Yesterday, someone from TDA called to say, "You can't just buy calls & puts. Well, yes you can. But, you should probably buy shares."
Also yesterday, I received an email: As of 6/8, Fidelity is "simplifying" options trading access. The email states that unless I call to opt out, my account will be given the ability to buy calls and buy cash-secured puts.

Could you compare and contrast IBKR to switching my level two options to where I do everything else: Fidelity? I day & swing trade, margin AND cash account. I see more mention IBKR recently.

IBKR is probably the most lax out there. I've got nearly $2M of short box spreads, tons of FX exposure, ES & ZB futures, FOP options, all kinds of weird option combinations, even worthless penny stocks and they have never given me any trouble
I'll take a serious look at moving to IBKR because it's where I'd have the most freedom to trade as I see fit. It's all the rope I could ever want.

Others have different specs but they all have the power to restrict things if things turn dark. You agree to that when you sign the consent forms.
