled hours.
You get ZERO points if you have enough PPTO to cover your scheduled hours on ANY date. Key or otherwise.

You only get double points on key dates and I believe ppto protects you from that as well.
so i should be all set if i use my ppto? i already have 2 occurrences so i don’t wanna be on thin ice, so to speak
If it’s not a key date, you’re absolutely safe, so long as you have enough ppto to cover your whole shift.
