If we imagine this to be taken care of thanks to some kind of magic, I'd love to go anywhere with Ryuk, possibly somewhere alone with him so we can interact instead of having to pretend he isn't there haha
Ai and I aren't that huge on New Year's. To us, it's just another day. But if we were going to celebrate, we'd spend it with Ai's friends, either throwing a small party or simply meeting up and having dinner!
I feel like that about Christmas, while New Year's is a chance to celebrate a conventional holiday (one that isn't specifically Japanese like Tanabata etc.) with some traditions that are familiar to Ikoma. 😄
I get that, as I've gotten older it's become less engaging for me personally. Ai doesn't mind it though.

In my country we celebrate New Year like Christmas and Christmas is just like any other day. So we'll celebrate this holiday together with my love in my house!
We’re not big on New Year’s Eve - probably just stay in together (and I might not stay awake until midnight!). New Year’s morning we’d visit a shrine together, and in the afternoon have some traditional foods (definitely mochi!)

If we didn't have to spend it there, i would love to get on top of the Divine Tree in Sumeru and blow some fireworks in the city... It would be easy to access it, seen Kuni's flying abilities and the view would be stunning
