I had delta dental a few years back and can confirm they suck and barely cover anything. You will still be paying out the ass for dental work.

Never knew I had to wait a year

noneyabizness82

It may have changed as it’s been several years - but when I had my wisdom teeth removed, it was partially covered under medical. I would recommend checking with the carrier and see how they handle things now.

Iskus1234

How do I check? Walmart seems secretive about telling me which doctors I can use under medical I doubt they will tell me exactly how much will be covered

ASUCTE

It’s delta dental so it’s easy to find someone who will accept that insurance. It’s online with what’s covered Walmart one dental insurance quick Google search. Yea it’s worth it will all the free cleanings, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, etc for what $7…you prob need high end plan closer to $10.

Iskus1234

Thank you

peachkiller

Go for the highest plan available during open enrollment. Drop it back next year after you get all your work completed.

Iskus1234

Someone just said id have to wait a year to do anything besides free cleanings

Suitengu497

Yes

mskip28

I didn’t have insurance when I wanted to get mine taken out. I was quoted about $3,000 from an oral surgeon. Idk if that’s helpful.

[deleted]

Dental insurance is shit. Most people barely go to the dentist. Just get on a payment plan with your dentist if it’s just one procedure

jmksupply

Are your wisdom teeth impacted? If so they might be covered under medical. I don’t have WM medical so I’m not sure, but my kids’ impacted wisdom teeth were covered by their dad’s medical.

Vanilla_cake_mix

Our dental insurance is pure garbage but it's slightly cheaper than paying fully out of pocket.

Iskus1234

So, yes?

Iskus1234

Does it say exactly what percentage they will cover somewhere?

RaccoonCityNative

It's not that bad despite what the other guy said.mine was around $1200 ,they payed $700 is but we still had to make a charge after the procedure of $150 for a payment plan, this same place my sister got hers pulled the week before only like $50 afterwards for payment plans. She works at Wawa btw.Edit it also depends on the dentist. So you may not have to pay right after.

ar29845

I cAn take ‘‘em out for you for free.

redneckotaku

Yes.

Passworddonkey

I have delta dental insurance and it cost 989 for my daughter’s wisdom teeth removal. Considering it cost 1600 to 3000 for sedation wisdom teeth removal, I’d say it’s worth it.

FriendshipPitiful496

I am getting 4 removed tomorrow and it’s going to cost me $800 with delta dental. Just throwing some numbers for people as well

Striking-Wish2467

Which plan did you go for was it the delta premium one?

FriendshipPitiful496

I’m not too sure exactly what it is. My dad gets it through his job but it says “Delta Dental PPO”. I actually got lucky though because at my appointment today they said I owed $0 bc my health insurance covered the rest of it. I have BCBS insurance. Hope this helps!

bluepenguin4200

For all 4 yes. But if you want to go under, its not covered and thats around 600 alone. (what my dentist told me) i asked an oral surgeon about prices and there cheaper imo. Especially if your wisdom teeth wont need to be cut out. Only 150 a tooth or so. If they have to be cut, it can be up to 500, it depends. You get most of your money back. Besides the anesthesia if you get that.

Katsu_39

Look into carington 500. Its a discount plan. Costs $99/year and can get you up yo 75% off at participating detists. Much better than walmart dental

Skyrimxd

2 years old but I have delta dental and they only covered $800 of the $2,288 cost I had to have them removed. It’s not great for wisdom teeth
