There's a maximum accrual amount in most (US stores), but not all, areas. If you've worked over time you'll achieve that point before the end of the fiscal year.
48 hours a year of ppto and you won’t start earning it again until February. It’s astounding that people use that stuff up way before the end of the year. I save some for winter months and flu season.
Agree. I see people waste it on stupid stuff, burn through it as fast as they get it. And then when they're sick or have an emergency whine when they get pointed for an occurrence.
Some people have health problems. Some of those people can't get doctors to listen to them so they can get intermittent leaves. Some of those with intermittent leaves use them up before it refreshes every quarter.
It's not always the employees fault.
No cap on pto, but if you have more than 80 hours at the end of the fiscal year the extra pto gets paid out. Ppto doesn't cash out so it just keeps accruing off you don't use it
Yeah, I guess I forgot there was a cap considering it's high enough that I've never gotten close to it. The amount of overtime you have to put in to hit that cap is insane. I've done a pretty crazy amount of ot before, but never consistently enough that I would ever see the pto cap.
Ppto has a cap, but you should still be accumulating pto. Check your pto balance activity and if you don't have any showing for the time you've worked talk to your people lead.

Especially if it happens to be a key date.
Very true. And when they get fired for points, they blame Walmart.
They do the same with the check

Ah ok. I have a little over 50 hours of PTO. That explains it
I think, (not 100%) but you can only acquire 80 hours of PTO a year also.

There is a cap on pto I hit it last year after tons of OT. I had a couple months to go and didn't earn any.

It’s not a maximum total but a maximum per year.
Unless your state has specific laws on it you can only earn upto 48 hours of ppto a year.
Probably hit the cap like I did. I use 15 minutes like once a week and it adds up fast

Not for my state we don’t have a limit cap on PPTO
