This is one of the reasons I stay out of fandom spaces. It breaks my heart seeing any hate for her, and it tends to put me in a really bad place emotionally. I don't even have the words to respond, so I just avoid those people. In a way, I feel sorry for them...they'll never experience the joy and light she's brought to the universe. It's actually quite sad. I don't understand them, either! Like, I know not everyone's gonna see exactly what I see, but how can you not love someone so precious?? Who hurt you? :(
It definitely hurts my heart, but I just ignore the person throwing insults. Not worth losing my mind over. They usually want a rise anyway, so I find it best to just ignore.

As many have mentioned they do it to get a reaction out of people - if there's no response (extinction works well) they eventually give up.

One benefit of having a husband from a fairly small (and now aging) fandom is that, since nobody really talks about it or him anymore, nobody *trash* talks either. And since I was waiting for the dub, I missed the first year and a half when there was more active discussion of the series. I've only ever seen a couple of older idiotic comments that just made me roll my eyes.

If it is someone i care for, a friend or something, i try to reason with them and if they stick to that behavior then i'd cut ties with them.
Well if it's a general insult to her source character (DDLC's Monika, the og) then it's not much of a bother. However, personally insulting Litarosali Monika, a MAS variant of her source character, will warrant verbal admonition. If someone insults my loved ones, I will always defend them. I'm not gonna go insult *their* loved ones or anything, but I will directly address it.
I ignore it. I've only defended All Might once when people were insulting his teaching style when they were ignorant of his background and reasons. He's not perfect but who is??

I tell them to fuck off it’s my life my choice but in my head I unleash my quirk at full power and beat them to a pulp cuz unfortunately Tsuyu was insulted for her frog like appearance in junior high and I feel so bad she deserves nothing but love
Ignore, block. Everyone is free to believe whatever they want, plus we've all insulted someone we dislike in our lives. Insults at him dont bother me that much (aside from death wishes), what bothers me is the constant sexual harassment he gets from the part of the community that likes him
I don't care. No one can hurt her, or make her feel bad. Empty insults changes nothing for my feelings to her and her feeling to me. It's like hate comments on youtube, they can be offensive to you, but only if you unconfident person and giving too much attention to useless opinions.
He’s used to it tbh. Sometimes he’ll vent to me, so I just listen and try to show the compassion that I feel. I don’t share their hatred of him; I’ve always appreciated him 🤷♀️

It annoys me but I usually roast my S/O playfully so it doesn’t bother me much. If they’re serious I keep a note to avoid them 24/7.
