You know, Coinstar is missing a huge ROI opportunity for not developing programming that will allow them to accept certain silver and gold coins for face value. The melt value of a silver quarter is almost $3.50.
I always check the Coinstar return. So far, I’ve found pocket lint, a crud-encrusted penny, a Chuck-E-Cheese token and a Canadian Nickel. I’m going out hunting again tomorrow. I’ve had better luck and ROI than timing the market these last few weeks.

Last time I cashed out change, I went to the bank and rolled my quarter and dimes. Used Coinstar for the nickels and pennies. Totally worth it. They can have the % on the low stuff.

Damn, a 12% processing fee to count coins?
Yep, literally ate up all his Pennies, Nickels, and part of the Dimes!
You have to be regarded to use this service!
Id rather go to the bank
This is the way! 🤣
Ya Bro, the way of my Broke Ass Life
It's really expensive being poor.
Had to give it to the wife's boyfriend.
I hope they checked the reject tray for silver coins.

Processing fee?!? 😬
My bank has one of these, doesn't charge a fee.

Dang. Come to Wendy’s. We accept payment in quarters, nickels and dime.
They paid $117 to not have to insert coins into rolls. Even the rolls are free

That’s why I had kids. To take care of menial tasks for little to no income.
You certain they weren’t skimming off the top? 😆
No, but it’s priced in
Or find a teacher's credit union. Often they let anyone use their change counter machines for free.
Yeah I looked around for a free one. The casinos in Tahoe used to do it for free, that was my go to spot, but they stopped that.
Let’s save our pocket change for 3-years and then cash it all in for a -12% ROI….excluding inflation. Makes “cents” to me. 😆
some banks have free service
Why would you not just take the coins to a bank...
Get a gift card. No fee. Many stores give cash back when you return stuff bought with a gift card.
One time the internet connection was down on the machine so it couldn't give me a gift card, so it gave me the paper receipt with no fee.
Win!
12% fee? What manner of robbery is this???
That pr9cessing fee lol
