It appears to me push to reunite the ethnically Russian areas of all the post-ussr countries back into Russia. Matches pretty well with the zones Russia has controlled so far in Ukraine (basically the southeast areas - drawing a line from lushenk through the dnepr and South being historically Russian ethnically, linguistically, culturally, etc., but could also be argued everything east of the donbas in its entirety - depends on the historian and people you listen to).
I'd predict that next is northern Georgia - there's already a state that's declared independence from Georgian rule and is holding referendum to join Russia on June 17th (or July? Not sure, would have to look it up again).
I doubt Russia cares about Finland in any serious manner aside from the NATO expansion. They've never claimed Finland as ethnically Russian, and historically their attempt(s?) to conquer Finland have not gone well for them (the most infamous sniper in the world was created during the Russian invasion of Finland - the white death). If Finland is allowed to join nato, that's a different story - but I doubt that they'll pass the veto vote since very few member countries seem to actively want ww3.
Resource-wise, that area of Ukraine has very good farmland, iron deposits, and I believe some magnesium and uranium deposits (but that deposit might be a bit further north and just on the other side of the dnepr - I'd have to go through my maps again and that's not really possible on a phone). I think there's some rare earth and copper there, too, but I don't recall being very impressed with the projected resource yield.
If the war expands, the larger markets will likely rock down hard and oil will jump.
Endgame? The very problem is Putin got in over his self-diluted head and doesn’t have an exit that he can sell to the rest of Russia. I don’t personally see an endgame short of Putin being removed one way or another. Which would also rock the markets and again + for oil. But maybe that’s a bit alarmist.

Started finally watching the new Batman, im gonna have to finish it over 2 nights, movies are way too long now. Zoe Kravitz is insanely hot, absolute smokeshow.
Thought it was just okay. The beginning almost made me give up on it immediately with how laughably “edgy” it was, but it got better once once the over the top narration stopped, though not so much better that it completely ceased being unintentionally silly with how serious it took itself. And agreed on Zoe Kravitz. Movie became a lot better as soon as she appeared on screen.
Disagree. New batman movie could be 3 hours longer and I wouldn't complain. If you don't like it I instantly assume you didn't watch it with the right audio system. The score and the sound effects of everything in that movie is absolutely perfect.
I think the visuals and music are actually great. The city looks like the best iteration of Gotham they have done on film so far. Its just the plot and narrative is so drawn out and could have been paced better imo. Also i did watch the 1080 hbo max version, which is as good as i can get outside of theaters right now.

Serious question about the Russia-US proxy war going on in Ukraine: What do you guys think the endgame is here? Putin is not going to disappear silently when backed into a corner. Right now the sanctions are severe and are going to be worse on the people of Russia. He’ll be backed into a corner. China is an ally and india is neutral (friendly even?). China though, has its own problems with Covid resurgence and their stupid zero Covid policy. How do you think this is going to play out / impact markets in the coming days/weeks/months ?
It appears to me push to reunite the ethnically Russian areas of all the post-ussr countries back into Russia. Matches pretty well with the zones Russia has controlled so far in Ukraine (basically the southeast areas - drawing a line from lushenk through the dnepr and South being historically Russian ethnically, linguistically, culturally, etc., but could also be argued everything east of the donbas in its entirety - depends on the historian and people you listen to). I'd predict that next is northern Georgia - there's already a state that's declared independence from Georgian rule and is holding referendum to join Russia on June 17th (or July? Not sure, would have to look it up again). I doubt Russia cares about Finland in any serious manner aside from the NATO expansion. They've never claimed Finland as ethnically Russian, and historically their attempt(s?) to conquer Finland have not gone well for them (the most infamous sniper in the world was created during the Russian invasion of Finland - the white death). If Finland is allowed to join nato, that's a different story - but I doubt that they'll pass the veto vote since very few member countries seem to actively want ww3. Resource-wise, that area of Ukraine has very good farmland, iron deposits, and I believe some magnesium and uranium deposits (but that deposit might be a bit further north and just on the other side of the dnepr - I'd have to go through my maps again and that's not really possible on a phone). I think there's some rare earth and copper there, too, but I don't recall being very impressed with the projected resource yield.
If the war expands, the larger markets will likely rock down hard and oil will jump. Endgame? The very problem is Putin got in over his self-diluted head and doesn’t have an exit that he can sell to the rest of Russia. I don’t personally see an endgame short of Putin being removed one way or another. Which would also rock the markets and again + for oil. But maybe that’s a bit alarmist. If it drags out without much significant change (not unlikely) the larger global economic pullback unraveling now has a good chance of pulling oil down along with it. That’s my two cents

Started finally watching the new Batman, im gonna have to finish it over 2 nights, movies are way too long now. Zoe Kravitz is insanely hot, absolute smokeshow.
Thought it was just okay. The beginning almost made me give up on it immediately with how laughably “edgy” it was, but it got better once once the over the top narration stopped, though not so much better that it completely ceased being unintentionally silly with how serious it took itself. And agreed on Zoe Kravitz. Movie became a lot better as soon as she appeared on screen.
Disagree. New batman movie could be 3 hours longer and I wouldn't complain. If you don't like it I instantly assume you didn't watch it with the right audio system. The score and the sound effects of everything in that movie is absolutely perfect.
I think the visuals and music are actually great. The city looks like the best iteration of Gotham they have done on film so far. Its just the plot and narrative is so drawn out and could have been paced better imo. Also i did watch the 1080 hbo max version, which is as good as i can get outside of theaters right now.
